I just changed mine. Took bike off stands to lean, waited and its leaking coolant. What did I do wrong? Did I get a faulty part. All bolts are flush. What i Do see is the part that enters the bike with the big O ring does not go in fully when i look under the bike, is that how its supposed to be??
Yeah I found it quite fiddly, you see me bessing with it at around 10:50, it just tried to marry up the input shaft and tapped it stighlty but you need to be so carful as you can damage the new o-ring. With yours being coolant it might be somthing simple like the two hose claps not being tight enough or the housing is faulty and is leaking maybe?
Hey man, I know this video is pretty old now, but do you know/remember where you got that pump from? I’m having issues with my bike and I don’t want to have to buy the $230 OEM one. And if that one is cheaper and has worked fine for you without issues I’d love to know where you found it, thank you!
Hi, I used a place called fowlers its in the UK www.fowlersparts.co.uk/ 👍 worse case if you cant get one for a good price you could put new orings/seals etc
I had someone fix the last few leaks I had on mine, I have had a few I hate to admit, I have fixed a lot in other videos like output shaft etc, take a look at this and see if this gives any ideas to seals that could be gone on yours, or share picture and I can help th-cam.com/video/QT8iOltFWRI/w-d-xo.html
@@renitententity2086 amazing video. I'm amazed that you were able to open the cam without taking down the whole engine. Any video that explain how to do that step by step, I think I need to replace my Spark Plug O Ring.
@@MakoGame-m6d So sorry I dont have video of the step by step process, have you got a Haynes Manual, take a peak in there you might see what you are looking for but good idea for future video
You could have another issue, mine got really hot but added a new rad cap and that sorted it, I had coolant going out of over flow, I did a you tube short of it. This was to fix the leak I had that's all, the rad cap might help you. If you can't find it ping me and will link it
@renitententity2086 well I did the o ring today and all is well... ITS FIXED!!! Super easy and quick fix... just under 20 dollars for the o ring and then roughly 40 for the stuff for an oil change... thanks again man
Nvm I was able to get it off. It's weird just requires some wiggling and maneuvering up and down until it comes loose. I also saw someone take the two screws off of the face of the water pump and remove it that way. I went for a test ride and I didnt tighten the water pump hose enough causing it to pop off and my bike was running at 285 degrees f. Smh

How about oil leak from the weep hole under the exhaust? I tried replacing the head gasket, but still no luck
@@MakoGame-m6d I'm not too sure we're you mean, can you see in my vid?
@@renitententity2086 I have a different leak location, thought you might have encountered something similar

So my bike goes up to 120 celsius, same model, could this be the fix for the temperatures? Engine seems fine..

I think you just showed me my oil leak on my k8 600 gsxr...
Great, glad it was useful, its one of the most common and not the cheapest but relatively easy to fix 🙌

@@renitententity2086I also didn't drain the coolant... I simply pulled the pump out and set it to the side with hoses still attached
@@jordanmills1041 nice, that a good idea to keep the system sealed.
Glad your back up and running
I did my oil pan gasket before I did this 😭🤣🤣 lesson learned though
So, how did you pull the water pump out? I'm having the same issue, I cant get the pump out!
@steven1802 once I had removed the bolts I just had to put a lot or pressure and rocked it back and forth, it's stiff but it will come out

@steven1802 damn, hopefully you didn't cause any heat damage, does it run OK now? After tightening etc
