    I’m on vacation in Florida and I went to the rotor riot shop to get some props and this gentleman who is making this video was the kindest most generous person I could have met while there. I’ve never used a digital system and he let me try his goggles and I got an hd tour of the shop through walksnail. After my purchase he sent me away with a care package which is so much more than I expected. Thanks a lot man for making my trip to Florida and to rotor riot unforgettable

    hey thanks for the shout out! nice set of results. FYI, the reason Iterm doesn't result in any overshoot there is because you have really quick tracking such that Iterm is not able to accumulate. That is a good thing, and is often the case when the rig is light, powerful, and P gains are sufficiently high.

    Maybe the best tuning video ever because it is linear, simple, and understandable !! And I have watched A LOT of videos regarding PID tuning : PID Toolbox, Chris Rosser, Joshua B, ... Your one is understandable for a non english native (but speaking english every days). Thank you very much !! I will restart the tuning of my 4 inch qwad.

    this is the first time since flying drones in 2016 were i felt like i actually tuned a drone, it took away all of the feel from the process that i couldnt understand and just showed me straight facts to look for. thank you.

    In Betaflight 4.4.1, the DusKings BMI270 filter settings seem to have gone, at leats I cannot find them in the list of presets.

    That was great. Took me years to understand the process. I always had a feel for it as far as the pids went. Using osd tuning was fast enough.
    I think your video here is pure gold. I hope all new pilots follow this method and just get ripping as soon as they can. Then go watch Criss,mark ect to actually understand what your doing. It's like the difference between learning to drive and being a motor mechanic.

  • @carcomp101

    FINALLY. Someone just says how to do it without needing to run outside, fly, come back in, check, run outside, fly, come back in. I don't have enough packs to do the Indoor / Outdoor method. This is perfect and gets me 90% of the way there, which is about 40% more "there" than any of the other ways! I'm happy.

    Now I understand one of the reasons why you charge what you do for your prebuilt quads. The components are costly and the frame design too, but it is hard to put a price on the tuning process. I am glad that you posted this video because it explains the value but I learned quite a bit from it as well. Thank you.

I've watched several videos on this subject and I started to think I would never understand what all these parameters meant or how to set up a drone. Not now. Thanks for sticking to the explanations without throwing a bunch of EXTRA complexity into show off all your knowledge and confuse people. U r a very good instructor. Thx for this very helpful video.

    great video, one thing to point out is when you start increasing the master multiplier that won't keep same proportions of lower gains like I to P ratios. I found that I term needs to be incrased 1/2 a step for every 1 increase of the master multiplier.

    Coming back to this video…. Awesome tutorial! I need to reset to stock settings and do it again to lock in knowledge (muscle memory). 37:43 when you took it outside: you did change your rates back from 250/250 to whatever YOUR rates you fly? Sorry, just helping other followers understand what’s going on.

    @T3000_fpv 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    After I have looked at your great tutorial several times, I finally tried it myself today and one of my quads tuned according to your description. What can I say, that was really worth it, the difference to the BF Standard Tunes is so huge that you think a new quad to fly. In the positive sense. Thanks for your work!

    You don’t need the bmi preset… it’s a bit confusing, but 4.3 will put the bmi into hardware filter osr4 mode at which point you can filter as you would normally. The preset suggested disables this mode and does it in software.

A lot of people still have rigs with Blheli "S" ESCs and Blheli32 wont read the ESCs... use Bluejay. Also, when u "update" your ESCs, the Betaflight setup must also "match" (d-shot / rpm filters esc)..I found when I swapped the FC I only got the first 3 tones and thought the fc was damaged, nope. basically it the components werent "talking' together correctly.
