Hello Mr & Mrs H ( and Miss Baby👶 H too!) The sandwich the "Gyro" is usually made with Lamb, but can ALSO be made with Chicken or Beef. Yours was probably made with Arbys Beef..noit Lamb. now that Beef is seasoned to taste similar to the way Lamb is seasoned when used in a Gyro! . BTW..most people do pronounce it "GEAR-ROE" but as it is a Greek Invention I have heard some Greeks friends say it's actually pronounced "YEER-ROE"! Enjoy!!
That little girl is so open to trying things, and even when something isn't her favorite, she just moves on to the next bite. She's a pleasure to watch and a really lovely little personality! It's so nice to see how proud you both are of her, and how she's just part of the experience - not set aside as a "kid" or particularly limited. It's a really lovely interaction. Thanks for sharing her as long as y'all choose to do so.
Ikr? People always say it's nasty but it's one of our favorites. It's so different from other fast food and it's a great alternative to burgers and chicken. It is pricey, though, so it's a treat lol.
It is true that burgers and chicken sandwiches are available nearly everywhere, but I always had a weakness for Arby's Chicken Bacon and Swiss. Been years since I've been to an Arby's so I'm not sure if they're even still available.
@@leafiiloran The thing is though, it is nasty most of the time. Their "meat" depending on the sandwich you get, is cooked/reheated 3 times. They sous vide a lot of their stuff these days, then it either gets reheated/cooked on a flat top or whatever they use or the microwave again. Most of the time that just leads to a horrible, dry, void of flavor pile of mush. If you get lucky and get one that's been cooked decently and not overcooked - yeah it can be tasty. But their curly fries are incredibly good, I'll give them that. Though I still think they don't touch Checker's fries. Those fries are just top tier fast food fries lol
Agreed! I must’ve eaten 1 million of those when I was in college. They used to have them on special back then and I devoured them with some Dr Pepper. And barbecue sauce is the only proper thing to put on roast beef sandwiches. They can keep that horseradish sauce and that other stuff. Simply the best!
No! The Beef and "Cheddar" is terrible. It is liquid "cheese" on the beautiful roast beef. The only good thing about it is the onion bun. I wish I could get the onion bun with the classic roast beef.
Amen to that. I worked there back in the days of the old 5 for 5 deal. 5 regular roast beefs for $5.00. We were just across the road from a high school. When they had off campus lunch and we had the 5 for 5 going we got destroyed! By 10:30 AM I would have 350 sandwiches made up and stored in one of the ovens. Just so we could serve fast enough. Kids would come in and order 10 5 for 5's. Wham 50 sandwiches gone!
Arby's Reuben is good but getting Reuben at a really deli is so much better. I like the Classic roast beef with both Arby's sauce and Horsey sauce on it.
Yes, Arby's Reuben is good, Culver's is better, deli Reuben is the best. But nowadays, finding a good local family owned deli that is established as having the best sandwich is really hard to find; unless you live in a big city. My town has maybe 75-100k people and we have a lot of restaurants, no deli that's not a franchise. Lockdowns killed our one and only deli.
A massive deli Reuben, big enough for two people to share -- 😲🤯🥰 I love it when it's warmed up and the Swiss cheese and sauerkraut meld together. Stage Deli in Manhattan, near Penn Station, had that mastered ... but they're out of business now. I also love a cold Reuben with cole slaw instead of sauerkraut. Reuben: What a sandwich masterpiece! At Arby's, though, I always enjoyed the TURKEY sandwich with extra Horsey, but I usually only had coupons for their processed-beef-food sandwich options. Even before fast food prices went sky-high, we folks living below the poverty level had to be careful with our dining-out splurges.
"Baby H" is really ahead of the curve with her sharing habits. She gave fries to her mother, and she said no to the larger fry in favor of a smaller one. I really like the little mini-me.
I'm looking forward to this one. I'm one of many who suggested they try it. I love Arby's because it's NOT a burger, it's a welcome change now and then.
A Greek Gyro ( pronounced year-o) does have some lamb mixed with beef. At Arby's you can choose just roast beef or a Greek style which is better. I've had both.
