Overall the best tutorial for this job on TH-cam. Thanks.
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
You sir are either a professional mechanic or a true craftsman. Probably both. Thank You.
I taught auto shop for about 10 years...now I just do it for fun.
Good video. You make it look easy. I did this on my 2004 Camry several years ago.
Thanks for the comment. I like how this repair was fairly straightforward.
Best video I have seen on TH-cam. Very through job. Wish I had found this about two hours ago. I think I may need to go back and redo my clip. Nice job I had an issue with my 2002 Camry that was reading the wrong fuel level. The fuel gauge would not go higher than 3/4 full. Wound up just replacing the fuel sensor and that took care of the issue. Excellent Job. Thank You.
Love coming and someone took the time to make the exact video I needed. Thank you.
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your repair.

Good video
EXCELLENT VIDEO.
Hello question. So the assembly include bothe the filter and the pump? Meaning I can replace the entire thing as one unit? Thanks!
Yes, you can replace the entire thing as one unit. However, the only place I was able to find the entire thing as one unit was on eBay.
I ordered this exact pump assembly from Amazon and it said it was for 2002-2006 years but it turns out on my 2006 Camry, when I went to do this job following your steps here one by one, I had a different set up and fuel pump assembly down there and that part was not going to fit. Did a little research and found the SP9160M was the one I needed instead and that I’m pretty sure now is what will fit my car instead of the SP9158M in this video.
So, I’ll try this again here in a couple days when it arrives but I was wondering if this one will also include the fuel filter inside it and if it will be very similar installing it to this one as it was. They don’t look very similar, just this in my car has three ports instead of just two in this video’s.
I had trouble finding the correct one on Amazon so I ended up ordering one from eBay.
By far the BEST video on this project. Thank you!
I have a 2005 Camry 2.4, will the set up under the back seat look the same, if not similar?
Thanks for the comment. Yes, I believe it will look very similar if not the same. According to Toyota, the Fifth Generation of Camry runs from 2002 through 2006. www.toyotaofdenton.com/toyota-camry-model-timeline.html Good luck with your repair.
How about 2005 Camry SE 3.3l v6
@@jaynava1312 Should be a very similar setup.
Do you have a link to the fuel pump assembly you used?

My car runs great but only when I start it for the first time each day it stutters a little to start aka takes a couple seconds of cranking, I can't hear a fuel pump priming, is this just the fuel pump on its way out? 06 Camry 102k miles
Could be a number of things. From my experience, if the issue occurs sporadically, it could be the pump going out. If it happens consistently each time it could indicate a partially clogged fuel injector, spark plug nearing end of life, exhaust system related issue. Do you get any check engine lights?
@@InsaneOil car has no codes and it happens every first start of the day, car does have the classic flex pipe exhaust leak these cars all have, could that cause this?
@@gi_matt3246 I don't think the flex pipe leak would cause a rough start.
this should be the same process on an 03 v6 Camry right?
It should be similar
Has the new assembly been reliable?
No issues to date.
I'm getting really bad mileage on my 04 Camry, what could it be? Changed plugs, sensors but still there. It gives a gasoline smell after driving too.
Any resolution to this yet? If you are smelling gasoline, it could indicate a crack in the fuel delivery lines.
Was the original pump ? Will be the same for solar 2002?
I believe it was the original pump and yes it should be the same for a 2002 Solara
What happens if you change your fuel pump withou taking out the relay
If you don't remove the relay and crank the engine, the line remains pressurized.
what about the pressure sensor? the ones on ebay say they do not come with a pressure sensor. Also how do I know I am getting a good part that will last from ebay
You don't know if it is a good part. eBay was the only place that sold the entire unit.
@@InsaneOil what about the pressure sensor. all of them on ebay say they come without the "pressure sensor" is that something I have to worry about
@@MikeM952 My unit did not have a surface mounted pressure sensor as many of other models do...such as this one th-cam.com/video/4sR4r3v2QL0/w-d-xo.html
Replaced pump, filters and pressure regulator. Fuel pressure drops, which makes the first start after parking difficult. After reassembly (without replacing anything), the problem goes away for about a year, then returns again (twice already). I can't figure out where the leak might be occurring.
Any solutions on this issue thus far?
do camrys normally prime the fuel pump when key is turned to on postion?
According to the message boards...no... www.toyotanation.com/threads/2003-camry-no-fuel-pump-prime.473825/
@@InsaneOil i confirmed it doesnt prime with on position, i replaced starter and started right up
@@disssavagekid9572 Sounds like a success.
If you crank it and then stop, it will prime afterwards
@@calebwatson966 i replaced the starter and the car started up just fine
How is the entire unit referred to besides " fuel pump assembly unit "?" Cant find it at rock auto and am afraid to ask a dealer the cost...
The only place I was able to find the entire unit was on eBay.
I actually just got mine from rock auto last week the whole assembly they should have some left
@@ajgleghorn1945 Thanks for the comment. I'll look in to it.
Why does my Toyota Camry has three connectors?
Did you ever figure this out?
Is the fuel filter in the fuel pump assembly?
Yes it is
Can u change out the top of the assembly with the only one. If the fuel line isn’t them same
I don’t fully understand your question
Didn't explain the assembly with the gaskets and the floats smh
I just made it look like the old one.
Thank you for that education I'm here in Mobile Alabama😮
Thanks for the comment. Good luck with your repair.
