Man I know this is a older video just found your channel. Gave you a sub . Great stuff I just did a 14 x 36 and it came out great . I’ve got 47 hundred in the whole thing . Keep them coming brother great content
Absolutely very informative! I got an 1983 Monark 1236 Jon boat and trailer for free and I'm excited to transform it into a mini bass boat! Thanks for the budget build ideas. Love watching your channel!
I would not add too much.. I got some comfort seats (they are like sailing seats that u can just throw in there).. put some rod rests in from scotty.. otherwize mine is bare.. the seats are a good tip though u can place them anywhere u want.. makes getting balance in the boat a lot easier. and i can just keep the boat outside.. cause nothing is rotting away.. Also u can carry the boat with 2 person.. makes a lot of water accessable... I also added lithium batteries.. a trolling motor.. livescope.. but thats what u need for fishing.. I sold my 8hp motor and just got a big lithium battery.. it is not fast but i can boat all day.. ended up not using the motor ever.. too heavy to put on/off...
Love it! I got a 18foot smoker craft passed down to me that I’ve just gutted and flipped over, getting ready for paint. Your informative videos are giving me the confidence to tackle this project! And I can’t thank you enough for that. It’s my first boat build, the plan is to build a center console, all aluminum with hydro turf for inshore fishing.
I am about to pick up a 12' jon and trailer. Yessir, I'm going to copy your ideas and add some of my own. At 73 yoa this is my last boat, it is exactly what I can safely handle by myself and I want it to be sweet. Thank you for sharing your videos. Take care of that pup!
I really enjoy your content. I have a landau 1470 that’s been a work in progress for the last seven years or so. Every time I think I’m done I find something else to change or modify.
Just bought a ‘93 Lowe 1648 side console from my grandpa and I am hoping to start building it out soon, for my first boat build. I’ll definitely be using your videos for some guidance. Thank ya sir, keep up the videos!
You were my motivation on pulling the trigger on a 1440 on F.B. Marketplace. I've been a Longtime subscriber and can honestly say I've watched your "Transom rebuild" video about 50 times. Your videos are a pleasure to watch, and I can proudly say my 10 year old son and I are working on getting our first boat on the water. Keep doing what you do!! Tight lines from small town Illinois 🤟
This was a great watch..Those of us who love to do DYI projects eat this stuff up. Last winter I bought a 12 ft tracker put a Merc 9.9 and a trolling motor. Down on the southern Colorado River water has become to skinny to run my Lund most days. So, built what I call..The Swamp Donkey. I still have tweaks because of all the noise the aluminum makes in the water. Drives me insane, but it'll get dealt with. Keep em coming. Stay safe
You are a great teacher, thanks now I talked my uncle out of the half sunken Jon boat at the pond to let me work on it. He said take it and that trailer 2, well if you can accept pictures you would love it man it can’t get to much worst but you gave me the brass to tackle it THANKS
This work is truly amazing I just got done watching a video from jt outdoors and thought that everybody who built these John boat bass boat conversion was regarded but your work has thankfully proven that wrong. You absolutely know what your doing and I thank you for that
i love these videos. I got a 11'6 semi v last summer and ive gotten so many ideas from you. i had it sand blasted and just slowly got it the way I wanted it last fall. Stoked to fish all spring/summer in MY boat
We highly appreciate your work. We've learned a lot from you, although you say you are not a professional, for us you've been a master. Keep doing great
It came out looking awesome. I have a 14' I've been slowly working on. I really like the cooler idea to have more room. Can't wait to see what you come up with next, tight lines
Yo! Big fan of your videos, glad you've turned comments on so we can tell you how awesome they are. Really appreciate your content and style of commentary. Great channel man, thank you for doing it
You did good brother. Saving for a metal boat upgrade from my 12’ dolphine upgrade myself. I have a evin rude 6 ho and 55 minkota troling no trailer is a pain. I fish downtown Knoxville,Tennessee river/Island home airport area bc its 6 minutes from the house. One day I will be on this level. Thanks for video.
Hello Chris, from Middle Georgia, dude I been following you for a few years now and I noticed that your building skills have become top notch, every time I watch your videos, I learn new ways and ideas to use on my own project, so thanks for all you do and keep on putting out the vids, we all enjoy them very much!!!
Cause I’m poor and the government got all my savings!! Quote of the year. Your video came up like a black hole!! Watched it and pleasantly suprised!!! Hope you’re enjoying that new ride!! New sub here!! Ty!! Crack me up. Big serious beard and since of humor👍🏻
It's always a great to keep the fire extinguisher close to the gas tank where the fire is most likely to be, that way you have to reach through the flames to get it when you need it.
Awesome 💪. I ran a 15hp on my Ol Lowe 12 footer. Operated great, but then i put a 25hp on that jewl. Its been a great duck boat for over 10 years. That boat will hold that 15 well. Take care.
2 main reasons for the bench seats in a row boat or jon, to house floatation and to add structural integrity to the gunnels, and the gunnel's integrity also supports the strength of the floor.
Nice to see you make use of aluminum instead of wood/plywood for everything. A buddy of mine and I both had 12 foot Jon boats and identical 9.9 motors. He decided to put in floors and decks and he completely removed the middle seat (bye, bye flotation). He carpeted everything and then he tried it out on the lake. I followed him in my boat just in case of any problems. His boat was so heavy it wouldn't get up on plane. Thinking it might be a motor issue, we swapped motors. Nope, same thing. Mine would plane, but his wouldn't. I wonder how many "custom builds" out there had the same issues with all wood builds, but they never showed it running on the water?
Great video, I’ve got a 1636 I’m working on now. I wish I knew more about the trolling motor transom mount I did something similar but looks worse than yours and I’m not sure if it’s as sturdy either 🤣
Great video! I have a 12 footer myself and have been wondering how to modify it some. This video gave me some great ideas. One question though, how much of the bench seat ends did you leave? Thanks
Hey just letting you know if that's a transom mount trolling motor from minn kota you can take the bolt out of the handle and turn it around! Love these videos your very inspiring man
Awesome! Yeah they leave plenty of wire inside handle to turn it around works good done this with my transom mount trolling motor when I got my gas motor ( The Orange Crush ) totally awesome man!
Glad you pulled through a very dark time in your life... As they say when it rains it pours. You got a nice channel here and can make any boat looks nice. Not a lot of people can do that. What is the bracket on the back of the boat holding the seat where you operate the tiller called?
I hope all goes well for you. It sucks that the government did that to you. I'm a self employed person, have had my business for 25 years. They best not mess with me. I feel for our people, I wish I had a boat, I had 3 bass boats through the years. I'm 70 years old and have become a bank fishermen. I go see my oldest twice a year he's got a Ranger, so it makes up for walking the banks, watching out for cotton mouths. Good luck Brother with your journeys!
I didn’t attach the angle to the outside of the boat, just got it as close as I could. You’re not left with that big of a void on these small boats. But I’ve seen some people run it along the edge and use closed end rivets to attatch
Have you ever considered building a catfish jonboat? I know while people love fishing for catfish here more than anything you just don't see any boats being designed for the person who fishes for catfish more than anything. I know there's an interest because I see so many people asking about catfish boats but all they seem to buy is bass boats because of their availability. Just a thought
its really great to watch a trained and fully accredited professional such as yourself convert a jon boat into a bass boat!
Also tell your brother travis and his girlfriend taylor swift i said hi
Anyone who adopts a dog spur of the moment deserves a sub. I also have a 12 ft jon boat, looking for ideas.
Always a good day when you post

