@@kevingallagher7507 thanks for the feedback. I produce videos based on what I want to know. I also don’t do it to get someone to just buy something.

My previous putting practice setup consisted of a cheaper non-brand putting carpet, the PuttOut Pressure Trainer ramp and then Pelz Putting Tutor. With the switch to the WellPutt mat I am currently not using the other two training aids at the moment. But I did a quick test with the PuttOut Pressure Trainer to evaluate it against the WellPutt "good zone" markings.
The pressure trainer is basically a ramp that simulates the hole. If the ball would go into the hole, it will roll back towards you; if it falls off to either side, it was a miss. The aid has also what they call the "perfect putt micro target", where the ball would stop if it has the perfect speed and direction (and it is very hard to achieve this).
So I placed the pressure trainer on the WellPutt mat and checked its valid putts against the markings on the mat by rolling some balls manually from the ramp. The conclusion: the PuttOut Pressure trainer is a bit more forgiving, meaning that more powerful putts are still being counted as valid. Placing a ball into the micro target and making it roll into the WellPutt "good zone" leads to it stopping almost at the end of that zone (the wider orange zone further away from the hole). So it the mat is the bigger challenge compared to the other tool.

Great feedback Nicholas. This is why I love TH-cam. You get others to give their feedback on the same product as well as others. I really do love the WellPutt and the changes it's making in my game. Love that you're enjoying yours as well. Give me a followup as you use it more on what you're finding.

Thanks for the update. I got the same mat and it's great so far. What helped my putting so far was concentrating on getting a consistent putting stroke tempo (rhythm) across different putt distances. But I'm still learning. But I see already improvement.
I like the app to track my progress. But I think the app could be better; I don't understand why they chose to visualize the mat sideways instead of using more of the phone screen vertical space. And the video they show plays once and then gets obscured by an pause/replay overlay which hides usually the essential information. Minor complaints, I know, and with time I know already what I have to do without replaying the video etc.
Two ideas that popped up in my head that would be nice to have in the app:
    1. User created courses. Create a course and share it with others using some code/link/whatever.
    2. Daily/weekly challenges (randomly created by the app/wellputt servers, or even by the users themselves). Example: "Putt a ball over the hole into the wellputt zone from 3ft, 4.5ft and 6ft, then putt 3 balls from the hole line into zones 1, 3 and 5. If you miss one, start from the beginning again. How many tries do you need until you succeed?". Something like that, or then 3 challenges per day (easy, medium and hard difficulty).
I'm sure if they implement something like that (and create some sort of community around it), it would help with selling more matts as well 😉.

This just blew my mind. I love the feedback and will send your feedback directly to WellPutt to make sure it is seen. Thanks for the great feedback. Makes me think you are in tech or at least really enjoy it. Thanks for taking the time to share. DM me on Insta with your progress or additional ideas as you use it.

I may have to give this a look. I use a puttout mat sometimes. I found the same thing happening when rolling straight flat putts. I found my most success in stroke maintenance using a mirror, laser line, and a metronome. The metronome was game changer. My rhythm and tempo became unbelievable good using it. When I'm regularly doing that my stroke is on point. I also putt to the puttout pressure device. I forget the name of it. My biggest issue i found is breaking putts. With all of that, I see the value in the app and matt for speed control. The one thing I dont care for and is a complaint with my puttout mat, is the lines. While I appreciate them being there, I also found myself relying on them for being square. I typically just putt on my carpet and it rolls around a 10, the bonus is I can "rake" it to simulate grain, even though we don't have to deal with that too much in Pennsylvania. Excellent review Jeff, well done!

I used a simple metronome at first as well to get the tempo right. Now I just count to four when I'm in position. On 1 & 2 I hold the putter behind the ball, in 3 I complete my backswing, on 4 I complete the put (through the ball) , double the length of the backswing forward.
I practice this every day using the markings on the mat through all the distances, until I get 2 of 3 balls from the same distance into the safe zone. Then I'm warmed up and dialed in, and I get better scores on the 'mat courses'.

@nstohler75 I don't want to think about anything over a putt except my target. I don't want to think about speed, length of swing, tempo, nothing. Just the target. All that other stuff is noise interfering with your perception of the line

@ChasingTheTour I am. I look at what's been successful before and try to replicate it. Why try and reinvent the wheel? I believe that if the pros use it then I should give it a look. If they don't then it probably doesn't hold much water. I mean when you're playing for multimilliondollar purses you want every advantage possible right? I do think the mat holds merit. I've read a lot of books on putting, from science backed to pure mental. I've landed on the idea of seeing the line and rolling your ball. Nothing more nothing less.

Hi, i watched your video when you unboxed the wellputt and were hitting back and forth on it and followed up to see your review after a period of using it. I have 2 questions:
At 4.30 you talk about the perfectpractice mat getting a groove in it, i can see this would be frustrating. Did you find any groove or wrinkle issues with the wellputt?
And finally are these mats suitable on hard floor or are they useable on carpets too? Thank you

Which of these putting mats is best for using on carpet? I know it’s probably not ideal but that’s all I have and putting on the carpet itself isn’t effective