I can't wait to move back home, I have been living in Germany for 10 years and my husband is retiring soon. Gyros here in Germany are strictly pork and I miss my lamb and beef, I will probably gain 100 pounds when I get back 🤣😂
The Gyro is pronounced like Year O. lol great vid. Love me some Arby's french dips. Also if you are ever driving around and see a restaurant called King Gyro's then I highly recommend trying their Gyro's. Most if not all are Greek family owned franchises.
I’ve commented this before, but I have a son the exact same age as Alana and have been watching for years. It’s almost like I’ve watched them grow up together. Its been really fun. My son can count to 40 and is working on reading but has nothing on Alana’s social skills. It makes me wonder if I’m doing something wrong. OHhhhh....you passed on the Jalapeno Poppers and the Bronco Berry Sauce. I love those darn things...lol I love Arby's. Been going there since I was a kid. The classic roast beef with horsey sauce and the Reuben are my favorite sandwiches. They will also make you a Rachel, which is also very good, if you ask for it (Turkey instead of Roast Beef). I never get the cheese sauce on my Roast Beef as I think it's pretty awful. I go plain or with the horsey sauce. Arby's also makes an awesome crispy chicken sandwich. I like both the Classic and the Bacon Swiss. I get such a kick out of Elana. (I hope I spelled her name right. I can never remember if you spell it with an A or an E?) She is certainly not shy about trying new foods...lol
There is an arby's restaurant here at Camp Foster okinawa, Japan, which is a marine base and the food is just good as it is back in the states, and the prices are the same as back in the states. The government picks up the extra tab.
I was at Camp Hansen in 1965 for Amphibious Raider Training and Counter Guerilla Warfare school. Must be changed a lot now. Tom Boyte, GySgt. USMC, retired. Vietnam 1965-66/1970-71
We stayed at temporary housing on Camp Foster when I was 12 (1982) before moving on base at Kadena. Back then none of the bases had chain restaurants, we just had to eat at the base fast food places, one of which we called “Scarf & Barf”. Those were the days…
I go to Arby's about once a year and I cannot eat anything from there without both the horsey and Arby's sauces. I had to give up salt for health reasons and I find their food much too salty. I have to drink a lot of water or Dr. Pepper to get through a sandwich. I can't even imaging eating even one of those curly fries though. My taste buds are ultra sensitive to even small amounts of salt now. ♥
I'm so glad you guys wen't to Arby's, It's been my favorite chain since i was a kid. I always crave a classic Beef n Cheddar, or a Reuben. Their fries are also incredible; I'll even tell you a secret. Universal Studios Resort buys their curly fries from Arby's. 😉
Arby’s is a very overlooked fast food chain. I personally really like going there and getting a beef and cheddar with curly fries and an apple turnover and love their orange cream shakes in the summer time.
LOL, the way baby H was drinking up that milkshake I can only imagine she was bouncing off walls later that day. I also adore the way she gives everything a two rating, which I imagine is her favorite number. Now when do you all plan on moving to the USA permanently? We need people that love us to live here.
I've heard "gyro" pronounced as "HEE-UR-roh", "GUY-roh", and "yee-roh" (the "y" in the pronunciation like "yes")..... And here in the US gyros are known to be a bit classier than "drunk food". That title foes to tacos, especially Taco Bell tacos, & McDonald's burgers are THE go-to "drunk food"
10:14 gyro (ye-ro) is a greek food that is usually lamb meat. but you can get roast beef or even chicken instead at Arby's. when you asked for 'greek' they used lamb meat. Kabab, though similar, is a middle eastern, and similar countries, food that is usually goat meat, though I believe in England they use lamb as it's easier to get.
Reuben and Gyro are two of my all time favorite sandwiches. For the Gyro I just cannot get enough of the tzatziki sauce that goes on it, I hope to go to a REAL establishment to try one some day.
Just a tip the next time you come to the United States and go to Arby’s order a little tub of nacho cheese to drip the curly fries in because they have small plastic containers full of nacho cheese you get to dip your fries in
Greetings from the USA. Arby’s is good fast food. Another good place is Wendy’s and one I grew up with was Roy Roger’s. The best roast beef sandwiches in my opinion.
