Watch all new episodes of Forged in Fire, Wednesdays at 9/8c, and stay up to date on all of your favorite The HISTORY Channel shows at history.com/schedule.
I've been cherry picking the episodes I watch and intend to check to see if some of my top favorite smiths are available to make a custom weapon. The guy that checked his butterfly swords blades with his own destruction test is in my new top 3.
I knew he would win. The fact he tested his edges properly and then reground them so they would be less prone to damage spoke volumes about his work ethic. Then the way he actually made them so they could lie flat against each and didn't sharpen the whole length, to ensure they were in the style of traditional knives, clinched his win.
True he did play it Smart most people knew they did something wrong but Still thought its going to be alright and then end up loosing of the same reasons they thought was gonna be alrith
Absolutely right!!! Proper testing and research on the blades you màke can be the difference maker. Shane truly deserved to win this one. Man I feel bad for Andy, that slice to the thumb looks bad, hope he heals up and comes back for another round.
@@nobodyimportant69 It did indeed look sore. He did well and on another day he could have won. He didn't make the all too common mistake of making the weapon far too heavy and even included a fuller.
Shane, Andy, great job. Unfortunately only one out of you two can be forged in fire champion. Andy kills Shane. Andy :- Now, I am the champion and my butterfly sword did KEAL.
That was a pretty gnarly gash on ol boy's thumb. Dude couldn't have come closer to taking off some cartilage. Can you imagine that happening in your thumb webbing? It'd be like having a new knuckle on your thumb making it extra, extra opposable 😆
man that was close for me at least. but with the purpose of being butterfly swords and not just big knives, I agree with the judges' decision. as a big knife I would maybe have to go with the other ones tho
See here's the problem.... When FIF created a new channel i was hoping for never before seen videos.... But you guys upload the same everytime.... I know who's gonna win... Bc I've watched it more than 10 times
actually on multiple occasions the winner was decided solely based on the appearance and aesthetics. Take the panabas episode where they brought back fan favorites for example. the winner was decided based on the fact that one had some fancy file work and a nice looking handle.
If your gonna be on forged an fire it's always the same things weight, handle and make sure to build them how they are supposed to be made you can still add your thing but make the weapon how it should be. I never get alot of these contenders they know what the judges like light fast blades with comfortable handle.
So long as it's strong light blades with comfortable handles are normally the best weapons. If they make it to fragile then that's why the strength test.
The thing that gets me consistently about these blade smiths is if they watched the show, they'd know there's a 95% chance the blade you'll be making is over 30"...so if you dont have a quench tank or forge suitable to build a 30+" blade perhaps make preparations BEFORE the show.
Good point. Also they should never make a blade too heavy. I see so many of them bring in a heavy weapon and thinking they have a shot of winning with it. Unless their competitor's weapon breaks, they going to lose. I would make it priority that the weapon is light and strong

Doug: "these blades sir... they will cut!"
Bladesmith: "Yeah I already know..."
4:05 "Where are my nuts?" Yer that brings the wrong image to mind, especially after he cut himself on the sword.
He kept a straight face everytime he said "my nuts". What a selfcontrol
ajjajaja i was thinking the same thing
And then he said I can't have nuts that are very big and I can't have nuts that are very small......... goodness gracious
"Slap my nuts"
My dog after a trip to the vet 4:05
3:50 Dude almost cuts his finger off, first response "where are my nuts"
*creates small inferno beneath propane hose*
“The heat treat went very well for me”
Like what?!?
Didn't he also sarcastically say "this is really safe next to a propane tank"
Great personalities - funny, focused, kind and humble. Nice weapons. Another superb episode. Thank you.
Shane, Andy, great job. Unfortunately only one out of you two can be forged in fire champion.
Andy kills Shane.
Andy :- Now, I am the champion and my butterfly sword did KEAL.
Did Kill tho KEAL means Keep Every ALive 🤣
Doug powerstances like he's playing Dark Souls II
Nice! Powerstance was such a freaking nice ideia...
Andy looks - and sounds - like Nick Cage's estranged brother
Voice is similar
Respect to both of the men. They both have honour.
I can't have nuts that are too big
and
I can't have nuts that are too small
That always crack me up
Andy was a great Looser. He lost with pride and respect for the other Guys work. A true Sportsman
Butterfly swords are among the most effective CQB arms ever used. Both of these gentlemen were on it.
First time I'm early to watch my favorite Forged of weapon in history
Dave baker slimmed up a smidge. Looks sharp
This man is the John wick of sword making.
WHERE ARE MY NUTS : 04:05 - Always go for nuts after cutting your thumb open
That was a pretty gnarly gash on ol boy's thumb. Dude couldn't have come closer to taking off some cartilage. Can you imagine that happening in your thumb webbing? It'd be like having a new knuckle on your thumb making it extra, extra opposable 😆
I think Andy knew his swords would cut lmao
Final challenge should be a duel between two bladesmiths to see who goes home...and with 10000 dollars.
He had way too much fun saying nuts
Wanna see battle against Shane and Iliya!
man that was close for me at least. but with the purpose of being butterfly swords and not just big knives, I agree with the judges' decision.
as a big knife I would maybe have to go with the other ones tho
What if one day the person who got mad lost and they started sword fighting
New reality show coming soon...lol
I have watched this before . Where are the New episodes ? 😭😭
I forgot Wil went through a Josh Groban phase lol
It would be hard to find two people who are more different
poor andy his thumb got ripped
Andy is my man!
I think Discovery reuploads the same video under new names. Have a feeling I watched it before
Not Discovery , History channel .
Plus TH-cam bot would recognize a duplicate video
That thumb cut was half decent 👍
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH THEY ANNOUNCED THE WINNER WHILE THEY WERE BOTH WIELDING KNIFES JUST ALMOST HAD TO FIGHT IT OUT
See here's the problem.... When FIF created a new channel i was hoping for never before seen videos.... But you guys upload the same everytime.... I know who's gonna win... Bc I've watched it more than 10 times
Leave
Yah imagine working with gloves.
Would’ve been nice
Real Smith's do!
i fill pity for him
Hope when u finished those swords you’ll know how to use them as we people in Wing Chun do in the Baat Jam Do form.
i wonder if two blades could be so close it would come down to appearance
actually on multiple occasions the winner was decided solely based on the appearance and aesthetics. Take the panabas episode where they brought back fan favorites for example. the winner was decided based on the fact that one had some fancy file work and a nice looking handle.
I think i remember once it came down to some fine details that were partly appearance, but also historical accuracy.

poor andy i want andy too win
Andy Pinkman did a good job with these swords
I love how the old man tested his edge early
Agreed. He had a feeling they'd do something like that, so fixed the issue beforehand.
Wu Tang
Shane did his homework.
Seems short for a sword. Am I wrong on that
Yes. That’s how they’re designed.
Hmm, one of the few weapons with ebony handles that didn't break, and also won?

Andy reminds me of Nicholas Cage for some reason
Nice nuts!
