    I would not want a two story home without at least a powder room on the 1st floor.

    I agree with one of the comments. I would’ve preferred the bathroom downstairs even if it was just a toilet and a small wash basin, instead of having people go upstairs. so I’m with her on that one.

      I agree. I'm also older and my knees don't work like they used to. I wouldn't be happy with this floor plan, either.

      Or tracking mud upstairs if you've been working in the garden or playing in a messy ballgame. Running up a flight to the bathroom when you get home is also is unappealing. Running up the stairs when you're sick can be problematic as well.
      They need to have more intelligent designers on the chanhel.

      I bet the “additional storage” with the higher transom looking window near the stairs was actually a powder room. They didn’t show it in the tour.

    • @audrab27

      @@megb9700 I hope so but even the contractor said something about not even having a powder room downstairs. I hope they did and it wasn't just storage like they said.

    Big mistake not to put a powder room on the main floor

  • @BrookeDoesScience
    @BrookeDoesScience ปีที่แล้ว +10

    For people complaining about the main floor not having a powder room … this is pretty common for this area. It drove me insane when living there, but I think buyers from the area wouldn’t be too surprised by it. Even my new townhome near there only had bathrooms on the top floor (and it was a 3 story). Absolutely a pain

  • @eleanoreagly4844
    @eleanoreagly4844 ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Great to have an ensuite. Personally I would also want a powder room on the first floor, would be OK with a tiny one but I would not want to go up full flight of stairs everytime to use the bathroom, and I know my guests also would not.

    Watch these girls each week. I don't know if it was their intention to buy this home all along, so they may have had a limited budget on what they wanted/needed to spend to make it saleable, but I definitely agree every two storey home must have a powder downstairs. Now they own it, perhaps they could put one in now.

    I really did like the final result over all,it was good but I didn't really feel the age of the house!!! It was just contemporary, nothing about it felt like it's a historical house, I don't know why I dislike it too😂 something is odd , the design doesn't match expectation of a historical building, and no-one would want to send their guest upstairs in the bathroom......

    • @brendadavis7432
      @brendadavis7432 ปีที่แล้ว

      That house from the outside looks very weird to me. It doesn't look like a craftsman or anything special on the outside, plus the owner's dad had already remodeled the kitchen to make it look modern for 1977. There wasn't a lot of historical stuff in it to begin with.

  • @brennagreenglasspeacock

    The purpose for the area by the front door could have been a tiny lavatory. Cool they ended up purchasing it tho.

  • @lindanorton2088

    It seems unethical that they would buy the house. They could say the house was worth less just to get it cheaper. It would be an uncomfortable situation.

    There needs to be a toilet on 1st floor.
    Grandparents old farmhouse wasn't built with inside bathroom. They enclosed tge back porch (full width of house) and it held the two deep freezers, exercise bike, other stuff. There were 3 enclosed porches. One not interior quality.. Front of house porch left open. Bathroom off freezer porch. It had its own heat.)
    An old farm couple added a toilet and sink under the staircase. It was a tiny room but everyone appreciated it. You really don't want all potty traffic of anyone coming over in your bedroom spaces.

      Years ago, I bought what was to become my retirement home. Everything is on one floor, and the bathroom had already been redone to be handicapped accessible (the prior owner went into a nursing home at 80). I retired at 68, moved into it in 2019, and sold my two story home a few month's later. The ease of taking care of this smaller home, even though I don't need handicapped accessibility features right now, reinforces the fact that it was one of the best decision's I could have made.
