The reason you would steer someone to an Advantage plan is because they cannot leave that plan. Very quickly after signing up they are stuck and cannot leave the advantage plan without going through a medical review and coming out as perfectly healthy. Any issues and you are not allowed to go to traditional medicare.
You are allowed to go back to original Medicare during Open Enrollment EVERY year .You can leave Part C , and return to Original Medicare A and B on 1-1 ANY year .
You could also leave your Advantage plan for a different Advantage plan during the Annual or Open Enrollment periods, if you cannot pass underwriting to get a Supplement to go with original Medicare. There is no underwriting to enroll in or switch Advantage plans. Larger-population counties usually have dozens of Advantage plans to choose from. Some plans are better than others.
