    Love my 35, I have an elder vintage, no brake and all metal. If/when you run across a power Mac 6 grab it you’ll love it. it’s the first model & before they started making the cheaper version mini Mac’s

      It is a great saw! I almost picked up an older one a few months back. Power Mac 6's don't come up for sale all that often, they're on my short list.

    I wasn't aware that McCulloch sold a saw with the Oregon Auto Sharpener . Learn something new every day. Your saw has the original chain on it. I read somewhere that Oregon has reintroduced the auto sharp set up again. I can't imagine why, as it was a failure when first introduced. I have been using my Mini Mac 35 for over 35 years and it still runs and cuts great. One of my most used saws. Looks like your saw is a super low hour saw, a great find. I have a Mac 110 and 120 also, but they are slightly less powerful than the Mac 35, but get used all the time also. All of the Mini Mac's don't like hot weather, as they are prone to vapor locking, but really like the cool weather. Great little powerhouses !

      Two of my Mini Mac's have that Oregon Auto Sharp feature. I can't seem to get away from it, ha! As a limbing saw, I can see the thought process behind it. If you're climbing, it's easy to sharpen on the go. That said, I can't see how you would need to do that before you got back to the ground. It's also one more thing to go wrong with the saw. If Oregon is reintroducing it, I'm sure it's for the lazy homeowner that doesn't want to sharpen their chain. With over 35 years running a Mini Mac, you would know better than anyone how awesome these little saws are. I sure like mine!

      The Mini Mac's have been extremely useful little saws for me. They can be finicky, but most small saws are the same way.@@EightWheelsRollin

    I've watched a few of your videos now. Lol! For the McCulloch's of course. I have around 35-40 McCulloch's alone. Around 50-55 chainsaws total by myself, my dad is going to be 85 in January and he has probably more than I do. Combined we have 22 of the 10 series saws alone.

      Dang, that is quite the collection! I really dig McCulloch chainsaws; I don't think I could ever have too many. I have two of the 10 series saws, one of my favorites. Between you and your dad, you should have at least one of every model ever made. Wishing your dad, a Happy Birthday in advance!

    My first saw was a Mac 110. It was a very close relative to yours. The muffler was a can type one, with a metal cover to keep you from touching it. It didn't have the self sharpening feature, and the chain break wrapped around and attached to the case on the other side. My hands don't handle the vibration when a saw has no anti-vibe! So I sold it, and got a Husky 50, a very smooth saw in comparison. But fun to see one run again.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You're right, very close relative. If I'm not mistaken, it was the successor to the Mini Mac 35. Sorry you had to sell your Mac 110, but I get it. The Husky 50 is a solid saw!

    That mini mac is pristine. I wish thr two i have were half that nice looking. They have seen batter days and i cant find a carb kit for the 25 with a mdc 1 carb anywhere. I can for the 35 i have.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Believe it or not, I picked it up for free. It was in awful shape when I got it, it looked like it should have gone to the dump. The oil and grime preserved it well! The last carb kit I came across for a Mini Mac 25 was from a marine supply company back east. I can't remember the name. I'm sure you've already tried ebay and the Walbro website. Most of the carb kits on Amazon are from China, but they may work. Happy hunting!

      @@EightWheelsRollin oh yeah I have literally scoured the web and every single one always says "this will not fit mdc 1" that have thousands of every single mdc except mdc1. you don't happen to know the item number? or the numbers that were on the package. idk yeah that thing is impossible to find. the guy on ebay said yes it will fit but it says right on the page it will not haha. i might just try it anyways.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Unfortunately, I have no idea what the item number was. I tried looking for it again, I can't find the site. I did find a carb kit on Chainsawr that says it replaces the Walbro D1-MDC.

    That is a clean saw, that’s probably the original chain that came on it. I would leave that chain and try to find a sharpener for it. Don’t think you would ever find a nicer one.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Very clean. I do believe you are correct, original chain. Every time I use the saw, the chain seems to cut just fine. I think I may take your advice and just keep the chain. It's actually pretty easy to sharpen. You run a raker gauge file over the top and you're done.

    • @johnlincicum6390
      @johnlincicum6390 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That is the original chain, it's design is for the auto sharpener that's missing.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      For right now, I think I'm keeping it on the saw. It cuts fine.

  • @wg4405
    @wg4405 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    That's the chain for auto sharpener thing your missing . There is a sharpener stone that goes in the hole your talking about . There was some Craftsman 3.7 made by Poulan that had the auto sharp also , I've got a few of those and If I remember right a few other Mac's had that auto sharp and I believe I have a few of those in my pile of someday to restore . Those little Mini Mac's are great when they run good but a pain to work on . I had a heard of them but give them all away except one in the case and one that was just given to me . I like the Pro Mac 6 better , I've got a few of them one is like new in the case and a few I need to be restore someday .

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Ahhhhh...that make sense now. Thanks for clearing that up. I had never seen a chain like that before. I ran a raker file over the top of the tooth to get it sharp. I'm assuming the "auto sharp" did the same thing. You do have to take the whole saw apart to work on it, ha ha, but I do love running them!! I was looking at a Pro Mac 6 last week. With your recommendation, I may pull the trigger on that one now.

    • @johnlincicum6390
      @johnlincicum6390 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Power Mac 6 and Power Mac 6 Automatic, they're 32.8 cc's also, a different engine though. The other saws with the auto sharpener were the Power Mac 300 series (310/320 top handles and 330/340 rear handles at 34.4 cc's and the 38 cc Mac Cat). The Mac Cat also had 2 bar studs instead of one. Kinda similar to the Super Pro 40 and Pro Mac 510.

    • @EightWheelsRollin
      @EightWheelsRollin  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's good information, thanks! I run them, and know a fair amount about them, but I am no expert by any means. I have a Super Pro 40, Mac 140 and Mini Mac 30. I'm looking at a Power Mac 6 (said Pro Mac 6) and a Mac Cat. Both are priced too high right now.
