    A few people have, quite understandably, expressed surprise that Beneteau hadn't provided me with a clear empty boat to film. They would have, but it would have needed to be at at the beginning or very end of the day, all the manufacturers request the same. I film as many as I can within those periods, but some (like this one) end up being filmed on the fly in the middle of the day, often with me turning up unannounced (I book as many as I can, but some I just have to 'wing'). So whilst they can (and do) limit people boarding, they understandably can't eject everyone already on board. Often, I can just wait for a few people to leave, but if it's a really popular boat, I would have to wait for 30 minutes or more (which I don't have time for) so sometimes I have to just press on. I think it worked out okay though 🙂

      You did a lovely job skipper, another boat added to my lottery wish list. Nice roomy boat although I felt the galley was a bit pinched. I’ve got to keep chef happy 😉 Well done on all your work.

      Hi Nick
      Kudos for ongoing drive!
      Please accept it as a constructive feedback
      After being spoiled with your superb quality of content - this video left me disappointed
      Struggling to watch with so many legs, bodies and other disturbances
      Again you are great
      But this oem’ should accommodate your schedule given the reach that you give them for free, not the other way around

      I didn't actually mind seeing people milling about. Kind of took it as a reference for what it'd be like space-wise with people onboard moving about. So, to be honest, I found it to be a good thing. Didn't wanting them chattering in the background and getting in the way, but I did think it useful, purely as that reference.

    I actually quite liked seeing the boat busy - it's hard to see when it's empty how it would look and function with a family, guests and/or crew on board (I know you did do an excellent charter video diary!) so seeing it packed out does give an impression of the hustle and bustle of actually owning one. And having a social life... Well done, Nick!

      Cannes is where all the down to earth serious lovers and buyers go.
      If you want pomp and circumstance to go Monaco for their Glasgow around the same time. More expensive tickets, I have been able to get one for next year in the owner/members enclosure, a tidy sum of money, with digs at the hotel opposite the casino, am so excited, let's hope it's not cancelled.

    Not quite sure why everyone is commenting about there being a few people onboard and not about the Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 ?? Guys it's TH-cam, not the BBC (no disrespect implied or intended Nick :- ) Nick is trying to get onboard as many desirable yachts as he can while he is at the Cannes Boat Show. Nick showed us everything he always does, in difficult circumstances, but he 'ducked and weaved' like the Pro he is. Assertive, but polite, accessed all areas as always. Sorry, I didn't mean it to be a 'rant'. Great job Nick as always. Have to say this didn't 'do it' for me...some great design, and features, but as someone has already commented the wood /mdf? of the doors and cupboards looked very B&Q to me...Someone commented it was good value at £2M...I'd want more for that kind of money...

    I live in NYC and I know nothing about yachting. I was on a 80' Swan sailboat once in Martha's Vineyard and it was an unforgettable experience. I come here to dream. So far, my favorite yacht is the Solaris 111 CeFeA. I just discovered trawler yachts, however. I was never drawn to them visually. They look ungainly and top heavy but wow oh wow, this Beneteau Grand Trawler 62 is stunning. I now see why people love them so much. You could live on this trawler full time. It's spacious and open and light and airy. What I love about this boat the most is it's modern and clean interior, not the typical cheesy interiors you see on most yachts, like those owned by Russian oligarchs.

    That's a really lovely, practical boat - it looks like it's built like a tank but really comfortable at the same time! So many excellent design touches and features (thanx for pointing them all out!) and my favourite was the day-bed next to the helm - what a fantastic place to lay back and enjoy the view from the helm station while underway! Loved the owner's cabin, too - it looked huge, very light and airy and really comfortable. Great work on navigating all those other people who also wanted to spend time onboard to appreciate this boat as well!

    Great tour of a crowded boat Nick, and a very nice boat at that! I loved to see all the smaller boats you managed to tour during lockout but I'm very happy to see the larger boats again :-)

    I love your videos of the Swift Trawler style of boat. Id totally go for a trawler than a speed yacht just so much more practical.

  • @didgerb72
    @didgerb72 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I can't believe you get so much on a 62ft vessel. Looks more like a compact superyacht rather than A Grand Trawler. With her speed variounce she's a Compact SuperTrawler with that 9 to 10knot jump to 20knots. A very good jump if needing to outrun some inclement weather systems.
    Shame so many onbiard, as you couldn't give the full pan view as has to keep camera at lower level to miss people's faces. Cool touch adding that chap to the video. Nice to see a fan on a video. Nice touch sir.

    Well done, Nick. Looks like a capable coastal cruiser and likely candidate for the Great Loop. Maybe not a passage maker, but that’s what Flemings, Nordhavns, and Berings are for.

    Fantastic boat , great layout and amazing storage and they have put a huge effort into the design of the boat some how they have nailed the sporty look into a trawler style boat which is why it's so popular . Nick well-done getting around that boat with so many people on board you smashed that video considering how busy it was 👊

    I like how the galley isn't the first thing you walk into when you come in from the cockpit like with so many yachts of this class.
    I've never been a fan of that layout because first of all you have to walk through potentially people cooking or clearing up which is a faff, but also, having the galley between the cockpit and the main saloon area kind of acts like a circuit breaker to the social areas if you will. Much better having the cockpit and saloon connected.
    Also, having the galley central in the boat, with access on to the decks, reminds me alot of super yachts which is a nice touch.
    Great video overall though

      Well, there's merits and demerits about everything. If you have a aft-galley layout, you can cater your guests from both ends.
      Normally the place where cocktails are made or beer haned out is always the center of the party. So it might not be a circuit breaker but a fuel station...

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Galley aft is popular due to making drinks & snacks all day for guests, especially kids in the cockpit. Personally I'm with you and not a great fan of "the kitchen" as a feature.

      Thanks for sharing this point of view! I probably come down on the 'other side.' Crewed, I would want staff to be nearby if needed. Wife or I cooking, I'd want to be part of the action.

    Another great tour from this man. I love how he sees himself as just like the general public looking around the boat and just chills out. I have to say this boat is nasty. It is like MFI meets the ocean. Horrible tacky laminated chipboard furniture. It is totally devoid of class and sophistication. Good job I wasn't doing the review!!

    I quite liked the format of this, even if only one of the interlopers gave @Aquaholic his due.
    One of the aspects of your Channel I enjoy the most is your eye for elegant practical design/engineering.
    I can’t think of another who would have noticed, much less acknowledged those folding chairs.
