Hi again Spud, you are dead right years ago i saw the RYAN MOODY castnet throw and its my go to cast, it's that time again live bait big fish. Cheers Chris
HI Spud, i have spent the weekend so far doing a rewire on my tinnie , after ten years or so it needed to be done anyway, mate you were saying you chase your mullet at night for bait , and have no trouble finding them. i have chased prawns in the river at night and did ok , so thanks i will give those places a go. Cheers Chris
Yeah as for boggy creek, i isually do 4-6 knots in the dark until i start spotting mullet in the general area. Then i slow cruise with the electric and no torch, only looking for a glimmer of there ripples. If you shine torch on them before casting, they will scatter.
Great video mate! I’ve been seeing a few of your vids pop up lately and always enjoy them/learn something. I just subscribed, keep up the great work 🙌🎣
Terrific video mate. Whats that fish there? We have the same specie here on the other side of the world and use same setup for it. As for mullets, if you want them gather in one stop, throw some pieces of bread on the water. They usually flock to it and fight over it. Cheers
Its a jewfish, or the scientific name is Argyrosomus japonicus. Yeah mullet around here aren’t super keen on bread, and i get the impression they feed on silt off the bottom. Down south my mate catches a different mullet for bait on bread all the time though.
I’ve probs caught about 8 jew there of varying sizes and a couple snapper in the 60s over the past 24 months. It fishes better with minimal run as the current can rip through there. Baitfish like herring schools also show up on the sounder. If they aren’t around it get pretty quiet. I think the combination of eddies, a good dropoff into the channel, is a good mix. When i caught the jewie in the video, there was also a bit of boat traffic around.
Yeah thats easy my biggest. I guess whether jew or threadys are there depends a bit on time of year. In winter ive caught more threadys in the city reaches. Nearly all on live mullet.
@@gdaam1377 i have caught them there before. I didn’t find him on the sounder but there was plenty of baitfish on the sounder which is my second thing to look out for. If i see neither i move on.

There are probably techniques that get a better circle but few that will keep you dry like the ryan moody way.
Thank's Mate for heads up good luck, waiting for your next venture.
Cheers Chris
Thanks for showing the bait.....its the one of the two things i am working on ...bait and weight (ie sinker size)...covered both

Cheers mate nice fish is he one of the best you have caught at the Port?
Do you find the jew hit the mullet more so than the threadies?
Cheers Chris

Great vid, thanks mate! Did you sound him up or just choose the spot and wait? Cheers
