It fills me with joy to know that this majestic creature is forever immortalized in an official Nintendo title. In Japan circles replace ticks. The level around 28:00 had a circle to one side and a cross to another. You were guessing which way you could/n't look but the circle was there telling you the whole time!

The 3rd level is based on a popular Japanese / Chinese children's game, or as a way to asign tasks to random people or draw a loterry. You write the names of people at the top, and a matching length list of things or people at the bottom. You then link all the items in the top to the items in the bottom but add random sideways lines. You choose one of the lines at the top, and follow it down - but you must change direction when you hit a sideways line. Of course, you draw in many sideways lines to make it as random as possible. This is called "Ghost Leg" or "阿弥陀籤" (Amidakuji / Amida Lottery).