Hello
Another great build! Amazing how fast money adds up.

Got two boat projects on right now, and your videos are so helpful, thanks.
Amazing very nice Boat ⛵⛵
Love the cooler cutout in the bench seat. Excellent idea. Great build. Rebel the dog is awesome too. 🐕
Decent!
Appreciate the video.
Love the dog!

I mentally went back to the first time I saw her in your videos coming from work..😂 wife or not she won’t miss… smart man!!! 20:49
One of my favorite videos so far. Answered so many questions. Especially about the paint lol

Great series! I have a old Sears 12 footer Jon, Love it. Its bare bone....but hey..Like you said! GO FISHING!!
Very nice Boat ⛵
Superb finished product.
It came out looking awesome. I have a 14' I've been slowly working on. I really like the cooler idea to have more room. Can't wait to see what you come up with next, tight lines
Great video! Enjoyed the viewing! Excellent team work with your Bride and Rebel!!!
Heck, the boat looks great and Rebel is an absolute knockout. Great size and she's got a nice head. Nice channel. Subscribed.
Awesome video. I just finished my first boat. You helped give me confidence and some great ideas. Thanks so much. Can't wait for the next one.
that's a pretty sharp jon boat. start to finish came a long way!
Thats a pretty sweet 1236. I have a 1432 that i want to work on. This project gave me some ideas. Thank you
Yo! Big fan of your videos, glad you've turned comments on so we can tell you how awesome they are. Really appreciate your content and style of commentary. Great channel man, thank you for doing it

Just got myself a trailer and 10ft Jon to replace my inflatable. Having to pack and unpack boat gear sux.
Pretty sweet build. You are killing it bro.

