    I clicked the "like" button with my G900 mouse after fixing it by following your instructions, so thank you! The final step was a bit different since the switches i bought where full, including the small connector, and then you have to unmount an additional piece, but don't need to use solder iron.

    Great video thanks for sharing. I did that repair yesterday excluding the soldering. Instead I bought the switches with the circuit board. There is only four extra screws to remove to be able to unplug the switches circuit board and swap them out. I'll probably do the soldering next time around, replacing the switch from the original circuit board before putting it back in.

    Bought this mouse back in 2016, been in love with ever since. Aside from my personal preference of ambidextrous mice and its many buttons (a total of 11, 12 if you include the button on the bottom side of the mouse) to set up shortcuts or macros for the games that I play or the apps that I often use, it's so durable (all of my Logitech's products that I owned are also just as durable). Proven by how after all these years that I'm still actively using it daily, *only ONE* (scroll wheel side click, the right-side switch, 2pin Kailh Micro Switch 7.3mm 3M click lifespan) out of all the switches that actually died on me. The left side switch still works, but it occasionally double-clicked for the past 8-10 months. It's amazing how out of all of the switches, the ones that have started to fail are those who has the lowest life cycle rating, while the rest is still working perfectly (left&right buttons that have regular Kailh Blue micro switches, left&right side button + middle 2 extra buttons that have Kailh Blue Dot SMT Mini micro switch 5M click lifespan). No double clicking or whatever. And the battery has only been reduced to be needing to be charged every 3-4 days since last year. For the first 4-5 years of use, I only need to charge once a month.
    What I'm in love the most with this mouse is the three-way click scroll wheel *and* the free-flowing scroll switch. It's very rare for other mouse to have this feature at the same time (G502 and G903 are another of Logitech's mice that have this feature), even Razer Basilisk Ultimate (which was significantly more expensive) only have the three-way click scroll wheel but not the free-flowing feature. It's such a shame and disappointing that I bought this mouse back in 2021 as a replacement for my G900, but after 2 years of very rare frequency of usage the scroll wheel starts to go crazy (I only use it when I use my laptop (in which I also rarely use for the past year), at least that's the plan until my G900 completely died out on me because I used the G900 on my desktop ever since it dropped its battery longevity).

    Good vid, I opted to buy new boards for both switches that are hot swappable, and a pile of various extra switches, my mouse will never die now! lol. i also cut tiny circles in the skates the same size as the screw heads and left them in place, so i never have to disturb them again when i take it apart ( this does leave holes in the bottom of the skates but its just cosmetic really, who looks at the bottom of your mouse! lasers are bad for your eyes anwyays lol!)

    I'm so glad I've watched this video before even thinking of trying to repair a mouse. My sausage fingers are not good for that amount of tiny screws and parts.

      I wouldn't discourage anyone from doing it! it just requires some patience and time on your hands (plus this mouse itself was a little bit more difficult to take apart but they're generally pretty easy)

      @@TechRodent I'd say I have the patience but my hands can go as far as building a computer on a full ATX case. A mouse seems to be too tiny for me. But I may try if I need to.

    Hi can you suggest any recommendation for engineering students laptop that can support solidwork and autocad or any spec that can support that software

    Why did they have to put the screws under the sticker and the skates? I'm afraid they won't stick properly anymore, especially at the edges, so they might get stuck in places, collect dirt or just not feel very smooth anymore. That's why I'm not opening it up. I just need to clean out the scroll wheel.
    We didnt see that in the video. Will the skates stick properly again if you removed them while heated?

      You can buy new mouse pads feet on Ali express for a few dollars

  • @Neknesch
    @Neknesch 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    If the switch is busted, how can blowing unter the left pad fix it for like 10 clicks and then the double click is back?
    I don't really get that, shouldn't just blowing on it do nothing?

    i did that with a switch i bought from ebay ... it lasted for 6 months . Thing is that you can never be sure that the switches you buy are going to be new ones so you are basically wasting your time unfortunately. Same goes with the battery which most batteries are crap out there or already used.

      As someone who repairs stuff on the regular, I disagree with this; I believe it has mostly been bad luck on your end, a lot of the devices where I change their batteries or parts/ switches etc end up lasting most times longer than they did out of the box

      You can get them from Amazon, AliExpress or your e-commerce site of your choice; just look for "mouse micro switch"
