@@schmausa795 Absolutely laughable misinformation. Let me fix you up real quick. Camilo Pardo, J Mays and Carroll Shelby designed the GT40, all 3 Americans. The car was produced at various stages in Wixom, Michigan, Troy, Michigan, Romero, Michigan and Norwalk, Ohio. You've convinced yourself that the GT40 is a "British car," because a British company(Safir Engineering) held the "GT40" trademark at the time and Ford licensed it from them... Carroll Shelby did not design the GT40. He was brought on a committee of how to setup the program, but the honor of the GT40 would go to Roy Lunn and Eric Broadly. Shelby has his own racing program going on in 1964 with the Daytona cobra. FAV, headed by John Wyer would be the ones overseeing the program in 1964, and after a poor season, the cars were hauled off the Shelby immediately after Nassau speed weeks. He would then take over the program in 1965 as the head works team. Abby panels and FAV would continue to build the chassis before they were sent off to privateers and works teams, such as Shelby, Alan Mann, and Holman-Moody (Holman-Moody would assist Ford in developing the 427 during the program)
