- So what is a "trad-wife"? Well, it’s internet shorthand for traditional wives. We take a look at the women influencers extolling the virtues of staying at home while yielding to their husbands. Annette Young asks researcher, Cecile Simmons, if there is a more sinister element behind the trend. Also France boasts one of the world's highest percentages of women in uniform. Yet the country still lags behind when it comes to addressing sexual assault and harassment in the military, according to female ex-soldiers.

Also if you are an influencer it’s a JOB so technically you aren’t a “Trad Wife” if you are an influencer- because it’s a job and u can’t have that!
no only technically but actually, since influencers sometimes make good money and it can be more than their husbands having 'normal' jobs but they like to sell its audience some BS ideas like 'I'm just a trad wife and my husband provides for me and solves all the problems while I'm just being pretty for him' at the same time creating content every day.
And it’s an extremely time-consuming one because you’re preparing and writing out all of your content before filming, editing, and uploading it. It’s kinda hard to be an attentive caregiver if you’re doing that every week or more. If it’s their choice, it’s fine. But I think they’re trying to sell it to people as if they’re the most authentic representatives of it (basically like every other influencer with a shiny new lifestyle trend).
It is called ending feminism using fashionable trends.

I think "TradWife" means traditional wife.
Traditional wife's of the 50's and before had no bank accounts and no jobs, we're stuck in being the property of their husbands. How is trad wife to have your own escape in case your trad husband break your bones?@@alexsilent5603

Typical modern media on the trad wife issue.. It's now far- right to suggest a lifestyle choice that was largely the norm just one or two generations ago.

Let’s not be obtuse. It’s a lifestyle that is mostly endorsed and positioned by conservative right-wing people. That’s why they are called ‘conservatives’. This is the tradition they prefer to conserve compared to liberals. It’s not a baseless accusation unless you think it’s a bad thing or fear judgement. But it’s definitely a valid observation.
The guests supposed connections she draws between traditional culture and far-Right ideologies seems a bit tenuous and far-fetched. Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, as Freud once stated.

I grew up in the fifties. I can say that the “wives “ of that time were really frustrated with their homemaker roles.
I think anti-feminism appeals to people who don’t want the responsibility or pressure of the modern world. Understandable. 🤷♀️ I’m sure they genuinely love serving their families. But most women do that already, without calling it a trend or tradition.
What she said about DV seems like conjecture considering we haven’t seen a difference in the rates since women have been liberated fifty years ago. It all depends on how men are being socialized to perceive women, not necessarily financial independence. A man can harm you in a house that you own. It’s a complicated subject.
Let's not forget the hundreds of millions of people (mostly women) undiagnosed with a neurological disorder and this might be a way to cope with an unforgiving neurotypical world
“Trad wife” = Stepford wife. As you can imagine, the idea is much more popular among certain men, particularly incels. Advocating for “trad wives” falls in the category of “show you have a fragile ego without saying you have a fragile ego.” 😂

When you say that women should behave in a particular way and not do this or do that to be accepted by the society at large then apply the same standards to men. But it's ironic that it hardly happens since we live in a male dominated society who just can't see a woman excelling thus they want to mold women according to their needs for which social media is responsible to a large extent in degrading women. Don't generalize this regressive trend

I think it is better for women to play both roles by working and also being feminist as long as they are assisted fully by their husbands. That way they both strike a balance.

It really sucks that we can't be partners in trust and mutual goals. If we can't cooperate around having and raising healthy and sane children, then why even bother to try? Kids need parents who can set aside their personal greed and focus on the well being of the next generation.
