fr like they were super concerned with letting me know what i was buying lol they said sometimes parents come in and buy stuff for their kids without realizing what it is etc that’s why they started putting the stickers but i felt attacked haha like let me buy my manga in peace
I also went to the library for the first time in about two years recently and I was very happy about it. I love checking out 15 books that I’m even mildly interested in, putting them on my shelves, not reading them, and then returning them a month later lol. It’s way better than impulse buying stuff at B&N though, as I tend to do.
haha i feel you, i've gotten through about 4 of the volumes i got so far? much easier to get through manga then books ofc but also the con is you have to haul so many volumes haha i asked the librarian how many i could check out and they said "haha 99 is the max at a time" ... like that would be some impossible number but if you wanted to binge all of one piece or something in 2 weeks ...
Yes! your local library is a great way for ppl to find manga. I was so happy when I heard they were opening again. Too bad that your experiences at comic book stores have been bad but I hope this good one makes up for the past ones.
literally my favorite place to get manga idk why more people don't utilize the library especially if you are a student in the usa at least most high schools have manga in the school library and stuff but obviously i see the appeal f owning manga as well haha, and ya idk i always get bad or weird vibes from comic book stores but other than them hounding me about my ID this one was a fine experience lol
Haha I just spent the whole day manga shopping!! Canada surprisingly has a manga shop in every single mall, so it made manga shopping a little easier!

To be honest, I had a similar experience when I was buying mangas some weeks ago. The chashier told me to show him my ID card because the manga (a boys love title) was above 15 years and he supposed me to be 12 🙄 It was so embarassing. In the end I told him the manga was for a friend 😑 So you're not alone hahaha. Love your video as usual😌

Yes the library! I haven't been going in my library to look for manga but I've been searching it on their site to put holds since different branches have different selections. Great way to try out a series.
for sure! i missed being able to do this so will definitely be piecing together series like this that i'm on the fence about buying, are expensive/rare, etc

Haven’t been to my local library in 2 years due to Rona, but during quarantine I used Libby( which uses your library card) to catch up on books online.

I hope you enjoy hikaru no go. It’s one of my favorite series. I definitely agree about the libraries. It is a great place to read and discover new and old manga. Some of my favorite series I found where from the library lol. Great haul!

Always nice to see a manga haul. Hikaru No Go is definitely on my list! I'm looking into getting Whistle and Prince of Tennis too. I'm trying up my sports manga collection haha. I mangage to get the Assassination Classroom box-set for $110 local the guy was just trying to get rid of it. You're in for a treat!
i always see whistle but never the first couple volumes for some reason? i'm interested in that series as well, i believe it is the only soccer manga published physically in english, same with POT for tennis,, and nice deal omg, ya every time i see the boxset on like ebay its $250+ and i can buy the singles for cheaper so it doesn't make sense (i have read the series just want to own it physically, the spines are so pretty as well which is an extra bonus)
I've the first volume of Goodnight Punpun. Can't really tell by the first one if the series will hit me hard emotions yet, so I'm waiting for more volumes to come back in stock to continue the series. I liked Solanin and the art by Inio Asano, so I'm looking forward to it as I've heard mixed reviews. And yeah, the new Durarara light novel was a pretty good read :)
nice! ya i bet one volume is not really enough to tell how i will like the story but i think if i'm completely bored or disinterested that may be a sign that i won't like the rest of the series so i'm willing to try plus ya like you said the volumes are a bit annoying to find right now,, and yes i'm excited to read drrr sh especially since you said it was good :)

Nice haul!! Yes here recently I went to my local manga shop at the mall and bough 1-5 of fire punch I felt embarrassed being asked to show my Id outloud in a line of customers I was like sssshhhhut up just whisper it haha

one of the first animes/mangas i read was tpn and i totally get where you’re coming from. it seems really weird seeing kids and following them instead of a teenage or even adult main character but trust me it is sooo worth it. i think you’ll really enjoy it because it doesn’t feel like your typical shonen like mha or jjk so thats what really caught my eye. im really excited for vol 20 to come out bc of the massive cliffhanger off of vol 19 (if you end up reading tpn, get ready for cliffhangers), but yeah enjoy it bc the story goes pretty fast. last thing if you watch the anime do NOT watch season 2 just read on in the manga. trust me many episodes were rushed and many important things in the plot that was in the manga was skipped which made the show wayyy worse than season 1. I feel like it could also ruin the reputation of the manga and cause people to look away from the amazing plot it comes with. ok im done rambling now lol thanks for the awesome video and enjoy all your new manga 😊👍
also, the only reason i watched the anime is because killua and the character with black hair on the cover named ray have the same sub va so all i hear when he talks is killua lmao (thought it might be an interesting fact)

I used to be all about Osamu Tezuka’s works (My pfp gives it away) If you ever open up submissions for showing you our manga collections most of mine will be Tezuka manga from my big phase of adoring his stuff. I’m getting into popular series because I want a break from 60s-70s manga. Love your videos
to be honest i've never read one of his works, idk i feel like all the english releases are shoved into chunky omnibuses and not given the same treatment as other famous mangakas but hopefully i can try one soon

Honestly I’m definitely comfortable with more heavier BL content,as well soft. Of course with the heavy side of BL I’ll only read it if it’s both consenting adults. No minors aloud please. But I totally understand and respect your comfortableness with what you do/don’t want to read in BL. Plus I am not and don’t support anyone who thinks that BL or Yaoi is an sexuality;because it isn’t,plus that type of mind set is unhealthy. But they’re people out there who do that,which I find in my opinion disgusting.

yes but it’s extremely out of print unfortunately :/ sometimes volume 3s pop up in the wild but they usually sell for over $100
Dead dead demons dededede destruction is a work by Inio Asano that’s not entirely depressing. It’s so wholesome at times and a fun journey, I would recommend