Every single food show should have a toddler as a judge! Baby H has such a sophisticated palate already! Enjoy your Arby’s! Mmm I might have to go for a Gyro tonight! Best wishes! 🙏🏼
Still not as good as they were in the 70's and early 80's... I remember when they had a steam thing built into their prep tables. They weighed the meat, put a bun on the table, gave it quick blast of steam and it was then put together so it came to you warm thru and thru.
I was an impressionable child when that episode came out and believed it was gross well into my teens. It wasn't until my best friend ordered it for me in high school that my eyes were opened 😂 Thank you bff 🙏🏻
I ask for the bold BBQ sauce for my roast beef sandwich... so good! The gyro comes with roast beef or turkey too. The roast beef gyro is my favorite and the turkey is nice change. Love the cherry turnover! Enjoy...
My favorite has always been the Arby-Que, which sadly disappeared from the menu, but I order a classic roast beef sandwich and ask them to add their yummy BBQ sauce to it, which is different from the Arby Sauce. The Arby Sauce is a bit thinner and more vinegary, but the BBQ sauce is thick and rich and a little sweet and smokey. So good! Love, love, love the curly fries too. I hope that you all enjoyed your trip to Arby's!!!
I was super surprised by the gyro when Arby's first introduced it. I wasn't expecting a chain fast-food place to make a better gyro than most of the gyro shops I've been to in my area.
Fully agree. I have one place in town that makes a better one, but for a chain restaurant the gyro is absolutely solid, and is one of my go-to's when I go to Arby's.
besides the food tasting good, the best thing about Arby's is all the coupons they send in the mail to get their food cheaper!!!! when I was in college (mid life career change) a several years ago, I used to get the 10 sandwiches for $10 on my way home every other day. I would eat two there, then a few later in the day, then a few more that night while studying, and maybe a few in the morning before heading to college. it was great and I always had coupons since they mailed so many out...
And me and my brother used to get classic roast beef all the time, and we take the top off the bun and sprinkle a whole packet of Arby sauce throughout the layers of meat
@@Mrhandfriendsthe entire East Coast United States right now is getting beautiful sunny weather and it's in the 80s and 90s all the way from Florida to Maine❤
A trip to Arby's is always a win. When I get the roast beef sandwich, I usually get their Beef & Cheddar sandwich, and my pro tip for you on that is to turn it upside down, remove the bottom bun, and squirt a packet of Arby sauce AND horsey sauce all over it, then reassemble. Very messy, very tasty. More often than not, I get the brisket sandwich with double meat. The curly fries can also be ordered with a side of cheddar sauce to dip them in... awesome! And their jamocha shake is marvelous, as you just discovered. Happy for you to have discovered Arby's!
The Greek wrap is called something that sounds very close to hero, no g sound. And yes, an authentic Greek gyro is made with lamb and yes, it is also called a donner kabob.
9 times out of 10, if I'm getting fast-food, I go to Arby's. Their menu is just so diverse, and everything tastes good. Other than Taco Bell and occasionally Captain D's, Arby's is almost the only fast-food I eat.
ARBY'S!!!!! 🤯😋 I AM INSANELY JEALOUS. Great, now I gotta go find the coupons and order me some. Next time ask them to add Arby's cheese sauce for the roast beef sandwich
I'm glad you guys enjoyed it. Arby's reuben is good, but far from authentic. Gyro is pronounced - Year Row. I love the Curly Fries and might have to run over to an Arby's for dinner because of your video. Pro tip is to mix Arby's Sauce and Horsey Sauce on your sandwich.
I was late for the Live! Bummer. Gone are the days where Baby H just watched you two pass the food between you. Miss Elana is right up, digging in, too! ❤

My favorite sandwich is the Beef N Cheddar with a mix of Arby and Horsey sauce😋😋😋😋

At some point, it would be cool for you to go to a real New York deli and get Reubens and hot pastrami sandwiches. Real deli sandwiches are amazing!
I love pastrami with a passion.
Ive never had Arby's. Here in New York we buy Reuben sandwiches from our local Kosher deli. You need to come to NYC and eat at Katz deli or similar.
Yes! Katz in N. Y.
I’m going to say avoid Katz’s. It’s a tourist trap. Go to a family kosher deli and get a Reuben with some half sour pickles on the side.
Agreed
Also, you should try the beef and cheddar they’re awesome. It’s a roast beef sandwich with cheddar cheese on it.

