I don’t get the not letting go of family photos though? You not getting rid of them you are just taking them down off the wall and you would have to do that anyway if you moved. The house looked fabulous afterwards!
I don't get any of these people. They don't want to live there anymore but they're still, "Oh, don't change anything! We have to have a zillion pics of our kids on the wall while we try to unload this place!" The After is stunning!
Lol, those original listing pictures 😂 what were they thinking? Picture of a wall/doorway, picture of their kids in the middle of a bunch of toys on the ground, an a picture of a hallway leading to a bedroom instead of a picture of the bedroom itself 🤣
I sympathize with the mom's difficulty letting go, but it's SUCH good advice to take down every single family photo. Buyers need to be able to visualize their own life in a clean-slate space, not feel like they're evicting a family that still wants to live there. It can help to focus on the positives if you can't move out while the house is being shown. You are giving someone the gift of a space that's meant a lot to you, and (if you're willing to visually move out while still living there), they're giving you a LOT more $$$ that could be meaningful to your family.
I would have planted a decorative tree that blocked the view of the road from the living room.
The people with a million family photos ALL over the walls always freak me out.

Does anyone ever just pay them for their investment and then keep their house? This was quite a transformation.
I was thinking that too!! But the contract does say they will get half the proceeds so there is a cost to just doing the reno work...twins want more than just the cost.
I miss this program so much. Their concept is very uniquely different from other shows.
Yeah, I'm sick of the husband wife renovators. That's all hgtv does now.

I am looking at flats to buy, and am eliminating all those with open kitchens. Cooking smells are best in the kitchen, and not in the living or sleeping area.
I only thing I would change is adding a fence between the yard and the street.

The sellers had multiple offers and sold for over the list price.
@@eattherich9215 good because they forgot to include taxes to be paid for selling the house. Tarek and Christina always include that when doing the comps
@@carmelagarin8645 There wouldn't be any federal tax liability on the sale since it's their primary home. If they didn't use a realtor there would be extremely minimal closing costs as well.
@@dbrunsrtrom but from my understanding, it's much easier for them to sell if they have a realtor. And in their country I think it's required unless the buyer is a family member
Declutter my a**. When these women stage a home they put so much crap on every surface it drives me nuts. The worst thing is the innumerable pillows they put on every single surface except the kitchen counter.

It’s another time of the year. One need to set goals and take a bold step in achieving them. Remember success are not obtained overnight. It’s comes in installments; you get a little bit today a little bit tomorrow until the whole package is given out the day you procrastinate you lose that day of success.

@@saffronbarker865 From my own point of view, you need to invest smartly, if you need the good things of life. so far i've made over $505k in raw profits from just q4 of the market from my diversified portfolio strategy and i believe anyone can do it you have the right strategy. mutual funds takes long time but investing smartly is the key for short term. Most of us tend to pay more attention to the shiniest position in the market to the cost of proper diversification.
I'm an amateur investor, i have 2 IRAs, I do not like the cookie cutter responses from Fidelity, Vanguard Schwab, etc 7%-9% year on average, how do you invest?
My portfolio is very much diversified so it's not like i have a particular fund i invest in. plus i don't do that by myself. i follow the trades of KAREN GAYE GRAY. She is a popular broker you might have heard of. I can correctly say she's worth her salt as a financial adviser as her diversification skills are top notch/ I say because i see that in her results as my portfolio grows by averages of 10 to 15% on a monthly basis. unlike i can say for my IRA which has just been trudging along. my portfolio just mirrors what she
trades and not just on some particular industries of my choosing.
@@veeragrawal2976 By following trades do you mean copying her trades, as is done in etoro? Are you giving her your money or the money stays in your account? I have heard about copying trades but have not looked into it but i have an idea of what it is.
Not a very good ending. Did it sell? Did the couple get the price they wanted? We will never know.....

I'm not from the US, so I don't quite get it. Could someone explain, why won't people buy a cheaper house and then renovate it the way they want? I mean, you won't convince me that you absolute love EVERYTHING in that house. Eventually you will want to change something. Also, you won't buy a house because the wall is red? Really? Come on, you can paint it the way you want. I don't get it. Is it that the people are to lazy to renovate, or that they just don't have any imagination what and how to change?
Folks in my country mostly buy houses to renovate, because they are much more cheaper and they want to renovate them how they please.
Not everyone wants to go through the stress, work, and upheaval of selling their own house, moving, and then getting into the mess, work, and expense in the new place. This way, the new owners can move in and do nothing. They might want to change something down the road, but they're not moving into the disaster this place was. Redoing kitchens and bathrooms is very expensive, inconvenient, and chaotic.
The price of the reno is reasonable for a change.

Hire a designer with experience in remodeling, not just decorating. There are designers that work remotely via zoom. Fees are fairly reasonable as well.

Black shiplap! A home run. The only piece I dislike is the butcher block "island" with half-black legs. Looks awkward.
I loved it too. I have two walls in my admittedly tiny bathroom, painted black.
You stopped it quickly and we didn't get to see if it was sold !

Remove the basketball hoop. It keeps reminding people about street.
Many needed improvements were made, but that black wall would be a turnoff for some prospective buyers. The house should be neutral, and let the new owner make the strong decorative statements.
I wouldn't have chosen black for the living room wall. It's too extreme of a color and when you're selling, you want to go with neutrals.
