All Performance Mode does is raise the bar where the lag will appear, it doesn't get rid of it completely (at least not when I've used it). @@ScopeyNZ I think adjacency rerollers and attached rerollers are literally some of the best items in the game. You just have to get a set of dice rerolling themselves at the same time so they can affect each other. The easiest way to do this is to place adjacency rerollers on the center die, and place your multipliers and high number dice adjacent to it with a weight and glue on the most valuable face. Attached rerollers also work but glue is less effective because a glued face can't reroll itself, so it's better to not weight the die at all to maximize your reroll chances. Just today I got a score of 1.8 trillion using reroll strats. Essentially I got the "Run Multiplier" passive or whatever it's called, where if you get 3 or more dice with numbers all in a row (a run), it multiplies all dice in the run by the highest number in the run. I realized that upgrade would be absolutely insane if you rolled 97-98-99, because all those numbers (and any additional 99s i think) would be multiplied by 99. So I purchased two 94..99 dice, set all faces to 97 and 98 respectively, and put 3x rerollers on every face to get this effect on every roll. Then I put together a die with four 99 faces, a void face, and a 10x previous roll multiplier face. So on top of the 2x void face multiplier, about 1/8 of the time it would multiply the entire previous roll by 20 (10x times 2 from the void face). I made a copy of that die and moved both of them next to an adjacency reroller die so they'd roll 2-3 extra times per roll. I also had the "Top 3 Multiplier" passive, which multiplies the 3 best dice by 10 and cuts all other dice in half. Then I surrounded the adjacency reroller die with 10x total roll multipliers and wilds. Eventually upgrades started to become too expensive to pay themselves off so I just rolled out to a cool 1.8 trillion.
These videos are almost addictive. Relaxing, peaceful, and just interesting enough to keep you hooked onto it's concept. Keep going for more! This is just great, but so is everything you do!
From the summary of the bottom die, it seems to me that the rerolls are not acting as intended. Whenever it rerolls into a non-numeric face, instead of using the effect as is, it takes it as 0. My guess would be that when rerolls happen, it is treated as a single die roll, so any effects that says something like "x10 of highest die face of current roll" or "copy highest value of current roll" will not be counted, since no other dice has 'rolled' during that single reroll.
Actually it is working as intended, but it’s similar to your guess. If you look carefully, you can see that the bottom die rolled 4 times because of the attached x3 reroll, while all the other dice only rolled 3 times. Since the x3 was the only die rolled, it had nothing to multiply, so it was 0.
Interesting yea I was noticing that when I was trying to stack rerolls with multipliers. It’s not just the big x10 faces this happens to as well. Other non numeric faces that rely on roll results have the same thing.
Yeah it's not worded well, but a re-roll is another roll with ONLY the re-rolled dice. So if 3 of 5 dice are re-rolled, it's a unique set. If a multiplier is re-rolled by itself, it's in a set by itself. The solution is to get x3 re-rolls on all your dice, and then you get 3 full rolls every roll.
The reason why the full roll multipliers always appeared to be worth 0 near the end of the run is because you had every die being rerolled twice but the multiplier die being rerolled 3 times, so on its final roll, there's nothing else for it to multiply. The three other rolls that don't get ultimately displayed will have the multiplier take effect on those entire rolls, but when it's the only thing that gets rerolled the final time, there's nothing for it to multiply

Your bottom dice was working. rerolled dice act like isolated dice and are not affected by the other dice on the board, so when you had x10 it had nothing to multiply and was 0. If you read the entire analytics thingy it would show the roll result for 3 different rolls and usually the previous 2 rolls did give you points.
Ayo Tyler, the way price scaling works is based on how many points you have earned in total. This means you should do shop refreshes as soon as possible if there's nothing you want, waiting around means the shop prices are climbing higher. Also, I'm not completely sure, but I think shop refreshes (except free ones) increase in price each time you pay for them. With this in mind, it can be useful to purchase a shop refresh adder face, put a weight on it, and give it a ton of reroll effects. This will allow you to be more picky about which upgrades you choose, the less you spend on shit upgrades the less your points will be gouged later on. Also, I've done the math on the first tier of shop upgrades- at best, they're only marginally better than buying nothing. It's usually better to just gun it and unlock the second shop tier right away, which will add a second dice and double your income anyway. Then you'll have access to more high quality items like multipliers, incrementors, and rerollers.