Arby’s got rid of their potato pancakes a few years ago. It was one of my favorite fast food sides.

Mine too. I was so mad.
Then Jack In The Box got rid of their Bacon Cheddar Potato Wedges too.
Everyone is going for plain old fries. 😭
They might be coming back.......
One of their biggest mistakes was getting rid of the potato cakes...
I still desperately miss their onion petals.
jalapeno bites with the broncoberry sauce is the reason I go to Arby's
I agree totally, but they are English and might have a rough time with jalapenos.
That's my favorite sauce of any fast food by far!
That sauce goes great on the cherry tart too.
I used to be partial to the French dip. I have good memories of the place.

LOL, the way baby H was drinking up that milkshake I can only imagine she was bouncing off walls later that day. I also adore the way she gives everything a two rating, which I imagine is her favorite number.
Now when do you all plan on moving to the USA permanently? We need people that love us to live here.
I love Arby's. I usually order the classic roast beef with melted cheddar cheese and fries. I am going to try the Reuben the next time I go.
Yeah, nice call on getting the roast beef at Arby's! Same with the curly fries! An unbelievable combo!
I've heard "gyro" pronounced as "HEE-UR-roh", "GUY-roh", and "yee-roh" (the "y" in the pronunciation like "yes").....
And here in the US gyros are known to be a bit classier than "drunk food". That title foes to tacos, especially Taco Bell tacos, & McDonald's burgers are THE go-to "drunk food"

gyro (ye-ro) is a greek food that is usually lamb meat. but you can get roast beef or even chicken instead at Arby's. when you asked for 'greek' they used lamb meat.
Kabab, though similar, is a middle eastern, and similar countries, food that is usually goat meat, though I believe in England they use lamb as it's easier to get.
Arby's Mozzarella sticks are AMAZING too. Best Mozz sticks of any fast food place! If you get another chance try them.
The Reuben is the greatest sandwich created by human beings of all time.
I completely agree! That and their curly fries are the only reasons I choose to go there
I also agree, so freaking good
Let's not be so disrespectful towards the French dip 😉 Both tremendous.
@@ryanhighberg4662 I'm not a fan of mixing the textures of solids and liquids! More for people who enjoy them though
Spoken like someone who's never had a Monte Cristo.
Reuben and Gyro are two of my all time favorite sandwiches. For the Gyro I just cannot get enough of the tzatziki sauce that goes on it, I hope to go to a REAL establishment to try one some day.
I worked at Arby's for several years and I got free food every single day, but somehow I still love the food.
We got a discount when I worked there.
Just a tip the next time you come to the United States and go to Arby’s order a little tub of nacho cheese to drip the curly fries in because they have small plastic containers full of nacho cheese you get to dip your fries in
We used to just ask for cheddar fries back in the day and they would give you a cup
I used to do this as well. This is an Arby’s pro move.
@@ThatCronus another pro move is to get a cup of the French dip au jus on the side if you get a roast beef or beef n cheddar for like 50 cents
@@cbogolo They still do but charge for the cups. $1.65 for 2
Yes you need the horsey sauce! ❤
Arbys chicken is really good as well.
love arby's sauce [buy it whenever i find bottles of it to use on roast beef subs] and jamoca shakes
Didn't know you could buy it - just looked and they have both sauces at my Walmart. I will def be getting some!
I buy bottles of their horsey sauce and use it on bratwursts.
I like the Super roast beef - has shredded lettuce, tomato (if you want it) and Catalina dressing. 😋
Schlotzskys makes grast dark rye Rubins
My favorite sandwiches at Arby’s are the French Dip and the Reuben. And I adore their curly fries.
Arby's has improved tremendously since the early 90s when even the Simpsons dumped on them. " Im soo hungry I could eat at Arby's ".
One of my favorite quotes from that show. "Oh my god. She really is hungry."
Their hay day was the 1970s.
Still not as good as they were in the 70's and early 80's... I remember when they had a steam thing built into their prep tables. They weighed the meat, put a bun on the table, gave it quick blast of steam and it was then put together so it came to you warm thru and thru.
And the other time they mentioned it in the show was when Marge said, “People do crazy things on TV... like eat at Arby’s!” 🤣
Enjoy...
