@@michaelserrurier9392 "So Alive" definitely had its share of admirers and advocates when it dropped whilst I was in high school, but it definitely got way too much airplay here on the local stations out of Seattle. I for one was far more partial to "No Big Deal" and was excited/thankful to hear it played. It still is a stomper, one that I return to often.
Love and Rockets don't make Hits! That for mainstream music.

I got there too late, just missed L&R, although I had seen them twice already, and met Daniel Ash, at work. We saw The Cure. My friend who took me got free tickets from The Cure's keyboard player.
I love Love & Rockets but this really reminds me to U2 in the 1990s (though this video is from 1989)

I remember buying the ticket for them back in the 90's then GF calls and had to visit her and she hated the band. next day I broke up with her for not going... Best choice I ever made.

Reminds me of the flak I took from an ex-GF of mine around 1990 when my old friends and I got tix for The Sisters of Mercy at The Ritz
in NYC, Vision Thing Tour, and I got an earful of shite from her about the fact that I was going to an (apparently sinful?) Sisters show,
and she was slated to do a Christian folk group performance at church the same night. Lo, it was at this point that I had the creeping feeling that things were NOT GOING WELL. I then, attended the Sisters show.

Daniel Ash has spoken about being a huge fan of their album Automatic at that time... though this Love & Rocket's self-titled album was released many months before Automatic

Mysterious and vibrant. The oranges and reds, then the blues and greys. Goes from a kind of radiation to somber, then a searing white and sepia. The cinematography is wonderful.

Growing up in the 80s/90s is a real gift. There was only good music and all the bands could sing and play their instruments, had character and charisma, just like us. It's good that I'll always have that feeling because it's timeless. ♥

This song, album, and this particular era of the *band as a whole* sounds to me like the "offspring" of Ministry, The Jesus and Mary Chain, and perhaps *PHM~era* NIN I suppose... They almost sound like as if Ministry introduced stoner/psychedelic, even more *gothic* crap, and/or blues elements to their music while still keeping the "industrial elements/influences" with Daniel Ash singing... Wtf else can I honestly say❓️*L & R* are bloody musical geniuses and this is *DEFINITELY* my all-tim favorite tune by them, mate! 🤘🤘🤘

Never heard of this band and saw them for the first time at a rock concert in NYC 9/10/24. I was there for Jane’s Addiction … AND SURPRISE SURPRISE … Love & Rockets were actually FAR, FAR better than Jane’s Addiction (which turned out to be extremely boring and bland). Love & Rockets … well, totally rocked. Can’t believe I never heard of them until 9/10/24 🙄 “No Big Deal” is a fun song and sounds great LIVE. Love this band’s vibe.
