You seem like a pretty nice guy. Quite a bit of TH-camrs are doing open box reviews and not tool reviews. Sort of like a out of the movie theater reaction versus a movie review. Would be nice to see a review on its actual use in comparison after about 3 months of testing. the way it comes out of a box does not matter to a Tradesman
I agree completely with you. Some of the more popular videos I have done updates on. I have tools I have been using for over 25 years. I have considered going through the shop reviewing the different tools I use. The problem is that many tools change but look the same. If I am reviewing an old model, I might say it is great quality, but they have made the new model cheaper. It is difficult to know what will help most people. I am trying to get away from tool review and go back to doing projects. Again, it is all about trying to find a balance. Unfortunately, I have a full-time job. I do woodworking and construction on the side. Then, trying to make videos is like having 3 full-time jobs. I never thought I would make any money for videos. I was just trying to help pit some information out to help others. I still spend about as much as I get on the channel. If the channel keeps growing, I will be able to dedicate more time to it. I feel like I am at the point that it could happen soon. Thanks for watching, and thanks for the feedback.

I bought several tools from Temu. Most of them have turned out ok. Not the best not the worst. But, I just got a set of chisels yesterday and they were the worst. The metal was ground to a chisel form on a rough grinder and left like that. The blades are so bad they can’t be called blades. The price was small at ten dollars so sometimes you get what you pay for. But overall the stuff I get is worth the gamble. I will say that now, the prices are going up very fast so going back to amazon and getting them faster is looking better and better.
You are dead on. Many of their tools are good for the price. They are not the highest quality, and some are poor quality. There have been a few that I sent back because of the low quality. The good thing is there were no issues getting a refund. I do compare and see if what I am ordering is cheaper or the same on Amazon.

It does not fog. I did have some issues with the filter retainer.
I bought 4 they are very good but inclined to fog up, they need the bottom filters but very safe
I've always considered buying from temu but heard people talk about extremely long shipping times. Is that true?
It is about a week. They give you the expected delivery date when you order. If it does arrive on time, they give you a credit. I have had an order spit in two packages. Both arrived a day late. I got 2 credits on one order.
I feel like the Temu prices have gone way up now that they have started getting some market share.
When I first really heard about timu was an article about how they were trying to gain market share and at set a goal to reach more cells than shine. They were losing money on every cell. That's why I made my first quarter I wanted to get in before all the cells were gone a lot of the prices on the more expensive items have drastically increased. I will always double check with Amazon and can sometimes get the same items the next day will be price. But for many items they still have some great deals.
I am sorry to tell you that the "knipex" , or similar tools, aren't made the same way as before. if i were you, i wouldn't be counting on them to last as long as you believe they should. everything nowadays is disposable and all is in the marketing 😀
I agree that most things are not made the same. So far, I have only one pair of Knipex that disappointed me.
I had purchased from Temu early part of last year (2023). I have stopped buying on Temu because I find a few issues -
1. The prices have gone way up and there isn't much price difference between buying on Temu vs. Amazon.
2. There is a deceptive listing practice. You initially get a page that shows extremely lucrative pricing. When you actually open the page you find the attractive price corresponds to some small accessory. The actual item is priced way up and very comparable to Amazon. May be a few pennies less but then I have to spend time to find the real item and its price.
3. The reviews for the item are scant and terse - really doesn't shed much light.

I have had many of the same issues you've had. I also have found on Amazon where they list a cheaper item and then the real item is much more expensive. It's not as prevalent as it is on t e m u. And a lot of the prices have gone up. That is why I have changed the things that I purchase from them. And I will double check the prices on Amazon because like you said many times you can find them for the same price with next day shipping.
Just for fairness. Many prices on Amazon have shot up. I am finding Lee Valley to be very competitive on a number of items. Other local suppliers are edging both out, on some items. There is no one solution, chevk around.
With Temu if the price is too good to be true, move on to a more expensive version.
Agreed. You are not going to get a $200 tool for $2.
I have been buying from Temu. I am happy with the relation price-quality. But beware and check the sizes, if the data is not there maybe go to another site

I don't like the trade agreements our government has set up. If I buy from almost any other store here in America I will still get products from China. I get comments from people all the time saying they don't buy from China sent from their Iphone that was made in China. The US imports over 500 billion dollars worth of goods from China a year. Me cutting out the middle man on a $100 worth of goods isn't going to make a change. Looking at a politicians track record before you vote and vote based on their actions not what was said on the news the days before.

If it was the alien tape, it only sticks to smooth surfaces. There are only certain surfaces it sticks to, but one of those surfaces, every roll I have got, has worked great.
