I left the monitor in the box. Hooked in the stand while it was in the box and then used the stand as a carrying handle to move the monitor around. That way you don't have to worry about damaging the screen carrying it around holding on the screen in the places you shouldn't be.
Sara! LG has an software that let's tou choose difrente layouts like the one you did manually! If you go on their website and support, is very easy to find! Great video tho! I have an 25 Lg is amazing!
Conversely you could get Display Fusion instead of using someone's proprietary software. I have an LG Ultrawide and ended up preferring Display Fusion due to the sheer number of ways I could switch layouts and snap windows.
I agree, Microsoft expanding the features of Windows would be preferable to running extra software in every situation. I like the current implimentation but it only works on a 16:9 panel.
Very very helpful video. Made me choose this monitor for my new editing station. Ordered one from Amazon. Received a ridiculous ugly, upholstered dinner chair instead. sent ugly dinner chair back and Amazon refunded my card account, adding a 20% discount for my troubles when i reorder the monitor. Reordered. Took screen shot of Sara standing by the box because there are no box pictures of this LG yet on google images. I want to show it to my mailman in advance what the box looks like so we know to send it back right then and there without opening it if the box is square......like a ridiculous stuffed dinner chair would be shipped in.🙄 And Thank you Sara, you are Adorable beyond words.
That thing is intense! Having a long timeline would be great. I'm clueless of monitor prices these days, but I was expecting it to be more expensive than that.
I have used two 27 inch monitor together, and trust me, big monitors are not for everyone! I used to work on Machine Learning and even if I had to write a lot of code to get things work, I was just not able to get used to this much screen real estate. 34inch ultrawide CURVED monitor on a big (like really big) table would be just fine for 95% of the people. This looks dope fir the first 5 minutes, and after that you'll start wondering why have you even thought of getting this.

A 4k has more space both horizontal av vertikal. That means you have more space for a timeline and space to have the preview window at full resolution. Photos are less wide than 16:9, so ultrawides are not good for photos. a 4k monitor can have 4 full hd windows at a time. 4k is superior att everything except gaming.
LG re-releases this model every few yrs. It originally had suffix "-W" in 2019, then "-WE" in Jan 2021, now "-WY" in Feb 2022. The -WE is currently selling for $900 on Amazon. The -WY is currently $1k. Those might just be special 2022 Christmas season prices because MSRP still says $1500 LG says it's the exact same model regardless of suffix and they only updated the suffix for tracking model yrs.
I just returned it. It’s like 8” tall. That shit drove me nuts.

Please read the instructions on the box. The box should be flipped when unboxing! Mount the stand while in the box to prevent touching the screen. I love the screen. Notice you need a Displayport 1.4 graphics card for 5120x1440, else you need to connect two cables for 2*(2560x1440).
Hi Sara. I’ve been enjoying your channel a lot. Just wanted to chime in about curved displays. A concave, hard surface is anathema to good sound. That doesn’t get much play so I thought I’d mention it. Studio designers would never put one anywhere near a monitoring sound field. It focuses a strong peak at a frequency corresponding to the dimension of the sphere of which it is a part. For this radius, that frequency would be in a particularly annoying part of the spectrum, right in the vocal range. Sorry if TMI.