@@edomeindertsma6669 well yeah, I meant machine learning not a solved best solution. So it would just try different stuff and have the score after each roll input, stuff like that.
At the start, it's best to add those +X on the lowest die as that will raise the average higher then doing it on the already highest die. +3 on a 6 is +50% for that 6, but on a 1, it's +300%. So for any + boost, put it on lowest die
In addition a rerolled multiplier can only affect other rerolled die, so if say you reroll a die 3 times and on the third reroll you get your times 10 but no other die was rolled 3 times then the 10 times will give a net result of 0
Hello Tyler, I think the reason you were lagging is because it’s trying to render way too much points or whatever it’s called, you might want to change the setting if there is one. There’s a practical soft limit on how much things can render at a time, despite your rendering power. Love your vids btw
quite sure if you read the text of the dice rerolls, multipliers can only affect the numbers of other rerolled dice, therefore since no other dice has been rerolled, wilds and x10s do not have any other valid dice to copy from therefore the result is 0,
@Tyler I hope this clears up all confusion in this video: 1. The performance issues were because of the animations (there is a performance mode in the options that turns them down) 2. The bottom die being 0 on its last reroll is intended: When dice are rerolled they ONLY look at other rerolled dice. This means when a multiplier or wild is rerolled on its own it will always be worth 0. In your case the bottom die was the only one getting rerolled thrice, all others were rerolled twice. This means the last roll of it would always be worth 0 unless it's numeric. There are some die faces that explicitly state that they disobey this rule, I think adjacency multipliers are one of them, but generally this is how it works. 3. Keep up the great work, love the content :D EDIT: I put two example in the replies
As an example for the reroll and glue mechanic, taking dice from the video, Roll 1163 (28:30) First Roll: -All dice rolled per default, -bottom one showed X10, gets glued. Worth much First and Second reroll: -All dice rolled because of your
Yeah I don't he gets that computes are literaly designed to calculate big numbers it's the thing they do best it's 100 just the overabundance of sprites
The reason some of the multipliers and whatever said 0 was because the faces that are affected by/affect numeric dice only do their effect if a numeric face was also rerolled with them. Example: a wild and a 9 are rolled (numeric 9, wild = 9), but the wild is rerolled, and not the 9, so it was as if only a wild was rolled, so the wild is nothing (no numeric value, wild = 0). The wild still gave a 9, but the thing that shows the numbers will say 0 because its last roll was a 0.
@@xraidev Also, the "swap 2 dice" upgrade allows you to swap a die with itself, I accidentally wasted this upgrade by doing this lol. I assume the same issue happens with the "swap 2 faces" upgrade as well. It's not a glitch, you are just misunderstanding what a reroll is. It's essentially another separate roll, but only for those dice. When the die with the multiplier is the only one to have 3 rerolls, it will have nothing to multiply for that 3rd reroll.

@@antfarmer2227 the integer limit is just for the leaderboard. It will go till the game breaks and it does, had about 900 dies one game because of massive amounts of die breeders and breeder die breeders, and the shop legit wasn't usable anymore since the amount of die messed it up
TH-cam knows I watch your videos as I go to sleep and puts them at the first spot on my feed when I open my phone late at night. It's weird if you think about it, but I'm here for it.
This is true. Price scaling works based on how many total points you earn, so if you earn a bunch of points to buy crappy tier 1 upgrades, the next upgrades when the shop refreshes will be more expensive. It's usually better to skip the first tier of upgrades entirely and just upgrade to the second shop level so you have access to better upgrades for cheaper, and you get a second die for free anyway which doubles your income.
