I've never left Maine in my 39 years. The more I watch these guys, the more I'd love to go out that way. Absolutely beautiful country. Thanks for taking the time to share with us.
There are some beautiful spots in Maine and New England where I grew up, like Mt. Agamenticus and Mt. Katahdin in Maine. Tons of trails too and all the forts on the East Coast of Maine. We used to visit a bunch of those when I grew up in South Berwick.
I agree , Hunter's jeep called " over easy " . Definitely some beautiful scenery out there , and peace and quiet , no phone service , my kind of area 😁 . Thanks for bringing us with y'all . Come on Paul , jalapenos aren't spicy , they give extra flavor to food . Elk ? Now I'm jealous 🤤
Watching Hunters withdrawal is hilarious! I actually seek out cellular dead zones! I love actually being out of technological reach. Reminds me of when I was young and we didn't have any constant connectivity. 😅
That's my back yard. I built that Journal box maybe 15 years ago and installed it with my club when we did some campground improvements there at Ershim. Glad you had a good time.
Can you imagine doing that trail with an F head or flathead 4, 3 speed, 7.50/16 mud& snows, and manual steering? Seems unlikely, but that's how the Rubicon was first run... I watched Paul's video of this and wondered how you would report it; this seems like it was a fun time! Oh yeah... remember, it's pressure that pushes seals out. One of my bald spots was caused by such a thing on a 241 xfer... turned out to have a 2 tiered solution: the vent was partially plugged with asphalt, and the seal retainer was a touch too large. Dimpled the retainer with a center punch, and plumbed the vent up to the firewall. Then a new seal was installed with a smear of silicone, and I finally got the seal to stay put. But it took some time and head-scratching to get there!
Your Aunt Pam is a jewel. That was a great trip. I would like to ride along but I couldn't carry enough oxygen tanks to make it. I had an "over easy pickup" that turned "over hard" when the cable broke turning it upright. Thanks for the video, jack

Trips like this are what some of us would live for and die for. Group of good people camaraderie old friends family and kids and fun. Your Aunt seems like a Joy to have around and seems like she just loves the outdoors, I can appreciate the task it is carrying a camera around logging everything and then editing it all later just to bring us some entertainment, but it's more than that, it's taking us places we may never be able to go in person. This is my all time favorite trail, We normally do a extra day and camp at Ershim for 2 nights. It has been 3-4 years since I have been there, Thompson looks really toar up. It's all those 35 in tires and no lockers, HAHAHAHAHA I would really like to go next year. Need to put the word out.. One year we made it to top of thompson and there was so much snow we just turned around after spending the night.. It was nice as well seeing both Angles from Fab Rats and you. Awesome footage thanks
Hey Merlin, regarding your transfer case seal popping out when hot... Use high tack or loctite red on the seal bore before reinstalling. It's worked well for me in the past.
Love the content, Merlin, Bidneomics has us all suffering; glad you guys all still suck it up and do what you do. I know we cannot do much of what we enjoyed for wheeling in the Adirondacks due to costs.

Thanks for making. First Digda should be brown on bottom with white on the top with the split at the top of the fender opening. Then have a dig dug in a hole climbing out of the brown to the white. And yes on hiring Caitlin

It's been 15 years since The Dusy for me and we decided the Fordyce and Rubicon would be a Week to remember and it was memorable for one thing breakage and pebble in weird places.
Great trip Merlin. You might want to replace that seal again at some point. I did not want to put a guess because i had seen Paul's video last weekend.
