Much improved but the kitchen tile backsplash design is strange looking, like it isn’t finished.

Yeah it could’ve been better….and then the color is awful. I normally love everything they do. That was a miss for me in the kitchen.

The kitchen is so gorgeous really! Really loved the live edge tiles. It might look like it wasnt finished, but it’s so unique and the colour is great tho it’s a bit dark, it flows throughout the house. This house is my favourite!
It’s worth it to watch the whole version of this and then you can see the whole house better at the end.

I think Stan may have dementia. That's why his reactions are delayed and minimal. That's probably why he moved closer to family too. It would also explain the unkempt home. Poor guy. Aside from that, I was floored by the transformation! It looks like a rich person's house!
I think in general older people like how their house was, they don't see the need for all that they did. He wondered where the microwave was. He said, "What happened to my old railing?" He probably didn't see the need to change that, and maybe he even worked on the railing. I do agree that the clutter could be a sign of something more.
@L. Spencer good points you make. What a hard thing to have to give up your home to live in "someone else's" because of life's circumstances.
He probably doesn’t understand some of the things they did and the terminology they used. He was old and alone, which could be the cause of the clutter and mess. A lot of older people don’t show extreme excitement….other than a smile or simple words.

Lol the elderly gentleman isn’t very impressed. It reminds me of my own grandfather. He was very sentimental about his home and leaving it.
Well, he's probably lived in that house for 50 years. And it just got to be too much for him to manage. There were a lot of memories in that house for him. I'm sure. But I'm glad they were able to fix it up and he got a good price for it.
Well said, both comments. I lived with my grandma and it reminds me of how she was. She never wanted updating in her house, unless something broke.
I know when I've sold homes they still feel like "my" homes and the new owners' remodels feel offensive--like my designs weren't good enough for them. Of course, this is what happens when anyone sells a house and the new owner can do whatever he or she wants to do to.

The house was beautiful. They did a fantastic job. Stan, may simply be neurodivergent. I love seeing someone who has a different reaction. The OMGs! And over the top reactions while great for immediate feedback have been done to death! 😂

The kitchen redo is a fail. It's different but not better, except that his clutter is gone. Would have loved to have kept the massive rhodies but pruned them into trees.
I always question their choices.

Where WAS the microwave? The look of the kitchen is better, but no upper cabinets and no upper shelves. I would need more storage than that.