The rerolls that happen on a multiplier only work on faces that were rerolled as many times as the multiplier (it says so in the reroll information). You x10 was the only dice that was rerolled 3x so that's why it gave 0
POE (an ARPG) has similarly confusing wording. But having played that game, I understand what this game is saying. You wouldn't think that there would be a difference between "increase" and "more", but there is. Sometimes I find myself yelling at my monitor "that's not what that means". ANd I don't even own this game, lol
Yeah, for example some passives which "increase" dice should be reworded to "increment", to be consistent with incrementor items which permanently raise the number on numeric faces.
4:51 The face currently on 53 will take 92 rolls to get to 99. The face currently on 20 will take 79, plus will be on 99 for 13 rolls waiting for the other face to catch up. The 20 side: ((20+99)/2)x79 + 13x99 = 5988 The other side: ((53+99)/2)x92 =6992 So you made the correct decision but it was fairly close
Hey Tyler. If you see this, might I reccomend the game "Outer Wilds"? It's more of a exploration game, where the puzzles are figuring out how to get to new areas, and the prize is more lore and or knowledge about how to solve an obstacle to let you get to a new area. I'm not sure how it would do as a youtube series, but it could be very fun to stream.
I know an explanation has already been given for how rerolls work but I can probably put it more simply. If a dice isn't rerolled, it's completely ignored by other rerolled dice. The only exception is for passives and faces that count the number of dice you have. Also, rerolls do not ever stack. A dice can only ever receive 1 reroll bonus during 1 of your rolls. I'm pretty sure that any passives and bonuses that provide a reroll are just straight up ignored by the game the moment a reroll happens. As it would make the most sense to program it that way.
so a strategy I used to crack a trillion (currently with the strategy my high score is 400 trillion and puts me at 120 on the leaderboard) is a strategy I call the five fives. pretty much your goal when using this strategy is to eventually have 5 dice with every face on every die being a numeric value of 5. early game play as normal just make sure to leave one face on each die as 5 so you can set every face on the die to 5 later, make sure you dont use incremntors and make sure you dont use die adders you only want 5 dice. then mid game when you almost max out the shop and can begin purchasing background multiplers (the 2 upgrades in the bottom right corner of the shop) and begin setting all your die faces to 5. then once you get your fifth and final die its time to get the ball rolling. get as many background multipliers as possible multipliers such as Yahtzee multipliers (every roll will be a Yahtzee), prime numbers multipliers (5 is a prime number), numbers below 13 multipliers (obviously 5 is lower than 13), top 3, less than 6 die multipliers, numeric value multiplers, etc (also the reroll versions of these multipliers work well). with this every time you roll your numbers are getting multiplied so many times that when you use analytical mode the multipliers go off the screen. hope this helps someone out there whos looking for a really solid strategy that once you get the hang of can get you consistently in the trillions and when you get lucky get scores in the 100s of trillions
I guess considering the fun is seeing the numbers go higher, I think the best solution to the lag is to render your pips gained as numbers instead on the dice that generated the thing so that the numbers are shown without the cascading of pips.
Hey so I found something about the game: So, let's say you have 300,000 and want to buy an item in the shop thats 1,000,000. If you grind up to the million and actually hit it, the next time you reroll your rerolls wills become REALLY expensive, so usually trying to stay under milestones like million and billion unless necessary is a good idea. I'm not 100% sure what all the milestones are but I do know what 1,000,000 is, its not the most helpful tip as you already pretty much do this but it is nice to know just so you arent confused when your rerolls jump up 10x
There are no milestones but prices scale based on the number of dots you earned since the last reroll, so if you get a lot of points between shop refreshes, then prices will be much more expensive. Make sure you are picky with your shops because of this!
If you wanna get some real high scores go for a weightless build. There is a passive that gives 3 rerolls of you have no weights. Really broken with the cube passive too. Just get 9 dices and throw some good shit on them and youll get top 100 ez. But i recommend lowering resolution bc it’ll chrash your pc.
