I didn't realize during my first time watching how intelligent the captain is, humans in this movie were intentionally made to look funny but this guy knows everything about that ship, even after 700 years using autopilot he still learned how to pilot it, he's interested in earth, he used all materials he had to learn about something that didn't really have anything to do with him but he did it anyways because he's a human and humans belong on Earth
Wall-E is one of the greatest films I've ever seen. Simple, funny, sad, and beautiful. An amalgamation of commitment for the viewers that has been paralleled few times.
I love that there is no "evil bad guy" in this movie. Auto is just following instructions coded in him BnL might have destroyed the planet but they did make the ships to save humanity, they actually stayed with the clean-up but had to leave because the planet was too polluted to be habitable.

Also, TH-cam back then didn't have comment threads or the voting system it does today, so comments were important.
11 years ago = 2009. I think there actually were plenty of memes in 2009, if I remember correctly. It's just that they were seen only as "viral videos"
Are we so far gone that people have already forgotten the memes of old? People have been shitposting since before any of us were born, but I’ll stick with modern times instead of going back to Ancient Greece. I remember when Leeroy Jenkins was a hit around 2005 I think, and that was one of the first ones to break free from the internet sphere and garner some mainstream attention. Anyway what I’m getting at is that memes aren’t a recent thing, most people just don’t remember the old ones because they weren’t there for it. In 10 years no one is gonna remember any of the shit we’re laughing about today and it’ll make you question whether or not it even happened at all.
This movie has been forgotten for years, but this is the most inspiring Pixar movie ever for me: the world building, the atmosphere, the premise, the environment design, and the theme of making past mistakes and facing the consequences makes this among the best movies Pixar has ever made.
I like how EVE can express so much emotion through just her eye-simulator screen and a few grunts and groans. The robot was designed to find plants and keep them alive inside a womb-like hydroponic chamber for extended periods. So when EVE loses the plant she reacts as if she has just lost a child. When Wall-E shows no understanding why EVE is upset this makes EVE upset because the garbage-compacting robot is ignorant to how her programming works. EVE's only purpose is keeping and delivering living plants while Wall-e's only purpose is squishing and stacking detritus. The fundamental design of Wall-e is however very similar to EVE in regard to both robots having the ability to store the plant inside their bodies for safe keeping. In regard to this Wall-e learns why the plant is so important to EVE and he learns to act like an EVE. In the end EVE too becomes familiar with Wall-e's view of the world. She notices that there are things among the trash that are fascinating such as the various treasures and cultural art/knowledge of love and kindness that Wall-e collected in his storage trailer home.

Notice that the ship's name is said weird because the president's message is a pre-recorded one made for every ship. This helps establish that there's multiple life ships out there.
The worst part is, the Axiom was the one ship advertised as having a regenerative food buffet, because it was the ship for rich people. All the ships were sceduled to return in five years, but their plan to incinerate all the junk failed so badly that the CEO sent a message to all the autopilots to effectively take over and not return to earth. the Axiom may very well house the last of the human race - all the others died of starvation a long time ago. Also, Eve is such high tech compared to all the other robots not because her technology is 700 years advanced. Making the ships took so long that the technology advanced enough to have such varied advancements in the ship with no compatability issues. Determining Earth's sustainability was literally BnL's lowest priority, but the cleanup was their first. Pretty dark all things considered.
NumlockTed It’s the president/CEO who says it while explaining how to return to earth. “Place the plant in your ships hollo-detector and the !axium! Will automatically return to earth.
3:46 Notice how he says “going to earth” and not “going back home” - he says “earth” as if it’s some weird land he’s never had any interest in- like a kid having to do his driving test then not having to do a driving test.
They’ve been out there for 700 years. That’s about 6-7 generations of people that lived, died, and were born on the ship since its launch in 2110 Sorry...nerd moment
Bekim Rexha I believe it's off-screen, but Auto stole it from Eve and ordered Go-4 (the little robot) to dispose the plant, since it compromises with Auto's Directive, "A113 - Do not return to Earth". She didn't really lose it, but because she was rebooted, she was unconscious when he took it, so when she woke, she had no recollection of him taking the plant.

Loved the thought of chilling on an abandoned earth with all that futuristic stuff like wall e, even had a toy version I thought would come with a Lazer between the eyes, but now as an adult, we are all about worrying, as a kid, I wasn't so worried about being alone on a trash planet I could explore and meet a cool robot who knew what's up, I even know people now who still think like I used to legitimately until they think a bit more about it, but I would still like to see that movie for the first time. Sorry if I did something though to trigger, wall-2 or a remake will never replace my first experience with it, wish I could watch every movie as a kid, but I can stay as a kid as long as I remember how, first impressions matter everywhere, with songs, people, ideas, and idk, anything.

When you upload a scene from a movie in low quality with an unrelated, misspelled title you'd expect there to be some sort of meme at the end
11 years ago, this was TH-cam. Just an archive of small clips in movies, shows, skits, let's plays, music, and music covers. Memes didn't really exist 11 years ago. The "You Don't Say?" meme wasn't around yet to launch the meme culture forward.
@@nerco8194 Jokes, yes. But not widespread jokes. Most jokes were labeled as inside jokes to the communities involved. If you brought a Tobuscus Minecraft joke to a Pewds Minecraft video, many people were confused as to what you were saying, or the hybrid community members would reply something enthusiastic to finding another member of the opposite community in the comments. Also, TH-cam back then didn't have comment threads or the voting system it does today, so comments were important.
Eric Gibson Stop talking out your ass.

This is a beautiful breakdown and I’m glad I scrolled down to see it.
