I’m really liking this fan !! What a cool concept 👍 My Old eyes can’t see that fitting very well, is there I very thin nut on the threads? If those old bills could talk……geeezzzz what an awesome find ! The Spider was the golden touch 👏 I see a number of hours going into this one…….I bet it’s going to be amazing 🦅🇺🇸
@@Living-The-Dream Yes Sir. It’s a very thin nut. I can get a grip on it with the tools I have. I’ve taken these things off with ease in the past. This one is putting up a hell of a fight. I don’t want to ruin that plate anymore than I already have. I wonder if there’s an actual tool for that thing. What do you know about “Victory” bills? Did it have anything to do with the War?? I’m dead in the water until I get that nut off. I don’t want to mask all that crap off. I want to do it right.
@@Living-The-Dream That’s pretty cool. Hopefully I can track down the folks on the envelope. If not, everything will go back to where it was. Thanks First Sergeant.
I have a couple of these. One I took apart. Man, it seems like a million screws... I'm glad you filmed the disassembly so I can see how to put mine back together. LOL
@@theantiquefanatic Yeah it’s crazy. I still have about 10-15 more screws to take off. It’s cool though because they’re all the same screws. There’ll be no mixup when assembling. Hopefully I’ll have it all back together soon. How do these ones perform?? I’m hoping to use Her on the living room floor.
That's a cool old fan and the stash under the top has a story to tell. I would try a pair of duckbill pliers on the nut to remove it. Can't wait to see it finished
@@ivanstiles7030 duckbill??? Dang it, now I have to research what those are then find some. Hahaha. I tried 4 different pliers but there’s not enough meat on that darn nut to get a grip. That’s the only thing holding me back now. I need to get it off so I can start prepping for paint. I’ll keep at it but I don’t want to ruin that on/off plate anymore. I put some nice scratches on it already. I would love to find out who that envelope belongs to but I’m not going to be in the Philippines anytime soon. Hahaha. What a trip huh???
That's a neat little piece there, I like these old Hassock fans. As for the nut on the switch removal, I just use a pair of pliers which works well enough. Can't wait to see the outcome of this one. By the way I would like to see a restoration of a 4 blade Wizard box fan like I have , I've reached out in the fan groups and could never find a video of this fan on TH-cam.
@@stevethefanman8955 Yeah… this one is cool. I’ve never seen one where the fan is movable. I have 4 now and they all just point up. I can’t wait to see if I can get this filthy Ol Gal working again. The only box fan I’ve ever done was that old Kenmore. I’ll keep my eyes open for an old wizard. Box fans don’t pop up around here at all. I love those things. So powerful and quiet.
