This is the best Kiss autobiography out of the four, and the only one that seems like it might be true.

Hes Italian. Passionate & fiery blood in them gravey veins. Not always most loyal. Def my favorite ppl. When an Italian loves ya, nothing like it. Nothing. Pete was over 50 by this stage n' dont doubt the twos nastiness towards him n Ace.
It's crazy to find out about how much of the other member's books ends up not being true.
I believed for years that Mark St. John actually had a medical condition, but when you hear about it from him, he said a lot of that was fabricated to explain why Bruce Kulick replaced him so quickly (which is fine, Bruce fit the group much better).
Yes, I'm glad I saved Peter's book for last. Peter made bad decision after bad decision. You hire a rookie lawyer to talk to sharks? When you hire a lawyer you get what you pay for. As with most things in life, it always comes down to money. You can definitely tell Gene and Paul held a grudge for Peter all those years and had no respect for him. Keep saying you're going to quit over every little thing is a guy I don't want to be in a band with. However Gene is a sleazebag, Paul has his tired ass stage schtick. Ace is a funny bunch of guys. I can see all of their points of view only so far. Personally I wouldn't want to be in a band with any single one of them. Paul did hold what was left of the band together in the 80's. It was a shame they lied to their fans putting out a sub par psycho circus album that wasn't a kiss reunion album. I think Peter's description of their actual last song is a perfect ending. Gigi was a gift to Peter. Paul and Gene hated her because she asked questions. Paul compared her to the girlfriend in spinal tap. Did she really screen his phone calls in the hotel rooms to Paul? If she did she should have stayed in her lane. I also think she probably thought she was protecting him.
Peter, without question, wrote the best of the four books. (or whoever wrote it.)

Peter Criss was always a malcontent in the Kiss organization.
Luckily for Paul and Gene they found Eric Singer who's temperament was far more compatible for the long haul.
They were tired of Peter whimpering like a little girl.

While Peter often gets moments of bitterness & it comes out , I actually enjoyed Peters book better than any of the rest. I even laugfhed about some of the things he said, like Paul prancing around & running across the stage & his banter lasting 5 full minutes & he said he wanted to throw a drumstick at him and calling him you fkking homosex*ual haha Petes book was quiet enjoyable
How bout when he mentioned Ace pretending to be Godzilla with the toy boats full of shrimp in the restaraunt? lol

I remember hearing the song Psycho Circus for the first time. It was...neat but I wasn't blown away. When I bought the CD, I was really disappointed. Ace's Into The Void was THE best song on the album. It's a shame that Paul and Gene conspired around Ace and Peter, using studio musicians without even consulting them. Ace and Peter proved they could work the grueling tour schedule so why not give them a shot to play on the whole album?

Post kiss partnership, he hired his lawyers and managers, and contracts are not difficult to read.
If he didn't have a deal for merch, he had nothing to complain about.
If he signed for $40k a night and that's what he was paid then he has nothing to complain about.
If he didn't have a contract for 25% of an album then quit complaining when you don't get it.
I like his playing on those 70s albums, but he's so lucky he connected with Paul and Gene, because there is no way he is capable of making a good decision on his own.
Ace was integral to the kiss sound, but they would have succeeded without Peter, they just wouldn't have had Beth.
All that being said, I hate the way Paul and Gene shit on his playing. He was a great drummer back then.
I agree with everything. I do feel bad for him on the reunion tour though because they clearly took advantage of his desperation at the time and low-balled him. If he had better representation he probably could’ve negotiated a higher fee. If he had walked the whole reunion would have been nullified. But it’s clear Gene and Paul valued Ace more than Peter. It’s probably the only reason they put up with his antics for so long.
@@nightshift8249After reading all the books - Gene and Paul still liked Ace for the most part ( 10 years ago anyways) but it was quite clear neither like Peter - especially Paul.
The only reason in the world that Kiss is still able to tour and sell any tickets… is because they still play a Setlist made up of songs that ace and Peter participated in… without those old songs with ace and Peter in them they would be nothing

Ace shouldn't have to explain himself about making more money than Peter. ACE ( or his lawyer) negotiated to get that money and Peter as usual, is lost in the dark, blaming everyone but himself. Peter picked that lawyer, he wasnt self appointed by the band or by Ace. ( and after listening to the book, Peter probably just picked the first lawyer he saw in the phonebook) Peter should be mad at himself - not Ace . Peter is like an angry jr highschool kid - blames the closes person he can.
All he had to do was 10 more shows but decided to quit. He could have earned an extra $400,000. Who wouldn't want to earn $400K in less than 2 months? Only Peter I guess.
