This thing is a beast! It'll spin loaded with water before it drains it and spins again. Never seen that before. It's definitely a solid machine. A bit noisy but it's a washer after all.
Bucky, I just went to Metro and bought a Speed Queen TR7 top loader. I checked out the FF7 - it was HUGE and would not fit well in my laundry room. Even getting it in there would be a challenge. Looks like a beast of a unit, though! I believe I will be very happy with the top loading TR7, even though it lacks the true agitator system of the TC5. At my age and being retired I no longer have lots of really dirty clothes in any case, and the TR7 will be much gentler on the fabrics than the TC5 or my current (defunct now) Maytag from the 1990's. Thanks for your help, I am really glad to get a Speed Queen with their legendary reliability.
@@Bunkysworkshop I surely will. It is coming next Wednesday and I can't wait to put it through its paces. I almost went for the matching DR7 dryer also, but our old Maytag dryer - the first one with an electronic control panel, is still going strong!
I just ordered this washer the other day. I'm excited to get it. I've had LG in the past and have had very good luck with them. Now a family of 4 with 2 kids that think they need to change every hour we have so much laundry. I'm confident this washer will handle all of this with no problem.
congratulations 👍 I really hope your family enjoys this machine for years to come. Now make sure when it gets installed that they truly level it. Please let me know how it goes and how the family is liking the machine. 😀
@@Bunkysworkshopwill do! I just couldn’t bring myself to buy the matching dryer at the moment but a dryer is a dryer for the most part lol. Just gonna find a white one to “match”.
@@Bunkysworkshop I totally forgot to ask. Do you get a true HOT water cycle when you choose hot water? I remember my LG mixed with cold so it was "warm" but not a true HOT water wash when selected.
I get excited when I see this washer in action because it's an adorable machine. My friend even likes it and she says that it looks so cute. You picked a great machine.
Thank you 😊. I was a little nervous when purchasing this machine. I had a GE front loader and it did ok but definitely needed some tweaking. Now this SQ just knocked it out of the park for me. Every load I’ve put in it comes out perfect and none of that pausing and thinking and checking it just gets to work.
@@Bunkysworkshop That washer sure did get to work. That Heavy Duty Cycle was amazing though. As I was watching it do its job sometimes I wonder why Speed Queen didn't thought of including a built-in heater. I think that would be a great thing to have for their front loaders because that would eliminate the use of bleach for owners. Now their TR and their FF7 washers are in Matt Black.
Bunky aren't these machines amazing??? Last week I took a chance and washed my big 5ft.x 7ft. rubber backed throw rug on the heavy duty cycle, with warm wash, medium soil and medium spin and it came out great!!! The rug has a little weight to it and I wanted to see just how commercial this washer really was??? I was standing right there waiting to hit the pause button when it went into a spin thinking that it was gonna go out of balance and bang but nothing at all, It handled the rug just fine with no issues what so ever and I was so amazed with it's performance that I just have to give this machine a 5 star rating... Thanks for the video and have a great weekend...
This is so crazy because I just did all my rugs. And yes I was waiting for the moment that all was going to go wrong but it never happened. GO Speed Queen 👍👍👍
My 30+ year old Maytag washer is finally unrepairable because the main bearing is on its way out (just like a car - more and more noise on spin over time) and my Maytag repairman (have Maytag dryer also) says they are not allowed to replace this part any more (no access to part). So I am going to get a Speed Queen, as current Maytag just doesn't cut it any more. I was going for the TR7 top load as I have heard about all this mold and odor etc issues with front load, but I believe after watching your video and reading the comments I may get the FF7 front loader like you did. Many thanks for this video and your comments back to folks. I am an enthusiastic new subscriber now. Any comments about this?
@@jeffwilliams7351 Thanks for stopping in and watching my video. Absolutely 👍. I have done a video on this if you wish to take a look at it. We have a king size bed with a summer spread and a winter comforter and they both worked out perfectly.

Do the SQ front loaders get moldy like all the other front loaders? Do they require extra or more frequent maintenance to prevent mildew? If so, what do you do to prevent mildew? I really wanted to purchase this washer but the mold issues that I got in my prior front loaders steered me away. My prior fl were not Speed Queen. I waiting to receive a SQ top loader TC5. Thank you
This is my second front loader washer and we’ve had no mold smell. The trick is when you are done with the washer just keep the door and the detergent drawer open for air flow. The mold problem happens when you close the door and detergent drawer when done and all that moisture in a dark place spells mold problems. I believe this is in most of the owners manuals but not many people read them. lol 😂
@@jeffwilliams7351 I love the old school top loader and it’s a beast of a machine. However now that I’ve been using the front loader I’m sold on it. It has many more options and holds larger loads. I also feel it does a better job in many cases. What are you thinking at this point?
@@Bunkysworkshop First wanted to verify if you have the TR7 or TC5 top loader. The TC5 is like my old Maytag, while the TR7 has a touchpad and finlike agitator that supposedly moves water through the clothes and is much gentler on them than the TC5 or my current very old Maytag. This would be the obvious buy for me, it is what I am used to. But I am drawn to the gentler handling of clothes by the TR7 and for sure the FF7. 90% of my clothes are all cotton wash and wear (JosABanks shirts, etc) with some exercise wear and blends my wife wears. All three machines sold by a Metro Appliance near me, will go see them on Friday.
@@BunkysworkshopMany thanks for your recommendation! I am now leaning toward the FF7 front loader also. And remember to leave the door ajar every time (could this be an action that over time effects the door closing problem you had with your first FF7? Bunky, have you tried the soak function yet? I’m having an issue with the dispenser leaking fluid. It appears to be sudsing up the detergent in the regular wash dispenser and allowing some fluid to leak. So far, it’s only happening with Soak, but I’ll try prewash when I get around to it.
@@BunkysworkshopI tried it with the pre wash setting today and got the same leakage. I’m gonna assume it’s something with the drawer and how it dispenses water during these two settings. I’ll have to get around to contacting speed Queen for a remedy.
