David Cage and Quantum Dreams once again brings an immersive and ambitious project to the table in Detroit Become Human. What if Androids one day began to feel? How would that impact our lives and theirs? What would the growing relationships between Androids and their owners look like? Society would shift dramatically. The Detroit Become Human gameplay may feel more like a movie at time, but the environments and visuals are crisp and full of detail. We follow the "lives" of 3 Androids: Markus, Kara, and Connor as the game progresses, learning more about their reasoning. Become Human is full of voice actors that you'll recognize from...somewhere and the amount of dialogue in this game is insane. The choices you make affects who lives or dies in this evolving narrative. Choose wisely or turn off and try again.

Bryan Dechart played so good as Connor. He really knows to portray a robot who has human traits, but without emotion.
In many games and movies or drama, machines usually display as threat to humans. Connor storyline convinced me that Android are more than a machine and are a new type of high intelligence being.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to vote for Detroit: Become Human!
Troy Orr it's a relatively simple one to complete. No real "grind" for achievements like getting so many kills with a specific weapon in a shooter. Makes it not as much of a pain as it could be.
Sure, there isn't much of a grind to speak of (unless you count replaying the same scenes over again to pick up missed magazines or achievements), but it can be time consuming to get the platinum trophy. This is especially true if you're not willing/don't have the time to play until the end multiple times in one sitting.
Regardless, I was just expressing my disbelief of the Completionist making a video on this subject matter. I was under the impression that the achievements would be difficult to obtain due to the amount of branching paths in the story.

It does make you wonder if Connor could be the game's version of a "Blade Runner" but playing off of the ending shown in the Director's Cut that hinted at Deckard maybe being a Replicant himself.
The game also has a sly reference to that book in one of the news broadcasts.

One of the best games I've played in the past 10 years. As a completionist I didn't find it a chore going back through the game for different outcomes. I love Connor.

I personally played the game through the whole night with my best friend and while it has its flaws we had such a great time... I remember a fightscene at the end of the game, my friend was playing and she was so tense .... it was great

It was so far from subtle I used my knowledge of the Civil Rights movement to make my choices for Markus and got a good ending with him 😂. That being said I still enjoyed the game, glad it's free for Playstation Plus
David Cage is about as insightful and subtle as a brick. This is nothing new. Honestly this game is terrible from an allegorical standpoint, and tries to be a compelling narrative, but it's so utterly skin-deep and surface level that it fails at that. I pity the characters, having to live in such a terrible narrative. How do we have such gems of characters like Connor in such a crappily written world?
Jesus christ, what do you want? Want more deep, clawing narrative are you asking for? We get it, it's not the most original or subtle narrative-- Why and how does that make the world or writing bad? Original does not equate to Good, telling a interesting story with characters and moments that engage you are better signifiers-- and imo this story Does that. It's not perfect, and of course other narratives have done it, but the effort and meticulous crafting of this world I feel is being unfairly judged by people who feel their narrative hunger will only be sated by allegorical gold unheard of and untouched by any other human beings throughout time to be worth their while.
Just enjoy the damn game, enjoy it's plot and maybe try to be less unrelenting on the scrutiny against this to your narrative and historical genius of incomparable stature.

Detroit is such a unique game, and I honestly don't think there will be anything like it again. While the story beats and writing are cliche at times the way it merged the movie and video game worlds into one while still asking deep questions is something so special.

Just finished watching Jesse's playthrough of the game, and hot damn does it seem nice. Rarely have I been that invested in a game that I held back on watching your Completionist episode on it to see a playthrough to the end to not get spoiled. Had I owned a PS4, this would have been a given buy.

I like Hank and Connor's storyline the most, if only because the whole route of optimism won't make him any friendlier to you, like you'd expect it to. You have to show him cynicism and get on his level to make him respect you (and the after-credits scene, which I won't spoil, is worth it). c; Hank feels human, and Connor feels like he's growing because of it.
Just going to say that Nier Automata does all the thought provoking and actually being a game. Nier and Nier Automata needs to be on this show.

Yea that game had me being more of a broken man than the original Nier. Automata had all emotions and shown correctly, with Detroit and other Cage titles, I am laughing for the wrong reasons for a majority of the time.

What I found really interesting is when Conner bonds with Hank but dies due to QTE death scenarios, you end up watching Hank going into a downward spiral opposite to his cliche.

I love single-player campaigns. For the people who say that single-player is dead and that every game will be online multiplayer games like Call of Duty, I point to this and the other single-player games coming down the pike and say, "Hey, we're too busy having fun with all this!"

Easily my favorite Completionist video. Not biased at all.
I disagree with the stuff about “lacking feel” and “it’s not realistic” Honestly nobody in real life goes through 70 emotions and conveys them masterfully on the daily. Maybe if you were giving a speech but I feel like when games try too hard to feel real it ends up feeling less real.
So when it’s in between great acting and shitty acting it feels real. Cause it feels like something I would say. I don’t go to a restaurant and say “May I trouble you for a sandwich?” I just say “Hey I’ll have a sandwich.”
You don’t need to have a grade A acting to be realistic in a video game. Just my opinion

SUPERHOT VR. Its got a good amount of things to complete, they are fairly hard challenges, and it will be cool and entertaining to see you try your hand at a physical game.

Detroit was a great surprise. I enjoyed Heavy Rain in a "bad movie night" kind of way. I was hoping for more of that, but found myself *really* liking this one.
