The thing I have with this game is they are treating themselves 80% seriously. If they were not taking seriously, constantly making jokes and just making their games as silly and goofy as possible on purpose, it would be way better received, a really nice message about indie horror at the moment. On the surface, it looks completely ironic, like 100% already. But when you play the game, they are taking themselves seriously and expect you to be scared of jumbo Josh. That’s my problem, these games are LAUGHABLY bad, but the developers don’t use that to their advantage.
But why? It’s their game, they obviously want to tell their story in their manner. It’s the internet that treated their game like a joke but they have their own goals for the games and are sticking to it. They’re indie devs who want to tell the story they wanted to tell in the manner they wanted to tell it. I’m actually quite glad they stuck to their original vision instead of caving into all the hate and bullying the internet brought.
