Yes! The first color was the best one in my opinion. And the lamp she had before would have given it a more sophisticated touch with the brown she chose.
Yeah or the navy or because it’s a small windowless space and nobody wants their wc to feel like it’s closing in on them. I’d have gone with the light grey green blue from some of the stones in the cement floor. But either way any shade of brown does not belong on your toilet walls 😬
I'm not a fan of the color, but I couldn't help noticing how gorgeous YOU looked when surrounded by the color! It made your hair, skin, and eyes just glow!
I was actually thinking about that one time... a drunk friend projectile vomited in my bathroom. I would hate to have to clean that up with brown walls. Hopefully she has less adventurous friends.
I commented the same thing! It's going to fall off every time you try to pull off the paper. It's going to be hell if you're wearing a dress and holding it up with one hand and the roll falls on the floor.

okay i’ve read through the comments and i actually really love the color she picked 😭. it’s so earthy and warm, it reminds me of terracotta. and i feel like that really compliments the sage/ green earthy vibes in the rest of the bathroom. love it kelsey!!!!! ❤️
In general, I like browns and tend to eyeroll when people think browns are all about poo, forgetting about such beautiful brown associations like chocolate, clay, soil, coffee. However, in this case context really matters.
Imagine plugging someones toilet up and while you're frantically looking around for a plunger you just see an ominous perfect little square cut into the wall
I feel like the dark brown color made the room look even more small. Too heavy for the room. I feel like the Navy color you mentioned would’ve given it more contrast and should’ve left the cabinet white instead. Also a mirror above the toilet would’ve opened up the space a little better. When she said “so the final photos of this place don’t look like poop” all I could think of the wall color.. 😂 you really do have a way of pulling it all together, I love the finishing touches and how everything turned out
The scene where she sits on the toilet and talks about the wall colour is a VIBE. All the colours in the space fit perfectly together. The floor, her hair, her top and her pants fit the wall colour... its just ✨magical✨ (of course after decorating too 👌)
I think when you add some greenery, a nice air plant maybe, it would pull together that earthy feel. I noticed that's the vibe you have throughout your house already 🙂 I like it
This is the first time I have questioned a design choice of yours haha. I love all the care and attention you give to even the smallest of places...however I think the brown color is def a rough choice in my opinion. I def would have gone with a more subtle spa/calming color that didnt cut the room in half so abruptly.
Fiery poop brown comes to mind. Reddish + Brown fits in a space that’s all about using the toilet. A ‘get in and get out’ type of vibe. It’s an intense (lively) color. So not boring. I’m just happy that you’re happy with it.
I think it looks so good! Though I feel like the reddish brown color needed some texture or pattern. It feels like it would be a very comfortable place though! Great job Kelsey 💕

I really loved the last wallpaper pattern you showed, and thought it would have been so cute. I don’t think I would personally choose a dark color in such a small room, but it’s your bathroom. I kind of liked the white wall as well. Could have just added a few accessories to spice it up.
I’m always impressed at how confidently you do electrical wiring yourself to post publicly for your insurer to easily see 😂😂 the goal is to get that confident with wiring myself 🙋🏾♀️

Your design choices are not mine generally, but I love, love how you make things happen with boss skills you have. You Go Girl!!
I love everything but yeah, “butt” er nut brown was not the color. I would like it so much more with the lighter color dusty ranch brown for such a small, basement space...
Kelseys indecisiveness reminds me so much of myself. @@merlegodeke7104 Spray painting hinges isn't ideal since they move so much and hinges are pretty cheap. But it's totally worthwhile for things that don't go through so much wear and tear!
I personally love the color. It's earthy toned so it matches into the overall vibe of your house, and compliments the colors of the concrete floor. Your styling definitely pulled it all together! 10/10!
My biggest pet peeve with painting is when people paint everything (trim, outlet covers, shelves, etc) the same colour. it looks so tacky and bland. do love that colour, but not for that space. maybe it looks better in person but on camera it doesn't match the floor at all
Yeah, I can't imagine having to stare at myself peeing. Most of us girls might not think anything of a mirror behind the toilet, but sounds like a terrible experience for anyone who has to face that wall to pee. Good call to skip the mirror.
The before looks much more fitting with the rest of the downstairs. I feel that brown makes the bathroom look very dated. Even all black or all gold would have felt more current and cohesive with the other part of the bathroom

Hi, I really respect how openly you let us all in on the hesitations, decisions, changes and other minutia involved in all home projects. I do tend to agree that it’s diarrhea brown, but your gold touches really make it work! I think what could help is adding a bit more gold to break it up... maybe cutting out the inside of the cabinet doors and adding gold painted caning/bamboo, or stenciling a gold mandala on the doors, and adding a few other gold touches like maybe a line in the vase? Putting up a few of the gold door pulls on the wall as hangers... or some gold painted detailing (for example, some branches/leaves like in the wallpaper) to break up the big “brown” spaces. Hope this helps and congrats on a great project!