I should try a weightless build sometime, usually I've already got a bunch of attached rerollers and weighted dice by the time I can buy passives so it isn't the best choice. I'll have to try avoiding weights and aim to get that passive in one of my next runs. I got 250th or so on the leaderboard with just attached and adjacency rerollers, but the weightless reroll item has the potential to make everything much more consistent...
I'd be willing to bet that the crash and errors you were experiencing weren't because it was struggling to calculate the values, but that the rendering of several billion black dots was the problem. That it froze and only moved one frame means that the programmer probably didn't use the trick to not render things covered by other things, and so it was trying to render several billion black dots instead of just the upper layer. Edit: Yeah I think I'm right, you notice how the lag goes away over time as the black dots get removed from rendering when they're absorbed. Did you ever check your GPU stress during the recording? Because that's probably what was causing all of the lag.
One strat I tried to get to 3 quadrillion is straight off the bat get the shop upgrade then go for dice upgrades doesn’t matter which face or die. And just keep getting it until your at around like 1800 rolls left. Then start to go for the rest of the shop upgrades while trying to get reroll x3 on all faces and all dies Stick with only the dice you get from the shop upgrades for now then start to also get as many passives. Do not get incrementers or any face multipliers. Only get rerolls and dice face number upgrades to go higher and higher until you get to around like 61, 67, 71, 73, 79, 83, 89, 97. As those are prime numbers. Once you get one of those numbers on any dice then upgrade that entire dice to have that face with the prime number so that all faces have the same number. So once that’s the case you want to make one face of that die to have the previous reroll X10 or 5 whichever you get tbh Then really start to get as many passive upgrades as you can. Like doubles bonus, no weight bonus, no 99 bonus, reroll bonus, Yahtzee bonus and whatever else adds to the values. One of the biggest ones is the upgrade to allow non numeric dies to also be multiplied. You will see a hugeeee jump. So once you start to get all those going and almost all your dies are a high prime number on all sides except for one that is a previous reroll X10 and all faces reroll x3 or the passive with the reroll x3 if no weights are there. Then just copy dies until you have 13 and you will probably beat my score but the chances of getting all passives before running out are small it took me forever to even get that quadrillion run What you want to focus on is the rerolls and the passives and then start to get everything

At the start, it's best to add those +X on the lowest die as that will raise the average higher then doing it on the already highest die. +3 on a 6 is +50% for that 6, but on a 1, it's +300%. So for any + boost, put it on lowest die
ohmygosh! potion seller yesterday and roll now, tyler is spoiling us at this point

From what I understand you get the points from EVERY roll. So every reroll pays out not just the last one
In addition a rerolled multiplier can only affect other rerolled die, so if say you reroll a die 3 times and on the third reroll you get your times 10 but no other die was rolled 3 times then the 10 times will give a net result of 0
Exactly! It’s definitely confusing though…
The bottom dice has 3 rerolls, while all other dice have 2 because of the
Hello Tyler, I think the reason you were lagging is because it’s trying to render way too much points or whatever it’s called, you might want to change the setting if there is one.
There’s a practical soft limit on how much things can render at a time, despite your rendering power.
Love your vids btw
4:26 - "These things are gonna meet at 86"
Is nobody gonna talk about how fast he did that math??
quite sure if you read the text of the dice rerolls, multipliers can only affect the numbers of other rerolled dice, therefore since no other dice has been rerolled, wilds and x10s do not have any other valid dice to copy from therefore the result is 0,
Yep!
@Tyler I hope this clears up all confusion in this video:
1. The performance issues were because of the animations (there is a performance mode in the options that turns them down)
2. The bottom die being 0 on its last reroll is intended:
When dice are rerolled they ONLY look at other rerolled dice.
3. Keep up the great work, love the content :D
EDIT: I put two example in the replies
As an example for the reroll and glue mechanic, taking dice from the video,
Roll 1163 (28:30)
First Roll:
-All dice rolled per default,
-bottom one showed X10, gets glued. Worth much
First and Second reroll:
-All dice rolled because of your
Im loving this, and I'm loving the length of the video
the lag most probably comes from too many different draw calls/sprites, not the numbers themselves
*YOU CANT SAVE UPGRADES FOR LATER!*
If you had bought something else or rolled you purchase would have been deleted.
