Thank god someone says 'fix' not abandon. 1) Centralized Econ systems curiously come with Authoritarianism, famines and secret police. 2) Capitalism like anything in real life exists on a spectrum. Such that even China, and Russia have dabbled with it, lifting hundreds of millions of people out of abject poverty. 3) The Capitalist, econ system generally precedes a more liberal democratic, or humanist, political ideology. 4) It has a built in, Socio-political safe guard. Political Control and Wealth's Power are at least officially, distinct. Yes, that's only the theory. But, please note that in Centralized Economies, Xi and Putin types exist as the economic elite of elites, and the direct control apparatus. Some group has both levers of power, and they're often hereditary. And there is no impetus for the concerns of the masses. 'The Great Leader', The Cult Of Personality, is never voted out. The elite's products and services are never boycotted, or addressed via government.

I can understand capitalists seeking ways to fix capitalism, but they're wasting their time because capitalism is built intrinsically on human selfishness. Our only hope is to step outside that and behave as community, as many have done alreadyi.

I weep for you, and all adults who can't understand real life. Every other econ system is built on the idea that people will put the welfare of strangers, above themselves. That people always follow laws, rules. Even Capitalism has the flaw, that it has people. Cowards, thieves, racists, misogynists, greed bound, and more of all the same. But, capitalism has a built in safe guard, even if only theoretically. The levers of power, Political Control and Wealth, are distinct, separate. Planned econs, China, Russia, generally result in authoritarianism, as political leaders also are the billionaires, and having both levers of power?' Can do whatever they please to whomever they please. Putin disappears poor anti-war protestors, has dissident Generals planes shot down. Even disappears other billionaire rivals. God, it genuinely brings a lump in my throat to realize, you can't understand what people are. Please, pick up a credible news paper. Read a world history text. And if you can find exceptions, note that they are most often very ethnically homogenous, small population centers, whose protection and over riding wealth depends on a larger nation, and or an underdeveloped one.

How to fix a system based on theft and exploitation? Answer: you can’t….

Please try to understand, genuinely try to understand. All econ systems can degrade to theft and exploitation. They are designed and shaped by people, who can input those traits. Capitalism was a response to Monarchy. The Divine Right of Kings, preceded it, as a dominate econ system, as was much as the name implies. In theory, with Capitalism's adoption, in theory, everyone can effect their own financial lives. Not just an Emperor or a government. But, again from cowardice, ignorance, greed, etc, an econ system can get manipulated. Putin should not be a billionaire, ruler for life, as his people revert to the horrors of the defunct Soviet Union. In capitalism, in theory, theory at least, Political Control and Wealth's Power are separate. Other systems without this basic building block generally degrade to some group or one person having political power and economic power, that are transferable at their discretion. Hereditary. Note how Xi, Jong Il, etc econ/poly systems leadership are usually hereditary. The closet to foolproof econ system is one with an informed, empowered and engaged populace.

Replace it with socialism. It's better for workers, and when workers flourish, the economy will grow. With capitalism workers survive, with socialism workers thrive.

You know that's a lie. Or should know its a lie. In my lifetime, one of the most horrific famines the world has known came in pre-Psuedo Capitalist China (1959-61) Starvation was a present danger for 1980s Russia. Hundreds of millions of people of both nations have been lifted out of abject poverty by adoption, however timidly of Capitalist principles. And no a pure econ system doesn't exist. Even America, has free education at levels, free health care at levels, controls on the market. Government Oil Reserves, and lands (Some of its public lands are larger than many nations). Government owned businesses, loans and more. Even its not a pure anything. And there is no purely socialist nation. North Korea claims a pure communism but who would care if starvation and political hostages exist there.

@@chieftain5571 I'm going by the definition in the dictionary. I don't care about corrupt governments. America has probably the most corrupt government in the world. America was successful after WW2 for various reasons, and now things are starting to even out across the world. America can't compete anymore. That's the reason for the tariffs. Free market for capitalist oligarchs, but no freedom for consumers.

@@chieftain5571 The basic principle are not lies. Look up socialism in the dictionary. We already have a system that is massively controlled by an elite few oligarchs, and this system is more capitalist than socialist by far.