The curly fries dipped in the cheddar dip is amazing
I don't know if I'd say it's better than the Greek places around here. But it's definitely a solid choice.
Fully agree. I have one place in town that makes a better one, but for a chain restaurant the gyro is absolutely solid, and is one of my go-to's when I go to Arby's.
Such a shame Baby H didn't like the curly fries...😂
🤣🤣 She seemed to like everything except the sauces next time try the cheese sauce
I adore original Arbys and their sauce.😊
I want Mrs. H classic roast beef with extra sauce.

some mustards have horseradish in it. that's why you feel like it's a mustard. otherwise it's a horseradish cream sauce from Arby's.
Elana is going *HAM* on that Milkshake
😂
Reuben with 1000 islands dressing.. best sandwich ever.
Arby's curly fries absolutely rock.
Arby fries are definitely the best fries out of any fast food chain.
Jack in the Box curly fries are way better than Arby's.
Elana is going to get a brain freeze loving that jamocha shake ❤
It took me a while to warm up to horseradish myself. I always get the French Dip at Arby's with Au Jus and dip everything in it 🤣
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
If u go back u have to try the beef and cheddar as well as the mozzarella sticks. Best things at Arbys.
besides the food tasting good, the best thing about Arby's is all the coupons they send in the mail to get their food cheaper!!!! when I was in college (mid life career change) a several years ago, I used to get the 10 sandwiches for $10 on my way home every other day. I would eat two there, then a few later in the day, then a few more that night while studying, and maybe a few in the morning before heading to college. it was great and I always had coupons since they mailed so many out...
Your little girl is freckin' adorable.
one thing I enjoy about your content yall like discovering food together as a family and have fun whilst doing so. Food is family fun. Great stuff.
My favorite is the beef and cheddar and second would be the Gyro (year-O)!
Y'all are such a lovely and wholesome family. I really do enjoy watching your videos!
And me and my brother used to get classic roast beef all the time, and we take the top off the bun and sprinkle a whole packet of Arby sauce throughout the layers of meat
Look at that beautiful absolutely perfect totally clear sunny Sky I bet you don't see that much in England 🌞🌞🌞
Nope, especially not today
@@Mrhandfriendsthe entire East Coast United States right now is getting beautiful sunny weather and it's in the 80s and 90s all the way from Florida to Maine❤
Get Reuben every time
A trip to Arby's is always a win.
I love Arby's! My fave is Roast beef and cheddar with horsey sauce; and the French Dip... 😋😋😋
The Greek wrap is called something that sounds very close to hero, no g sound. And yes, an authentic Greek gyro is made with lamb and yes, it is also called a donner kabob.
I’ve had the classic roast beef. I love Arby’s. I’m going soon after watching you eat. I have an Arby’s about one mile down the road. Love to you all.
Alana is going to have the best palate and taste buds of any kid ever!!
Elena is getting so grown up
9 times out of 10, if I'm getting fast-food, I go to Arby's. Their menu is just so diverse, and everything tastes good. Other than Taco Bell and occasionally Captain D's, Arby's is almost the only fast-food I eat.
Captain D's? You definitely live in the southeast because the only time I saw Captain D's was when I lived between SC and NY for 6 years.

The Beef and Cheddar with extra Arby’s sauce and Curly Fries are the only way to go, btw… your daughter is absolutely adorable
Ah dang, your Patreons did you guys dirty not recommending the smoked brisket sandwich, I'll choose that one 9/10 over any other sandwich they have.
Mr. H would have liked the Black Cow shake, it has almost a root beer taste.
So happy to see you’re enjoying yourselves and I think we all figured out that you three are foodies
My son and I love Arby's. The market street sandwiches are great too we love the jalapeños poppers
I was late for the Live! Bummer.
Gone are the days where Baby H just watched you two pass the food between you. Miss Elana is right up, digging in, too! ❤
From our last US road trip I cannot get the Arby’s thing out my head: WE HAVE THE MEATS! 😂 Great video
lol ! Thanks buddy !! Hey you need to come to England for that collab ! 🏴 ❤️ 🏴 ❤️ 🇺🇸
Jason's Deli and McAllister's both have good Reubens
Love McAllister's sandwiches!
Was disappointed by McAllister's a lot while I lived in SC but their baked potatoes are gorgeous.
