Hello there, I have just found your video. I adore the bird themes on your clay plates. I have to say Cardinals are my second favourite bird, the first being the male beautiful Kingfisher. I wish I had a computer & printer so I could print some of the birds out but Unfortunetly I cannot afford such luxuries. I love what you have made. I am working with Air dry clay at the moment but get confused as to which varnish to use on finished projects 🤣.
Hi, Thank you for watching. I love the kingfisher as well. We have one that fishes from the tree behind our house. I generally determine what sealant to use based on how the end product will be used. If it’s going to be in a moist area I definitely want to pick a sealant that will protect it. If it’s going to be handled a lot, I take that into consideration as well. I generally use a clear acrylic spray.
Good morning Pam, the bowls turned out beautiful. I will definitely try this too, but I have a question: "I often get air bubbles in my clay, why is this and how can I prevent this?" thanks for sharing this video. Love from the Netherlands 🖌️🎨🖍️💜
Hi, Thanks for your question. Here’s a bit of advice: Knead the clay well before starting your project. This helps to expel air trapped within the clay. Fold and press the clay repeatedly until it feels smooth and consistent. I hope this helps.
@@jennyhilder217 hi, I haven’t used PVA glue myself as a sealant. I did a quick search online and I read that you can use it as a sealant if you dilute it with water. If you want a more durable finish, then you may want to use a sealant that’s typically used for decoupage projects like mod podge, or some other type of varnish.
Beautiful, really nice. 👏👏👍🏼👍🏼🥰
Very nice projects thank you. Love the bird theme.
They came out beautiful. Excellent tutorial.
Thanks so much!

If you’ll use plastic wrap or bag you’ll have an easier time smoothing the wrinkles out of your paper.
And you’ll reduce your chances of tearing the paper.
Enjoyed watching your projects!
@@cynthiapatrick5587 Thanks for the tip. I think you’re right.😁
Can you share which exact sealant please?
Since these don’t need to be heat resistant, I used mod podge gloss sealant spray.