Is it just me that thinks it’s weird that she painted her “poop room” brown 🤣
yea , looks like poop all over the walls to me :D
@@sandragodoit9303 I think we all kinda agree we all would have been fine if she painted it green!! 🤣🤣🤣 omg we love you Kelsey
I love it!! I think it's super humourous, totally something I would do intentionally!!
Can't wait for the do over episode of this bathroom, said in the most constructive and kindest way possible.
yes!!! I was thinking the same thing
Fiery poop brown comes to mind. Reddish + Brown fits in a space that’s all about using the toilet. A ‘get in and get out’ type of vibe. It’s an intense (lively) color. So not boring. I’m just happy that you’re happy with it.
This video was basically Kelsey making a room that would fit into Becky's house 😂
sooooo truueeeee
I was just thinking she should have used the terracotta color becky used in her place. Instead of that brown shade
Yep
The whole comment section has concluded that it is, in fact, poo brown.
sorry Kelsy, not in love with the color you picked for the "poop" room, cuz that's what it looks like, poop. Maybe wall paper will help.
The hilariousness of being asked to poop in a poop colored room lol, is perfection.
I'm so sorry, Kelsey.. should have gone grey lol.
Sorry hate the brown it was much nicer before you started the makeover...but each to their own 😉
Same here. I think the greenish gray was sooo much better
I'd have opted for a moody, deep blue/green ;-)
A nice, deep charcoal, like Benjamin Moore Kendall Charcoal would have been my choice.
Me laughing and stressing at the idea that a guest needing a plunger would probably freak out looking for one.
Kelsey’s making home series is legit chaos, she is keeping it reeeaaaalll!
I think it looks so good! Though I feel like the reddish brown color needed some texture or pattern. It feels like it would be a very comfortable place though! Great job Kelsey 💕
hi, we can provide you sample of 48FT RGB string light, perfect decoration for outside patio or backyard lighting...please contact us if you need it, thank you
The whole time you were talking about paint I was like “she should just do wallpaper!” Then 9:30 hit 😂
same!!
And I love how she still question it by the end of the video XD Totally me!
I really loved the last wallpaper pattern you showed, and thought it would have been so cute. I don’t think I would personally choose a dark color in such a small room, but it’s your bathroom. I kind of liked the white wall as well. Could have just added a few accessories to spice it up.
It definitely needs wallpaper now. Lol A dark blue with a print would look fantastic on the upper half. And also distract from the...poo brown. lol
@Brèagha I'd have personally painted it all black or navy with wallpaper up the back and the ceiling 😂
I thought you said “no silver in this house” 😭 the hinges! The hinges!
ah yes, the satisfication.. definitely sounds better than satisfaction! haha xxx
Thank goodness others caught it! But we still love you, Kelsey!!
I’m always impressed at how confidently you do electrical wiring yourself to post publicly for your insurer to easily see 😂😂 the goal is to get that confident with wiring myself 🙋🏾♀️
I love the color if you love. I don't have to live with it. I appreciate how you explained its relationship to the flooring. The white was great for me. I am more amazed at your excellent plumbing, electrical, building and painting skills. That's why I watch you ladies.
Like I will literally stand in stores and stare at things for so long to the point where I get embarrassed at the thought of anyone seeing me on the cameras. Sometimes its literally just like what all purpose cleaner I should buy or what kind of trash bags but I can't help it
Same dude!!

I’m brown skin, and I love the color brown, the earth, clay and everything natural! EXCEPT the color of poop in the entire bathroom 😭 but glad you love it!
I've watched so many of your videos and have always wanted to tell you how adorable you are! You always interject so much fun and creativity into your videos! And I love to watch your process.
30:21 I'm laughing so hard cause that dry brush brown literally looks like you spreaded some ✨ chocolate ✨ in that toilet room
Should do It for my kids bathroom constantly having to clean and sanitize the walls.
I love how Kelsey was irritated by the toilet knob not being the right color but didn't notice the hinges on the doors being silver 😅
omg yess I tought this to hahaha I should spraypainted too!!!!
@@merlegodeke7104 what do you mean?
@@merlegodeke7104 Spray painting hinges isn't ideal since they move so much and hinges are pretty cheap. But it's totally worthwhile for things that don't go through so much wear and tear!
And the garbage can foot pedal. 😁
And the hardware of the toiletseat
I personally love the color. It's earthy toned so it matches into the overall vibe of your house, and compliments the colors of the concrete floor. Your styling definitely pulled it all together! 10/10!
My biggest pet peeve with painting is when people paint everything (trim, outlet covers, shelves, etc) the same colour. it looks so tacky and bland. do love that colour, but not for that space. maybe it looks better in person but on camera it doesn't match the floor at all
It’s meant to be monochromatic. I like it!
I mean not in this situation but.....
Strong agree...keeping the cabinet wood looking might have helped it feel less pooey too
NOOO THE TINTED MIRROR WOULD OF LOOKED ABSOLUTELY STUNNING !!!
yes, like a rose gold tint - with that colour, it would've been SO good!
Put then the guests 'who stand and pee' would have to stare at themselves.
Yeah, I can't imagine having to stare at myself peeing. Most of us girls might not think anything of a mirror behind the toilet, but sounds like a terrible experience for anyone who has to face that wall to pee. Good call to skip the mirror.
The blue graysh tone would look beautiful! And it would contrast beautifully with the floor😊
The before looks much more fitting with the rest of the downstairs. I feel that brown makes the bathroom look very dated. Even all black or all gold would have felt more current and cohesive with the other part of the bathroom
Yeah, like a bathroom you would find in a very old house with super busy prints on the couch hahah Love the decor details tho, pretty cute
Yes! The bathroom looks like a weird blast from the 70’s which could really work in some homes but isn’t quite the vibe of everything else we’ve seen.
@@Gwenreadshorror yes, really sad given the length of the video and the sheer amount of deliberation - I had to watch on 2x speed because the back and forth and tiny decisions requiring trips to home Depot were mind numbing.
It literally looks like the bathroom at my apartment that hasn't been updated in 40 years and is the same exact brown 🤢 its awful
@@daniellegonsalves3745 I think she was trying to work with the terrazzo floor but for all the Home Depot etc trips she could have had any floor she wanted! Plus, just about ANY other colour would have worked
Hope this helps and congrats on a great project!
bold choise to paint your toilet room brown 👀
