People debating the morality of Metro Man going into hiding seem to be not realizing that he knew meganind wasn’t actually that bad of a guy, just like Roxanne. He didn’t abandon the city, he just abandoned a charade
Exactly. MM depended on that play because playing the villain was all he was raised for, but it didn't work out because he's good natured. Same for Metroman, good nature, but his life doesnt depends on their theatric, so he just give up the play and do something he wants (and MM as Metroman know at core is good)
Yep, without him, Megamind has no reason to be bad, similar to Superman with Lex Luthor, Metroman is a big part of why he even plays the villain. When you really think about it, he created a way better hero than himself by faking his death, Megamind is a genius who has the ability to do more for the world than just clean up the streets Unlike Lex, he can find the cure to cancer without using it to flex on Superman 😂
@@CS-om3kjI think a better comparison is Batman and Joker. While Joker is, by all means, actually evil and does bad stuff because he likes it, he really does most of the things he does solely because he knows Batman will try to stop him. Makes sense that he wanted to become a musician, since music is probably one of the few things his powers can't make him automatically good at. So if he became a good musician he would know for sure he earned it.
That was the point, to megamind was always a fight of the century, to metroman was only a silly game that he grew tired of. Thats why he was burn out and choose music instead (the only thing he wasnt good at)
In the beginning of the movie, it was implied that megamind was meant to be the hero to begin with. But Metroman forced himself into the role. He was never meant to be a hero in the first place and it was also implied again that Megamind wanted to be good but understood that the best thing he could do was give people hope as the villain that could never win. Truth is, given his technology, he could have come up with a way to really kill Metroman if he actually wanted to. He created a way to give someone Metroman’s powers. I think Metroman was in the right. The city can’t always depend on Metroman, and putting him on a pedestal was their doom. He’s his own person and he can choose what he wants to do.
True, but without a hero to protect Metro City like Metro Man, the city is now under attack by Tighten (a much more evil supervillain than Megamind) and even that Megamind himself doesn't have a purpose in life anymore. I can understand that Metro Man just wanted a normal life to be happy, but what will Metro City and Megamind now do with their lives without Metro Man?

It's actually quite a complicated moral dilemma, in my opinion. Morally speaking, Metro Man’s obligation to continue saving lives depends on how one weighs the competing values of duty, personal happiness, and social responsibility. Utilitarianism would likely argue that he should continue saving lives because the harm caused by his abandonment would outweigh his personal happiness. Deontology might suggest that he has a moral duty to protect others, particularly given the special moral responsibility his powers confer. Virtue ethics would look to the kind of person he is and whether abandoning his heroic duties reflects a failure to live up to his virtuous potential. Social contract theory would frame his decision in terms of breaking an implicit agreement to protect society, though it could also allow for renegotiating that contract based on his personal choice. Ultimately, Metro Man’s choice highlights a tension between self-interest and altruism, between personal fulfillment and social duty. There is no definitive answer to whether he is morally obliged to continue saving people-different ethical frameworks lead to different conclusions. However, the question invites deep reflection on the nature of moral responsibility and the cost of individual freedom in the context of immense power.

What's funny to me is that Metroman, the Guy who can not only fly off the ground but also move so fast that time seems to be frozen from his perspective, got caught by a simple noice caused by a footstep. This man must have forgot what he could do in his retirement.
All these essays about how Metroman is the perfect speedster and can practically stop time, only for him to be unable to get out of a room without them noticing him.
I just realized that other than creating Tighten, Megamind never really did anything totally malicious or anything, he just got bored with the whole"take over the city" thing also there weren't any other threats to worry about so it was probably a good thing that Metro Man faked his death or something
This movie actually teaches us a very valuable lesson it teaches us that superpowers can either make a superhero or a super villain it depends on who's using them this movie teaches us that superpowers should only be used for the greater good and not for personal game
MEGAMIND: ...but there's a mad man out there destroying our... YOUR city!! ROXANNE: (Groans) How could you do this?! 🏆 Urgh!! 🏆 The people of the city relied on you... 🔊 ...and you deserted them!! Yaahh!!! 🎸 You left us in the hands of... HIM!!! No offense.
Tbh Superheroes are just like other people, they have their own choices and their own life and careers they want to pursuit. So I can’t blame Metro Man for that because of his desire to make his own choices.
Unfortunately as a child Metro Man would publicly use his powers so there was no way for him to adopt an alter ego in his adult life as people already knew who he was. It's never said outright but is implied that he took the name metro man and donned the costume to mimic comic book hero aesthetics.
He probably didn't. I mean everyone knew about his powers from the start. How could he have a double life like that? Now if he had kept his powers secret, and Megamind try to create an identity for himself to hide in when out of Prison, they probably could've made friends with each other outside of their battles of Good and Evil.
I suppose when Metro man quit, he could have just kidnapped Megamind to prevent him from causing more chaos. Then again, maybe he knew Megamind was more than a villain and wanted him to grow. And idk, does Metro man have to continue fighting for the city? Maybe if he resigned officially, would that be better? Or would people give him backlash, but are they in the right to do so? So many questions.
Metro Man turned around, and they scream as they recognized him by his voice: “Hey.” Megamind and Roxanne were amazed he was alive. He explained: “You both deserve the truth.” He felt like he didn’t have a choice for years, but soon realized he did have a choice. He faked his death, and took a new name. I love Megamind’s look as Roxanne is ranting. Her final line of anger “You left us in the hands of HIM!” *To Megamind* “No offense.” & his response “No, I’m with you.” In the end, Megamind has a complete change of heart, & made his choice to become a hero. He had fallen for Roxanne and deep down, he didn’t want the city destroyed.
Bro, imagine how painfully _awkward_ it would be if you went to make a sandwich and came back to find people you ghosted in your living room. This is the most Human moment in any superhero movie😂