Awesome video.... Did a really good job. Very inspiring. And knowing it could get pricey, still worth it compared to a full kayak setup. Good job man
Good build for the poor guy like us subscribers turned out not bad looks like you put s bunch of money in it keep the builds coming we enjoy it.
Beautiful boat!
I just watched another video and you did great job so I’m hoping for another good one
Omg comments are open now!! Man great job on all your work love the channel keep it up!! A lot of great inspiration!
Great video
Very very nice Boat ⛵⛵
It's always a great to keep the fire extinguisher close to the gas tank where the fire is most likely to be, that way you have to reach through the flames to get it when you need it.
Love this! I've got a free 1236 and a free trailer. Both need work, but, let's get it done and send it! 🤘
Hello farind 🌹
Some of the most expensive boats I've ever had were free. No such thing as a free boat! :)
That cooler idea is awesome, doin this with the 12 footer I just bought
I enjoyed the process. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Thanks dude!
Awesome 💪. I ran a 15hp on my Ol Lowe 12 footer. Operated great, but then i put a 25hp on that jewl. Its been a great duck boat for over 10 years. That boat will hold that 15 well. Take care.
You did a great job ! My 14 Grumman Jon needs a face lift I will tackle this next year

Great Job we would love that in Ireland🙏🙂🎣
She has guns....and with that you had atleast 1 more sub =)
Just go over the existing carpet. Use the "old style" grass carpet. It's slicker to help move the boat onto and off the trailer.
Great video. Can’t for the next build
Vacuuming his grass lmao. Nice boat man
Had me rollin on that one too 😂😂
Cool boat.
Love all your videos man 👍🏼
Nicely done
Looking goood bro
Amazing very nice
Looks good! G said great job on the video!
I’d love to see you put a glitter finish on a boat. ✨
No words big bro👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾. Thanks

Great video, I’ve got a 1636 I’m working on now. I wish I knew more about the trolling motor transom mount I did something similar but looks worse than yours and I’m not sure if it’s as sturdy either 🤣
I used the same paint but color is duck boat drab . Thought it went on smooth.
Great video! I have a 12 footer myself and have been wondering how to modify it some. This video gave me some great ideas. One question though, how much of the bench seat ends did you leave? Thanks
Love your videos 😀
just tack some angle on the bottom of those hatches to give them a spine, should give them lots of strength, boat looks awesome man!!
It is refreshing to see North America vehicles in your lane way..also great video.
love to vacuum the yard😂 my dogs like to fly trampolines next yesterraindoor
Really nice.
Awesome video
Hey just letting you know if that's a transom mount trolling motor from minn kota you can take the bolt out of the handle and turn it around! Love these videos your very inspiring man
It’s actually a minnkota, but still applies! Just didn’t add it to the vid trying to compress
Awesome! Yeah they leave plenty of wire inside handle to turn it around works good done this with my transom mount trolling motor when I got my gas motor ( The Orange Crush ) totally awesome man!

Rebel says Hell Yeah !!!
Nice job
I've watched a bunch of your videos and have one question. What does the insulation board do for the build?
I’m glad you moved her jeep!
How about a spray-on clearcoat to seal the paint?
Do you have a link to the battery? I like how compact that is!
I like the cooler idea awesome video what gage alluminum did you use and was the cooler in the way or would you do it again?
I’d do it again for a personal boat. I used .100 for the floors/deck
Hey brotha where do you get a transom support bracket for a aluminum boat ?
I hope all goes well for you. It sucks that the government did that to you. I'm a self employed person, have had my business for 25 years. They best not mess with me. I feel for our people, I wish I had a boat, I had 3 bass boats through the years. I'm 70 years old and have become a bank fishermen. I go see my oldest twice a year he's got a Ranger, so it makes up for walking the banks, watching out for cotton mouths. Good luck Brother with your journeys!
What size sheeting do you use for the floor?
I have a 9.9 evinrude. It has good compression, great spark, and getting fuel. But will not crank over. Pls help
THink you only need to reposition the little roller at the back by the prop, less work than moving the whole boat
It was already adjusted all the way in
What grit sandpaper are you using?
How did you attach the angle to the sides of the boat and did you seal the connection
I didn’t attach the angle to the outside of the boat, just got it as close as I could. You’re not left with that big of a void on these small boats. But I’ve seen some people run it along the edge and use closed end rivets to attatch
400 LIKES! YW and good JOB.
Nice work! What thickness was the floor aluminum?
I use .100. It works fine for these smaller boats. It’s just shy of 1/8”
@@backwaterboatrehab Thank you! Nice work!
And ir you have a couple 12 or 13 inch wheels 5 hole wheels I need them too
What gauge aluminum did you use for the floor?
.100
