Yall need to chill. Sure this segment felt a tad scripted but the presenter did a good job. He felt natural for 90% of the segment.
I don't understand the scripted criticism, it's television. Everything has a script.
Even the old Top Gear was scripted. People think things like this was just off their heads!
Great review. I see idiots still can't get over the fact that this isn't old Top Gear anymore. Yes it's a shame but this is still a good review nonetheless. I see no point in bashing a good guy and disliking the video just because.

I can't imagine how tough this would be in a time without road lights, freeways sitting in a 2 seat, rwd killing machine without comfort. The man was averaging 68mph for christ sake, on shitty roads without esp in complete darkness!

why is it so hard for most people to enjoy multiple shows at once? if its good content and bringing a car enthusiast good information, then there's no need to bash a show just because it doesn't have our favorite presenters presenting it.

Most of the people who hate Top Gear have no interests in cars and drives a Prius, that's why.
Rory Reid does a great job here, the car is outstanding and to give full respect to the amazing Norman Dewis was a special touch. IMO the best new Top Gear item by far.

They could have cleaned it before presenting it you know. They have sprays for that.
Simple quick wash and dry...even more so if its been coated/clear wrapped.
And it would have been a lot more special if the car had been left dirty...

This aged badly. Top Gear might as well jump in a coffin at this point. The viewings are right down.
I can really relate to this, I once had to do something similar, whilst working for the same company. I was tasked with driving a prototype, loaded with it's test equipment from Gaydon, all the way to the test facility in Barcelona, a distance of over 1000 Miles overnight. I was helped by another who came with me so we could at least swap drivers, but we went non-stop, neither of us slept, and we made the drive in something like 17.5 hours. I know the weight of responsibility Rory must've had on this drive. Massive respect to him.
yeah it may be a little cinematic, but this one of the greatest drives I've ever watched, the words of Norman was very moving... hats-off to Rory & TopGear... 👍👍👍

This isn't old top gear...but this guy is actually pretty good.
This is definitely a well-produced commercial. I like how the car arrives ten minutes to show time but all of a sudden it is all polished and buffed. Lovely cinematography all the same.
These videos just aren't authentic. They are filmed beautifully, but still leave you cold. TopGear needs to reinvent themselves

i hate that in all of these races, it always comes down to the wire. I'm not saying this particular video is faked, but i don't believe they all are real.
That aside: I like this guy. Seems to have a good relationship with the camera, and he keeps his eyes more on the road than most car show people. Filming or not: it's a real world out there, with real other motorists aso. TBH i haven't watched more than two or perhaps three episodes of the new season of TopGear. They sucked so much i gave up. This guy gives me hope there might be someone in the TopGear crew that hires people who can make a car show.

He had a massive advantage as he took the train to France which takes approximately 37 minutes the ferry takes around 1h 45 minutes on a good day and back then it would have been longer

Man, the amount of falseness in this video is beyond belief.
First off he's acting as if it's such a difficult thing driving a 21st century luxury GT cruiser for 13 hours through the night. And than when he suddenly shows up at the show just right on time with the car "sparkling clean" after a 13 hour drive through multiple roads and countries...that was it! So much staged lol
Maybe, there are car wash guys already waiting on the scene. With 10 crew it will be cleaned in less than a minute.
