The highest speed limit in the USA is TX Route 130, which is a toll road that bypasses the traffic jam that is I-35 going through Austin. There is a section of 130 that is 85 MPS which is about 136 KPH. Most folks drive about 90 MPH (145 KPH). I-10 between Kerrville and Ft Stockton in Texas is about 80 MPH (129 KPH), and most people drive about 90 MPH. It's the closest to the Autobahn experience in the USA, and ironically, it's the Texas Hill Country which was settled by Germans in the 1800s.
Funny thing is that 90 mph would be the farthest right lane ( slowest lane) on the Autobahn. Scary thing is you could be on the fast lane doing 160mph and there would be some dude tailgating signalling for you to move your slow self over
@@brandonr1127 Exactly right! I had something of a similar experience on the Autobahn from Ramstein to Trier, where I was driving about 110 MPH, checked my rear view mirror before i attempted to pass a truck, going downhill, seeing no one behind me and pulled out to pass and no sooner I was alongside the truck there was a line of BMWs and Mercedes literally feet off my back bumper flashing their lights at me to move over, which I did as soon as I got past the truck. I always wanted to be in one of those fast movers!

@@nthgth not really. You can manually change the gears if you want to for example you want to drive up a hill in the snow and decide to stick to 1-2 gear.
And as soon as I was over a couple fast movers accelerated and left me in the dust like I was driving through a parking lot. And the funny part was that's how fast I was passing the truck. I always wanted to be in one of those fast movers!
Lmao I drive 120 mph I65 Indiana and I94 with a 70 mph speed limit and cops don’t care, In the US 70 mph speed limit means 90 mph, 55 means 75, 20-25 over the limit is the traffic flow.

That's not irony, but yeah TX is awesome like that. I visited once (so far) and rented a Charger 345 (best decision ever), I set cruise to 88 mph (yes) and people were still constantly passing me! 😄
I think it was I-35 between Austin and DFW but I'm not sure. Posted limit was 85 for some parts.

In Malaysia there's a highway speed limit of 110km/h but there's lack of enforcement and people rarely obeys it. Even buses speed too, I mean they can push to 180km/h.
It’s the same in Michigan. I can drive across the entire state and see no police and then when I hit Ohio, I see tons of cops. Most people cruise between 140-150km with some going 200
@@trowwzers5057in Washington state its the same the speed limit is 60mph everyone driving 75-85mpg if you hit highway outside city the speed limit is 70 and everyone is doing at least 100mph-120mph at 70 zone
Buses at 180 km/h? That is crazy😅
@@Luis-cr1twAnd probably not true. At least i cant imagine that they can drive this fast while beeing stock. 120kmh is the max normal speed a bus can drive here in germany. So i guess the producer of the bus regulate them. 60kmh more, so 50% more speed then stock would be crazy.
@@alexanderjanke1538 180 may be too fast, but they limit the speed to 120/125 also, because it is too dangerous. Without limiter i guess they can pass that speed, even if just a little bit.

It a 2 door Golf/GTI issue. I have a MK6 GTI and the forward and backward movement of the front seats to access the back seats messes with the sensors in the seat belt buckle.
People need to understand that few people actually get to set records on the autobahn because it has a variable speed limit depending on how much traffic there is. Its an automatic. Im pretty sure the guys who programmed the car to upshift exactly like that knew what they were doing lmao.
@@MrCedimaanthen they didn't communicate with the guys who designed the tachometer lol
@@nthgth not really. You can manually change the gears if you want to for example you want to drive up a hill in the snow and decide to stick to 1-2 gear. The redlines are helpful in these cases to not rev that high for longer durations. But its not gonna destroy your engine if it briefly redlines during a strong accelerating period. Sure you probably shouldnt accelerate like this every time after stopping for a redlight or stop sign but doing it now and then wont hurt the engine at all.
@@MrCedimaan I get all that, but it's news to me that an automaker would make the indicated redline _not_ the automatic upshift point. (Or very very near it).

Not really. A better translation would be motorway or freeway.
@@grahamcook9289bro, that is literally the exact translation
@@NforNivuran Auto = motorised vehicle or car, Bahn = track or lane. That's the exact translation of this compound noun. Bro.
@@grahamcook9289 you cant be serious, in the entirety of my life that i have spoken English i always and i mean always heard the term highway, i have never heard somebody translate it so exact and then tell native speakers and me that it is wrong. Bro.
@@NforNivuran The term highway is just too vague to be used to describe an autobahn. It is a dual carriage way, multi lane road that is designed to be continuously driven without stopping for junctions. In Germany this is an autobahn, in the UK this is a motorway, in Italy this is an autostrada, in France this is an autoroute, in the US this is a freeway or 'interstate highway'. In CA in US the speed limit on freeway is 85 mph where many places even New York it is 50 or 25 on local streets. Less accidents on high speed.
