i've been enjoying using paper clay for a few years now with no instruction. you've been fantastic in showing me techniques to solve all the issues i've had! i look forward to looking into your products
BRAVO my Deary! You addressed a myriad of issues that I've experienced as I use clay, resin & even caulk for dimensional pieces that don't include paper. It was well presented and tho our products are different as our 'Ponds' are different 😜 I understand, enjoyed this thoroughly!! ❤ Thank You!
Really loved this info. Now, after you get clay out of mold and have glued it to, let’s say an ornament, how long do you have to wait to paint it. Will the clay shrink ? How long before you varnish it?
So helpful. You answered all my questions. Thank you for such a clear and concise video and although my moulds are different the principles are the same and are useful.
Bought some air dry clay last year but still haven't used it! This video will help with ideas and questions that i have. Clear instructions. Will share this site with my great-niece who loves to do clay modeling.
Heather, your very lovely and calming demeanor kept me glued until the very end. You were very thorough and covered all my questions about air dry clay. Thank you for your very clear instruction. I do have one question - will all your tips and molds work with the Crayola brand air dry clay?
Does anyone know if Hearty Clay can be glued to a "treated" white painting canvas made for watercolor or acrylic paint? The canvas has been stapled to a wood frame. It is sold at the local craft store here. And if it can, what would I use to attach the clay to the canvas? Thank you!!!
Yes, you should be able to stick hearty clay to a painted surface. Heather has done so in the past. Any PVA based glue, or thick/heavy acrylic medium will work to adhere the clay.
Will somebody please tell me what product she said at 43:26, right as the red bow appeared? The audio quality dropped off and cannot make out what she said. Thank you!!!
I personally prefer to use acrylic sealant (bought in hardware shop for windos etc) - not silicone sealant, which is flexible, not breaking, not shrinking, paintable with all paints, and is cheap
When the clay is dry all of the detailed areas of the moulded piece will be set in place and detail won't be lost when handled or painted. Thin pieces may take only 1 hour to dry but this will vary based on thickness.
Around the 37 min area talking about glue, what does she mean about thin, thick, and gel glues? Are these three different products that you buy? Can she give any examples of brands to use? Air Dry Clay is brand new to me. Thank you!
Hi, some lower price PVA glues will be thinner so not as strong. You should look for a PVA made for crafts. Something like this Anita's Tacky Glue would work for most situations katysuedesigns.com/products/anitas-tacky-glue-60ml
The constant references to your own products is, unfortunately, slightly annoying. Obviously, make everyone aware that these products are available, but there is no need to constantly refer to them ALL the way through the video. Thank you.
White fat...wth is that..grease? Why powder on one and grease on the other? Would Vaseline be just as good as lip balm? Never seen so much lip balm in one place as u have...
It's white vegetable fat like the brand Trex sells. It helps release clay from moulds that are extra detailed. However, most of the moulds will be fine with cornflour.

How do you seal your pieces and doesnt the greasy lip bam or oi affect the piece when you want to paint it?.
Such great tips, thank you! The gilding waxes...which brand are you using please?
I think this was a brand called Gedeo but any gilding wax should work great.

Could I use Vaseline instead of lip balm?
That should work fine, just don't use too much. You want to leave as little residue on the clay as possible.
Traducir al español!!!!!
I think I would just paint after clay is dry....and not be bothered with changing color of clay before it is dry.

U need a airsealer machine.
