    Glad you touched on the steering. There's just something magical about the way VWs steer and drive in general. They easily feel like a car that costs like 15-20k more.

    Nice video, a lot more artsy than I anything I can put together. I have a 2011 Golf TDI, coming up on 70k miles. I average about 45 mpg in decent weather. Volkswagens are an interesting combination of potential longevity vs fatal flaws.

    I work for a company that supplies parts to the reman facilities that rebuild tdi turbos. The reason you probably could not get a turbo is because they have been screwing around trying to get cheaper parts in China and its coming back to bite them in the ass...They are now backstroking and beggin for our more expensive but hi quality parts. I do not drive a tdi (i have old 300turbodiesel) but I do have the new 1.8t jetta and boy its a blast! APR chip coming soon! glad to see you have enjoyed your tdi They rock!

    I have a 2010 Jetta with 85k miles TDI with DSG transmission. 38mpg 80% freeway daily driving. I work for a vw dealership and I see 2013 jetta with 300k miles . Before I bought my jetta I asked to the tech about this particular model and they told me that they are the best engine and turbo issues are rare.

    Not great for the turbo to pop at 85k miles, I've read it's pretty common - Was this Jetta remapped?

    I assume that your low tire indicator light is on because you upgraded your rims and the new rims don't have the TPMS installed in them? Also, why is your check engine light on? (I know, every VW I have owned has a check engine light on!!!!!)

    Hey! I have a 2010 Jetta TDI also and have been driving it daily for about 2 years now. I take it to get oil changed every 5000 miles at the dealership and has had all major services done to it (DSG mainly). I haven't had a problem with my car yet (only has 65k miles on it) but was wondering if I should trade it before it gets that high in the mileage. I have babied the car and don't drive it fast at all. I noticed you had some lights on your speedometer area... what are those lights for? I am just curious because I really love my car, but can't afford to spend lots of money to fix it if something major happens. I am covered with a warranty that covers any mechanical failures but only till 70k. I love your video and am glad people like you make things like this! Thanks!

    • @Drivingwhileawesome
      @Drivingwhileawesome  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      The turbo has been the only reliability issue with the car so far. I have put on a few sets of brake pads, changed oil and i did have to change the wheel bearings at a little over 100k miles, but that is expected because I drive very demanding roads that put a lot of load on the wheel bearings.

    Believe me ,you will miss the diesel when you sell it. I bought my 2010 Jetta TDI 2.0 6 Speed 3 years ago at 62k so far I got 97. This is last of the best diesels. Yeah lots of carbon build up, had to change EGR valve,intake manifold and Exhaust filter but wouldnt give it back to the dealer for 20K or more. Diesel to the death especially the MKV . Good luck

      I get about 40-42 on the highway and I average about 34 on my commute which consists of super winding roads with a lot of elevation change. I also tend to drive it pretty aggressively.

    I find it funny you got all pissed off about your turbo blowing, 80k miles isn't exactly bad especially if your like me and got into boost a lot/drive your car hard. The month wait would piss me off but even then I wouldn't of swore off a brand.
    I just traded me nice 2010 golf TDI in for a 2016 Golf GTI.....still not sure if it was a good decision.