He was tired. Like Elise from Encanto. He can rest. He should.
dont compare this good movie to a bad one
@@BnglMcgnglMcgilTh3rd 😂😂 except that Encanto was a good movie, one of the only decent ones that Disney has released during COVID
Atleast it wasn't as bad as Dolores, super hearing isn't always a blessing.
U mean Luisa?
There wasn't a character named Elise.
I just realized, Metro Man can move at super speed, but in his panic he doesn't and steps on the squeaky board.
"You're horrible!"
"Granted you have talent" lol
What's funny to me is that Metroman, the Guy who can not only fly off the ground but also move so fast that time seems to be frozen from his perspective, got caught by a simple noice caused by a footstep. This man must have forgot what he could do in his retirement.
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain
Will Ferrell
0:36 Wtf is happening with the sandwich xD
One of life's great mysteries.
Good find
Megamind was right; he is a ghost!
0:43
“Hey.” 😁
Megamind and roxy: ( SCREAMING)
Roxy: You're alive?!
@@GuynamedJaylen
Metro man: "I'm alive."
More like "Hello everybody! My name is Markiplier and welcome to my house"
@ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
All these essays about how Metroman is the perfect speedster and can practically stop time, only for him to be unable to get out of a room without them noticing him.
Rocksane: "YOURE HORRIBELE!"
Megamind: "Granted you have talent"
🤣
Metro Man had been needlessly cruel to Megamind when they were young children.
Megamind deserved an apology for that.
Roxanne throwing that huge speaker at Metro Man like it is nothing 😂
I just realized that other than creating Tighten, Megamind never really did anything totally malicious or anything, he just got bored with the whole"take over the city" thing also there weren't any other threats to worry about so it was probably a good thing that Metro Man faked his death or something
0:31 Metroman: Oh, it's them
That is the moment he knew he f@$# up.
I love how metro man has super speed and the ability to fly, yet he chooses to sneak out on foot when he discovers people in his house….
Discovering Metro man was still alive may have been the most funniest reveal ever. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
0:35 me when I don't have speedster super powers to hide myself.
0:30 When my mum and dad talking something but they didn’t know my sick is fake but I walk normally
Metroman quit because he wanted to be a TH-camr
Yeah, the M also stands for Markiplier. He chose a great TH-camr name.
This movie actually teaches us a very valuable lesson it teaches us that superpowers can either make a superhero or a super villain it depends on who's using them this movie teaches us that superpowers should only be used for the greater good and not for personal game
It's probably the most thought-provoking funniest "kid movies" I've ever seen. They don't make them like this anymore.
There is only one Megamind
and it's this one
0:39 Well hello everybody my name is Markiplier
3:21
Roxanne : "you're horrible"
Megamind : " Granted , you have talent"
MEGAMIND: ...but there's a mad man out there destroying our... YOUR city!!
ROXANNE: (Groans) How could you do this?! 🏆 Urgh!! 🏆 The people of the city relied on you... 🔊 ...and you deserted them!! Yaahh!!! 🎸 You left us in the hands of... HIM!!! No offense.
@@danieloconnor9219 Megamind: No, I’m with you. Look we need your help.
After some years down the road, metro man can’t handle being music man so he became Markiplier 😂
I forgot how many slick one-liners this movie had. IT WAS AWESOME
when you accidentally found Markiplier basement:
0:36 Ah yes the one loose wood floorboard in a stone floor in the Metro pad
The stone is obviously made out of wood
I didn’t think about that
Everyone has a choice in life.
Megamind finally had a change of heart, & chose to be a hero, because he had fallen for Roxanne, & deep down inside he didn’t want the city destroyed.
Hello everybody my names is Markiplier and welcome back to Megamind!
3:28 How could you do this?! Oh! The people of the city relied on you and you deserted them! You left us in the hands of him!
“No offense.” I love Megamind’s face and pose when she’s ranting, and his response: “No, I’m with you.”
Tbh Superheroes are just like other people, they have their own choices and their own life and careers they want to pursuit. So I can’t blame Metro Man for that because of his desire to make his own choices.
Doesn't metroman have a alter ego? He should spice up that life instead of what he done.
Unfortunately as a child Metro Man would publicly use his powers so there was no way for him to adopt an alter ego in his adult life as people already knew who he was. It's never said outright but is implied that he took the name metro man and donned the costume to mimic comic book hero aesthetics.
He doesn't seem to have a Clark Kent identity, which was probably a huge part of the problem.
He probably didn't. I mean everyone knew about his powers from the start. How could he have a double life like that? Now if he had kept his powers secret, and Megamind try to create an identity for himself to hide in when out of Prison, they probably could've made friends with each other outside of their battles of Good and Evil.
The thumbnail of this video kills me. 😂💀
3:28 thru 3:36 Roxanne threw things at metro man and he was just like meh it just broke it all
Bro was literally 🗿
I suppose when Metro man quit, he could have just kidnapped Megamind to prevent him from causing more chaos. Then again, maybe he knew Megamind was more than a villain and wanted him to grow. And idk, does Metro man have to continue fighting for the city? Maybe if he resigned officially, would that be better? Or would people give him backlash, but are they in the right to do so? So many questions.
Honestly? Underrated detail, but Roxanne picks up a speaker and throws it at Metroman.
Speakers are heavy. She lifts.
I guess it’s showing Metroman doesn’t want anything to do with superhero stuff, he could’ve hid with his super speed but he didn’t
When you realize he has super speed and could’ve easily left without making a noise
02:49 that little giggles.
I love that Metroman did like two weeks of research and soul searching in the time it took megamind to warm up his laser😂😂
Bro, imagine how painfully _awkward_ it would be if you went to make a sandwich and came back to find people you ghosted in your living room. This is the most Human moment in any superhero movie😂
To be fair, his guitar-playing is pretty good, it's just his singing that sucks ass.
Also love that as soon Roxanne blurted out how horrible he was, Megamind jumped up to soften the blow.
“I have eyes that can see right through lead”
That’s such a great joke and dig at a how Superman famously can’t see through Lead
I guess Metro Man was just tired of being a Superhero, so he decided to pursue something that he enjoys; Element of music.
Metroman is fast enough to leave immediately in less than a second and they wont know he was there
Damn. Megamind is a really good person. I'd have hated Metro Man. Obviously it wasn't his fault but I would have hated him for encouraging others to view me as a villain and running away.
My man has superspeed that made him live 1 week in a moment but couldn't bother to turn it on when he didn't want to be caught 😂😂
bro has super speed and decided "yeah let's take it slow outta here"
Man I wish we got an actual sequel 😔
we not gonna talk abt him just casually taking every hit she threw at him
3:28 i say both Megamind and metro man deserved that! mainly because metro man was kinda selfish to abandon the people for personal gain
I mean his way of thinking is logical he can't just do what people wants him to do
@@RororinoRikakado true but still you cant just leave! thats like Winston Churchill abandoning his position during ww2 and letting hitler rule the world
That's why we have a quote