Good call, I’m working on fixing this issue too!
@@xraidev Also, the "swap 2 dice" upgrade allows you to swap a die with itself, I accidentally wasted this upgrade by doing this lol. I assume the same issue happens with the "swap 2 faces" upgrade as well. It would be nice for the first die you select to be highlighted so you don't forget which die you clicked, and clicking it a second time deselects it so you can choose to swap a different die.
ya DOOFUS, it's GPU not CPU lag...
it's trying to render BILLIONS of glossy dots, and transform their size while moving 'em, calculating just the numbers would be easy enough for even a smartphone, lol

wait, does it actually render every single dot? that sounds like it shouldn't even be possible for either the gpu or cpu to handle
That first passive shop was so insanely lucky, I don’t think you appreciated that enough haha
It's not a glitch, you are just misunderstanding what a reroll is. It's essentially another separate roll, but only for those dice. When the die with the multiplier is the only one to have 3 rerolls, it will have nothing to multiply for that 3rd reroll.
Exactly! It’s a weird interaction to pick up on though

40 minutes of aliensrock roll. must be heaven
I feel like a big part of doing well is to not overshoot in the early stages
This is true. Price scaling works based on how many total points you earn, so if you earn a bunch of points to buy crappy tier 1 upgrades, the next upgrades when the shop refreshes will be more expensive. It's usually better to skip the first tier of upgrades entirely and just upgrade to the second shop level so you have access to better upgrades for cheaper, and you get a second die for free anyway which doubles your income.
FYI, it is useful to reroll the shop even if its not free. So you can get the best powers.
The best lotto is the 20% 1/4 lotto die since you can make it work up to 25x the rest of the roll with face multipyer stacking
40 minutes of ROLL to help me not roll off the bed in the morning? hell yeah
“Because, the jackpot is to have a big number multiplied by a face multiplier, multiplied by the big number, be multiplied.”
4:51
The face currently on 53 will take 92 rolls to get to 99. The face currently on 20 will take 79, plus will be on 99 for 13 rolls waiting for the other face to catch up.
The 20 side:
((20+99)/2)x79 + 13x99 = 5988
The other side:
((53+99)/2)x92 =6992
So you made the correct decision but it was fairly close
Total roll multipliers are not very common but ARE the way to big scores (they appear on the middle row after enough upgrades)
Hey so I found something about the game:
So, let's say you have 300,000 and want to buy an item in the shop thats 1,000,000.
@@areadenial2343 its rlly good I got top 50 with it
I'd be willing to bet that the crash and errors you were experiencing weren't because it was struggling to calculate the values, but that the rendering of several billion black dots was the problem.
The reason it's lagging is likely rendering all of the dots, doing simple math shouldn't lag even small computers

One of my favorite games you play. Hope to see more of it even tho theres not much to do

One strat I tried to get to 3 quadrillion is straight off the bat get the shop upgrade then go for dice upgrades doesn’t matter which face or die. And just keep getting it until your at around like 1800 rolls left.
Then start to go for the rest of the shop upgrades while trying to get reroll x3 on all faces and all dies
Stick with only the dice you get from the shop upgrades for now then start to also get as many passives.
So once that’s the case you want to make one face of that die to have the previous reroll X10 or 5 whichever you get tbh
Then really start to get as many passive upgrades as you can.
Then just copy dies until you have 13 and you will probably beat my score but the chances of getting all passives before running out are small it took me forever to even get that quadrillion run
What you want to focus on is the rerolls and the passives and then start to get everything
It’s because the multiplier dice was being rolled more than the other dice and they can only multiply dice that are rolled with it
Please elaborate
Gabriel Beltran when the dice get a reroll modifier it’s like a brand new roll so if he has a dice with more rerolls than the other it will be the only dice rolling for that instance and will have nothing to multiply therefore giving 0
@@gabrielbeltran3320 I’m the dev, I made a comment with explanation if you’re interested! But he’s right!
