@@AndoCommando1000 I’ve just spent yesterday messing about on mine. You need to hold on to the upper handrails for moving along the port side deck. This is reminiscent of my Army days - cut off all my hair (a flat top). Now Beneteau has given this boat a "Flat Top" - looks good (it's what the Sergeant used to say). The boat is just the right size for so many uses and will be great for a lot of people. Cost effective. Comfy. Easy to enjoy - the "CCE" of boating. I suppose some wise-n-himer will suggest, "...all it needs now is a flybridge." It's a no win World sometimes. Thanks, Nick - this is my THIRD favorite boat (without a flybridge).
What a brilliant starter yacht. Add a fresh water maker and a Gen set one could cruise here and there all summer without a care. Have a great week Nick!
I just love Swift Trawlers, and it's always a pleasure to see you aboard one for a tour. I'd prefer a flybridge, but otherwise this is a great boat for the size and money.
There is a flybridge version. The beauty of the sedan is a shallower air draft (draught), which allows passage under low bridges, common on European inland waterways like the French canal system. Useful in North America too, where the lower height can allow passage under bridges (like those on the ICW) that would otherwise demand the bridge be opened, often necessitating a wait. If that’s not a feature you’d find valuable, easy enough to get the flybridge version.
Hi Nick, loved the way the skippers seat could swing to the dinette table for extra seating. Uncomplicated mechanicals for trawling/exploring and the single berth cabin could be utilised for extra hanging space for us retiree's setting away for a few weeks at a time 😏 That ex work's price is good value too. Cheers DougT
This is a fantastic trawler, thank you very much for the tour! It’s such a small feature, but I love when the toilet compartment and shower are completely separated, kind of Japanese style!
Wow, what an incredible layout! 2 good sized cabins & an ‘owners suite’ (that’s what I’d call it!) plus loads of room inside & out… I can’t fault this one Nick, superb! 👍🏻
I think this is quite a clever layout. The whole boat is a little cheap looking in places but being able to gently cruise but also blast along as needed has done appeal
I’m still quite new to boating so intrigued by what you are seeing when you say cheap looking? Is it the boats actual structure or the fixtures / fittings (wood veneer, handles etc?). Asking as I’ve see a few early 2000s boats with interior refits, and I’m wondering if your point is you’d need to do it sooner on something like this, or if you mean it wouldn’t get to 20 years old?
@@markrutherford4962 it’s true it isn’t a real go anywhere trawler like a nordhavn or similar but it isn’t supposed to be. My complaints are about the fitout and the use of cheap veneer furniture and finishings. It will look tired much quicker than a more expensive but better built boat. They are motivated to make them as light as possible so they can get away with smaller engines. Look at the other video recently on the Chanel of the Prestige 520S which has tiny IPS600 engines which won’t have the torque to punch the boat into a heavier sea but the smaller engines means they can charge a lot less for it. Everything in boating is a compromise.
I think that is a lovely little yacht, nice finishes, everything you need and quite a decent size entry into the engine room. Lovely tour for a Sunday morning Nick, Thank you.
I LOVE every single swift trawler in the range. Elegant with just enough accommodation to make you comfortable, but nothing pretentious. Slow cruising up the coast but also having the power to get you in quickly if the weather takes a sudden turn. What's not to love? The only question when I finally win the lottery is which one to get?
Wasn't there a track for a curtain in the saloon? I think that's what the infill in front of the washing machine is for. Occasional 2 person berth makes this even better! What was in the narrow cupboard above the one for the table? My guess is deck chairs. Lovely little pensioners boat, thanks for the walkthrough Nick👍
Some are saying it looks cheap. But in sure they would love to have the chance to go away for the weekend on her. I know i would. She a perfect yacht. And the room on her is wow. Thank you Nick for another great blog. Looking forward to the next.
Agree completely. She is cheap compared to ultra-million lux yachts, just as my flat is cheap compared to $20m prestige apartments in the USA, but... my flat is HOME. :-)
I could happily live aboard this wonderful ship.Get a water maker,a small generator,a freestanding air-conditioner,and cruise 'The Loop' while docking where the weather's nice whenever I pleased.Spaced well for a couple guests too.
I liked this little boat. The only thing I would change, make only one shower. Have one bigger for everyone to share an I'd probably add a bath tub shower unit in it. That way if small kids are onboard it's easier to get them clean. Plus I know alot of people like myself who just like to sit back an soak, mainly if the tub has water jets in it.
Nice vlog, As I've mentioned before it's all well saying the boat will do about 200 miles but what capacity are the fuel tanks? I had a vehicle with a 3ltr. Engine and cover about 500 miles on a ful tank. Now my current vehicle has also a 3ltr.engine but the difference is the tank capacity, the first had a 100 Ltr. tank while this one has a smaller 60ltr.
I really like those trawler yachts, and from some videos I watched recently, Beneteau makes some especially nice ones. The light wood and not-glossy surfaces look great and not too over the top. If I'd win the lottery, the first thing I'd do is get a boat like this. But most of the time, these yachts are presented somewhere warm, like the Mediterranean, which makes me wonder: Would these boats be fit for the North Sea or a visit to Norways fjords? I'd go there first before going south. And while I'm commenting: I randomly came across this channel a year or two ago, and found looking at yachts to be a fantastic way of escapism. And this channel is one of the best yacht-channels I've found so far (along with MB&Y and a few others). The same goes for your motorhome channel. Keep up the great work, and I'm looking forward for more almost affordable trawlers.
