Nick Hall is a self taught Guitarist and Multi-instrumentalist from Norwich, UK. He obtained a Bachelor Arts Honors Degree in Music from the Colchester Institute in 2010 and has since worked with many acts and bands over the last 10+ years.

People usualy make the mistake to think that the tone is in the fingers, when acctually the tone is in your head. The fingers are just the messenger. That being said, what a FANTASTIC tone comes out of your head, mate!! Cheers and keep playing!

Tone comes from your fingers and thats why every individual is different cause we get to hear their nervous system through your fingers. Stop making things complicated
I think that NOTES are in the head and those notes are played through fingers which also add TONE to those notes...

Am I the only one impressed that you default to using your middle finger instead of your ring finger? Never really seen that before, but sounds great.
Gary Moore did it as well.
Its just how it turned out. Some people play barre chords (rooth on 5th string) with the ring finger blocking 3 strings. Others use the pinky. Whatever works the best for you.

This is my all time favorite song and this is my favorite cover of it I have ever come across. Very nicely done and thank you. Wonderful blend of finesse and smoothness with aggressive blues phrases and really strong vibrato. Also, awesome palette of tones. From really clean to really high gain but the beauty is all the shades in between. Awesome.

More than anyone else probably Claptons phrasing has been a huge influence on me and a base or root so to speak for my musical appreciation. That being said im Just barely fnally getting into really playing after not having played for years. Ive been practicing this song in particular laying down loops on my helix LT and then improvising over. Love finally finsing myself being able to play it on my own. Definitely not at your level though but still loving it! Take it easy man.

Thanks for the comment! I basically just emulate a tube screamer in a fender twin. Tiny bit of compression. o But I guess some of it is in my technique as well! Not sure! haha! This video I would have been using a line 6 pod xt live i think. But my live sound is basically the same.

Hey Eric, in this video I am using my line 6 pod HD 500 modelled on a fender twin. I then have my pedal board running through this that has my MK1 Marshall blues breaker engaged. As well as a few others like a compressor and eq.

I use my middle finger to bend and vibrato in a slightly different way. I use it in place of my index finger which lost it's tip in a spindle molder in '78.
I use 2nd and 4th position blues scales a lot so mostly I can use middle and little finger.
Before hurting my fingers I was into speed speed and speed but then after having to adapt I learned about the empty space and putting feeling into my playing.
You have absorbed many techniques and have great feel and sense of composition, man.

Wow even more shocked that you got this tone through the older line 6 pod. I have a Helix and love it and was still impressed with the tone.
