      Hello,
      I just checked but I don't see a Bluetooth option on the Evo tablet and there is no headphone port either. You can adjust the volume of the speaker however or entirely turn the sound off.

      @@daveiwhittle That's awesome! My board malfunctioned and the screen stopped working to touch inputs so I had to get mine replaced. My set was a prototype which may have been the reason for the issue. Glad to hear its working well for you!

    Is the training feature still subscription?. Seems a rip off. Why can't the onboard processing power handle it? Or they should give you the ability to setup your own server.

    • @ChessUSee
      @ChessUSee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey John,
      I have been having the exact same issue with my EVO board and it started about 2 weeks after I filmed the unboxing for the video. My screen is entirely unresponsive while the buttons on the side still work fine. I suspect that it is just a software bug since it worked well for a week or two before having issues. I've been pretty busy lately and haven't sent in videos and images to Chessnut to get a fix for it.
      Now that I see it is not just my board that is having these issues I will contact Chessnut in the next 24 hours and work toward a fix. I will keep you updated!
      Thanks!

    I have a lot of boards already and more on the way: Square off pro, Square off Grand Kingdom and Kingdom, Square off SWAP, Chessnut, Chessnut Pro, DGT boards (Centaur and others), Chessup (my near me and my desk board), and gochess classic on order. $799 price is not the right price imho. Chessup does this, minus the screen, for MUCH less, and gochess will do this and move the pieces, again, minus the screen for much less (both have apps can can play non app too). Even with discount, we are still talking about a $200 dollar difference. This is the first I've heard the price and was thinking: Ok...this should be about 499 with discounts, maybe a kickstarter at 350ish. An android screen that doesn't have to be OLED should be cheaper, cost for coding specific apps and locking the android side down, minimal.....
    Maybe the cost is associated with RnR (reverse engineering and adding your twist enough to not violate patent laws for lights) for the lights and maybe AI? or other. When the Pro Came out, the MSRP, I said, was too much as is, but was at the price it should be, or close to it with the discounts. The original chessnut board, price is spot on, ESPECIALLY a good deal with discounts (CHESSNUT). Its an analysis board with tablet built in and smart features like the two mentions above. 799 is just not the right price for more than just cutting down an already niche market down even further. Above, one does the exact same thing with your phone next to you, the other does even more (moving pieces), again with the phone next to you or go lite.
    I will still get it cause so far, I LOVE chessnut products. This needs to be and feel very "apple" premium to justify the cost though. Discounted on Kickstarter is closer to where MSRP should be tbh.

      @ChessUSee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Timothy for the in-depth information! You have quite a few chess sets that I haven't had the opportunity to test out, so I really appreciate your perspective on things! The GoChess board sounds particularly interesting as it would be the second eboard on the market that moves the pieces for you.
      There currently is a lot of attention on the Evo with many eagerly looking to purchase the board once it is released on Kickstarter. I suppose only time will tell whether the price tag of the Evo is justified by the features that it offers.

    • @karenhuang3905
      @karenhuang3905 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agreed. $799 seems too high. This year’s prime day, Amazon tablet is only $75. My guess is, they will list $799, but always have discounts. $550 sounds more reasonable. Kickstart is 459, but plus shipping, it is about $525. It is not that cheap. But I still pledged to buy one. Hope it will be a good product. I like the all-in-one concept.

    • @gvilla98
      @gvilla98 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve just pledged in for mine. Though $799 might be a bit much, there’s nothing like it with regards to the ease of integration (having the UI right next to be board) plus the ability to identify boards on-screen through AI in combination with the board automatically identifying which piece you’re placing puts it far ahead of the curve. In the end, we are paying extra for how future proof this board promises to be and the opportunity to take this leap with a proven eChessboard manufacturer.
      I had ordered a ChessUp despite several red flags regarding missed deadlines, updates getting pushed back and weak app funcitonality and as it stands, I may be looking into potentially returning it and just waiting it out for this one. The order was placed 2 weeks ago and the board hasn’t shipped which is ludicrous.

    • @FollowingDopamine
      @FollowingDopamine ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gvilla98 I got mine ordered also. It was just enough unique to justify the cost, but I will still say, 799 is a bit much.
      The Chessup, I love mine. It came in about 2 months ago and I ordered mine within the last 6 months but it was still in the buildup phase. Its a good board, great size for the desk.

      The problem with a lot of other boards is that it is required to have a phone/app connection. And support can be halted with 1, 3, 5 years and then you got a expensive piece of e-waste.

    • @ChessUSee

      Hello,
      The Maia chess engine that tries to imitate how a human plays chess has a maximum strength of 1900 ELO (ChessNut is currently working to improve it's maximum strength to 2400 ELO). The Stockfish engine has a maximum strength of 2850.
      LC0 is also on the Chessnut Evo board but the maximum strength of the engine depends on which of the ~15 chess computers you download from the internet.
      Hope this helps!

    Hi! We're working on launching an automated chess robot and we'd love to get your input to make it the best it can be! We're particularly interested in hearing from potential users like you about what features you'd like to see and what you think would be a fair price.
    Just to give you some context, we're a team within a leading AI company in Asia, focused on developing board game robots. We've already introduced two successful board game products that combine top-notch AI technology with robotic arms. They've been a hit in China for the past 2 years, finding their way into tens of thousands of households.
    Reply if you are up for a chat about it!

    Pretty much the worst of both worlds, a not convenient chessboard too small for the pieces, and not moving by itself the said pieces.

    • @ChessUSee
      @ChessUSee  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Eudes,
      I find that the tablet feature is very convenient as you no longer need to download an app on your phone and connect it to the board prior to playing a game. This size is about the same as a travel chess set and fits nicely on your lap. If you're looking for a larger electronic chess set with full piece recognition, I would recommend the Chessnut Pro.
      If you're looking for self moving pieces, then I would recommend the Square Off SWAP board as it's very quick and pretty reliable in it's piece movements.
      Edit: The Square Off SWAP seems to have some issues with the alignment of the pieces and is not as reliable as I was led to believe. Square Off has not been very responsive and isn't responding to emails for support. As of 20 October 2023, I am not able to recommend the Square Off SWAP as a reliable chess set choice.
