God is ancient. We have tried to reinvent Him in modern ways but he remains the same. As the God of abraham Isaac and jacob. In man’s quest to have God as their puppet many gods were invented for personal gain but not for LOVING HIM. I trust the God of the Jews. God bless the Jewish people for giving us precious ancient writings about God.

Nothing about Jesus? God's Son is the center of it all. Every story in there leads to Jesus. Really surprised he leans so strong on the law. If 10 commandments have to be followed, don't they all? Jesus fulfilled this with the resurrection and sending his Spirit ... Love joy peace patience ... Of which there is no law! (Read Hebrews 8 explaining) that God put this in our hearts. It's no longer about morality but about Grace as a gift 🎁 eternal life if Christ is your guide. "Follow Me" - Jesus said.

Now that’s a familiar site: a synagogue with most of it’s seats empty; like the few faithful attending the Sabbath. The members learned via text like the Talmud they really only needed to show up on the High Holy Day to stay in God’s graces. This speaker opens with a question, “Does the World need Jews (to bring morality to the it)”. This is a typical self-searching and self-centered act of a Jewish academic. Such questions ultimately lead to the conclusion that the Jew is superior in their morality, but this is a lie.
It is interesting that Levinas concludes the Jewish need to preserve their Talmud as a national moral imperative. It is also interesting in Synagogue on the Sabbath they briefly reading from the Torah, but the Jews don’t want to review their Prophets’ writings. These are the messengers that were sent to the “Chosen People” warning them about their coming punishments for abandoning Yahweh. “Children I have reared, but they turned against me”, - Isaiah charge. Which of the prophets did not murder?
This speaker concludes, based on Levinas, because the Jews are the Ones that suffered such an inhumane history that “they” understand (morality) correctly. But for the Jew it is because of their turning away from their attachment with the “Supernatural” , as the speaker calls it, that suffering was sent upon them; time and time again. All this is conveniently ignored by the Jews. Levinas speaks of how World redeeming their teachings and rituals are, such as the celebration of Sukodt but is that really so profound for example. The Jews have turned their crimes and punishments into a qualification greater than what others possess to state the moral.
How terrible the Holocaust was, as if this was more terrible than the death of 20 million Russians. It’s estimated that 15 million Africans were kidnapped from Africa as slaves. Are the Jews lives more important than those or the near million murdered in The Assyrian Genocide, or the 1.3 - 3 million Cambodians killed, or the 1.3 million killed in the Ottoman Greek genocide, or the Ethnikoi Hellenes genocide for which no one knows how many were killed, or even the American indigenous peoples’ murder estimated at about 15 million, while their land was stolen? Why should we think the Jews are thus so special?
This self-absorbed self-reinterpretation is much like the man who went to a clear pond to contemplate God. Looking into the water he saw an image of himself and concluded that God was like him. A loving father, rearing children, having angery, jealous, and vengeful thoughts; committing violent deeds. His God must be like himself; the self styled religion or mythology. Should we thank the Jews for bringing morality to mankind? Thank Constantine. Note the foundational mortal code of the Jewish Ten Commandments is really stollen from the Code of Hammurabi as many of the stories in the Torah are adaptations of the previous surrounding cultures of their times.
When one knows what their teaching actually say and see what the Jews do their conclusions are laughable; such an inflated ego. I attended a synagogue for nine years not as a Jew. There is nothing for me to convert to. I stopped going when the Cantor who was a friend of mine took out a balloon mortgage on his home and left the country with another women as he left the new house payments to his wife. He did good things too, but it is a mistake to think that the Jews have moral superiority over all the other religions and points of view found in the World.
In sum thinkings like Levinas start from a superiority complex, seeking to create a new self-image for the Jewish faith that is really a fraud, but the thinking ultimately ends in a justification of their superiority complex while ignoring their guilt. Israel is no better than Nazi Germany as is demonstrated everyday in their abuse and robbery of the Palestinians. Here too Isaiah told the Jews, “To welcome the foreigner that dwells among them”.
This speaker, true to form, has provided a romantic interpretation of the impact of Emmanuel Levinas. It would be interesting to know his complete true history. It is interesting now it is the Talmud, not the Torah or Septuagint, that contains the vital essence of Judaism. The speaker makes it sound like that Talmud is some contemporary document. For the readers information is was mostly compiled and edited around the 3rd - 6th centuries AD; just another old Jewish book like others they have not mentioned in this presentation.

Quite the exact opposite of what you say.
1 Thessalonians 5:21 says, "but test everything; hold fast what is good."
The Bible tells us to question everything in the Bible and put all of The Bible to the test.
Where in the world did you get the notion that scripture should not be questioned and tested? ... from the beginning of Genesis to the end of Revelation.

@@vickieyoung7122 No actual facts??? Oh my goodness, facts are everywhere you look. Where do rocks, planets, stars, galaxies, oceans, and mountains come from? We all know it is scientifically impossible for anything to create itself.
Do you know the complexity of human DNA? The level of complexity is mind boggling. DNA, the coding of life, is so complex, if it were written on paper, it would stretch from the earth to the moon and back. The design of the human eye or brain is so complex, we are to believe these things happened by accident? How does water come into existence before water existed? Oceans? Contenents?
How does life come from non life? It is impossible.
How does a human cardiovascular system evolve over millions of years without all the other vital organs? What came first, the human blood or the human heart? You don't have one without the other. Is it really a stretch to believe a God exists?
Where does morality, the notion of good and bad, right and wrong, comes from? If we are just clumps of cells, who is to say r.a.p.e and m.u.r.d.e.r are not wrong? God is the moral authority.
The universe, the solar system, the planet earth, mankind, all the animal, down to the smallest micro organism ... these things are so perfectly designed, the odds of all these occurring without intelligent design would be like winning the big lottery everyday for 1,000 years. Literally impossible.
Everytime I open my eyes and look around and take a breath, I'm 100% convinced, this miraculous creation didn't occur by chance. I simply don't have enough faith to be an atheist.
Then there is God's word, the bible. You could read The Bible every day for a lifetime and still be learning something new every day. All the prophecies that came to be true are little really impossible, absent of the divine.
One of the truth claims of The Bible are that every person will spend eternity either in the presence of Almighty God or outside of his presence. I implore you to look into the truth claims of of The Bible before it is too late.
A world without God? I don't have that much faith. If God does exist and you are wrong, you will pay for that mistake for all of eternity. A 100 million years is a blink of the eye when we talk about eternity. Please look into the truth claims of The Bible before you reject it.

John 5:39 GNT You study the Scriptures, because you think that in them you will find eternal life. And these very Scriptures speak about me! 40Yet you are not willing to come to me in order to have life.
41“I am not looking for human praise. 42But I know what kind of people you are, and I know that you have no love for God in your hearts. 43I have come with my Father's authority, but you have not received me; when, however, someone comes with his own authority, you will receive him. 44You like to receive praise from one another, but you do not try to win praise from the one who alone is God; how, then, can you believe me? 45Do not think, however, that I am the one who will accuse you to my Father. Moses, in whom you have put your hope, is the very one who will accuse you. 46If you had really believed Moses, you would have believed me, because he wrote about me. 47But since you do not believe what he wrote, how can you believe what I say?”

Islam does have a lot of great advice for living. Perhaps it is even the perfection of Abrahamic religions when practiced sincerely with Love. But any religion with Love at the crux of it will get you to the same destination if you practice it sincerely. To practice one path with Love is to practice all of the major religions in essence. We have all received the same simple message - to take care of each other. People still get it wrong, but enough people get it right. We are one creation and need to learn that.