@@kiwoxgen9929 Buddy, that is the wrong emoji for a quote like that 😵💫
@@mebhisntatownie Winston Churchill chose to be there though; rose to his position. Metro man was born into the hero gig and thus feels he didn't have a choice.
So your analogy doesn't hold up.
Bro had an existencial crisis in a few seconds but he couldn't get away from them before they notice him 💀
Megamind: “What’s your weakness”
Metroman: “It’s ____”
Beats titan, film ends. That simple 😆
This Movie is a underrated Jewel, for my Opinion.
Gotta love how his suit also has super speed physics.
I think the final battle could have been even better if finally Metroman also joins the fight
but this time wears a mask and says "I'm Metroman's cousin and am just passing by and helping you earthlings one time, and after that I'm going back to my planet!"
After winning and leaving, Metroman can go back to his Music! 🙂
And OH MAN, he is Really bad at that ☹
Are we all going to ignore the fact that Metro Man just sang the greatest song of all time?
I love how unphased he is when Roxanne throws stuff at him
Megamind acknowledging that Metro Man had talent was wholesome.
Markiplier is that you?
Can spend the equivalent of days contemplating his life and reading self-help books within the span of a few seconds, but can't sneak out of a room without alerting two people?
Not even The Flash has this kind of speed 😂
Bro can move faster then speed of light and still tries to sneak away😂
Best of dream works anime.
Such a fun movie. When the kids and I visit my parents, they want to watch Megamind. Every. Single. Time. We've seen it at least a couple dozen times. lol
How could he fake his own death
Watch the full movie its amazing

I’ve seen this video so many times and only just now caught on to megamind switching his cape to metro man’s.
