If the rtr didn't have that dated-ass lazily made BMW engine that's almost a decade old now, it might have solved a lot of engine issues plus the exhaust end can.

Its not lazy ass engine, being only 310cc it competes with heigher displacements like 400 and even has won drag races against em
biggest factor is the engine , the triumph is only a bit buzzy at high revs but the rtr feels unrefined almost from low - mid range

@@caveman36 The scrambler 400x felt just abt fine at a speedo indicated 155 kmh. You can't expect anymore from a 400 cc single.
Wish Tvs had worked on reducing vibes of RTR 310 engine.

How come there was absolutely no mention of the vibes or refinement of these bikes in this review? As though that should be least of our concerns before considering either of these 2 bikes. Such an old and reputed bike channel completely omitting such an important aspect of a bike in a comparison review is either gross oversight or deliberate omission. One bike screams after 6000 rpm and the other screams all the time.
Right, Ive only driven the g310r and I found it has a consistent vibration throughout the rev range. It's smoother in the top end than in midrange. The triumph is butter smooth in low revs but buzzy as hell post midrange
@@caveman36bmw is shit with this engine. Apache with the same engine has tuned it better. Apache is not as viby as bmw.
Exactly what i was looking for. Whats rhe crusing speed or how are the vibes. Low end acceleration. If the torque is available down below. No mention of any of these in detail.
I was about to buy rtr 310 but thankfully I took test ride of speed 400 before making buying decision.

2 things abt both these bikes-
1. Triumph speed400- wish the brand could give customisation options/accessories lik a TFT dash for an additional cost with some electronic aids
2. Apache rtr310- that exhaust is such an eyesore, for an otherwise good-looking bike.. this bike deserved a better one or evn an underbelly

Bikes with less than 350 cc have a significant insurance price difference. This should also be accounted for when selecting a bike. Please make a video on this

As apache increased the engine compression i was expecting more vibrations and many reviewers later said the same. So no doubt i will go with triumph

I just got the speed 400 and this the video I was looking for the crux of the matter is I was leaning heavily to buy the rtr but after took test rides rtr just feels very unrefined. Speed is just more bike for the buck.
I too bought it in December. At the Triumph had brought back the discount. I was in Navi Mumbai showroom and the TVS showroom is also besides it. My wife noticed yello bike and said this bike is also nice but I won't sit on its rear seat😂 TVS salesman wouldn't even try to sell it whereas Triumph people are so generous with respect to customer satisfaction.
I told TVS guy what will be final price, but he was adamant that you are getting good features. I said bro its Triumph. British craftsmanship and aura is involved. He was reluctant to say anything. He didn't even offer a test ride whereas Triumph people gave me test ride every time I visited 😂

Apaches have always been crazy. That's why they still are running strong in the market.
Will not buy any tvs product. Because my first bike was bs4 2015 tvs apache rtr 180. At that time I didn't have any idea about a bike I was a new rider but after 2 years the bike started to have issues in the engine even after maintaining the bike and the mileage was getting worse day by day and the vibrations were horrible literally it was giving massage to my legs and hand 😢😢. Really disappointed with the ownership of tvs. That's why I choose Honda as my next bike.

i own the blue and there is no metal tank.
its all plastic and the only thing you get on blue is gloss blue with no grey panels. looks good and stealthy.
about to reach 5000 kms in 1 month, picked up with dynamic and dynamic pro kit. so far. i would say vibration you can mostly feel near 5500-6000 rpm. post that you have to worry about wind pushing you back. reached 160kmph and with the adjustable suspension the ride is so plush it feels like a touring bike. once you live with the bikes the vibes are a non concern.

Apache 160 rv dual channel abs review
TVS 310 engine is so unrefined from the factory. I have ridden a 4 year old Apache RR310 😢. It really sucks man. I rather buy a 10 year old 220 than a 4 year old RR310. That how poor the refinement is ! No wonder they got poor resale value
Pulsars may be a ted more powerful and a little bit more refined But Still Apache has better dynamics and braking than Pulsars including RS and and NS

This is such a shallow comparison. First of all, you should never compare on On-Road prices. And nonetheless , Which state/city where you find S400 2k higher prices than base variant of RTR? There is a 10k price difference between them, RTR ex-showroom starts at 2.4 upwards. Also the cooling seat, half of the tech features are on the mid and top variant. Why are you mentioning them when comparing the base variant? Then why not compare Scrambler and Speed vs RTR ?
HondaCB300R is the best sub400 naked motorcycle. Period.
No doubt it's the best machine in the sub 300 category but wrongly priced by honda. A brand like triumph offering speed 400 at the same price. Why would anyone in their right mind buy cb300 over s400 ..
And before launch of s400 cb300 was 2.9 ex showroom.. honda only slashed prices after speed 400 launched

Best sub 400cc is actually the ktm duke 390 gen-3. Triumph comes close but the apache needs a lot more work done on it.

Triumph service cost is too high , whereas tvs apache is very cost effective and triumph as front breaking issues , we have to press the lever all the way to maximum end to stop the vehicle. When it comes to the power RTR will beat triumph. Mainly bike is not for only appearance and power, we have to be very clear in service cost for both bikes. Triumph is too expensive in that.

Seems like just spec-sheet and design comparison. No discussion about ride feel, refinement or PD curve. Did not address Speed's vibrations. Did not address that most of Speed's torque is only available in the higher rev-range, where the vibes make it an unpleasant experience. Not your best work MotorBeam.

I would have blindly gone for the rtr if i was using the rtr 160. But as a 250 user i am looking for something bigger. I hope tvs comes in with something thats around 500 which i know is very unlikely.

TVS worst Indian brand. Parts are not available, performance poor👎, we don't want only looks n features, we want performance don't buy any TVS bikes. In that price range there are many good performance bikes are available go with them
