  • I thought id give you an update on my custom Tamiya Grand Hauler Rc Truck build as its progressing nicely and is starting to look more like a stertched custom Kenworth W900 semi truck which was in fact the original look I wanted but without the stertched chassis.
    In this i thought id show you some custom sleeper extention side skirt thingies im on with making for a more unique looking sleeper and all I used was the original roof cap of the sleeper which i cut off to swap for the kenworth aero bunk so this has cost me nothing and if your customising your own truck and have also swapped out the roof then dont throw it and you can make your own, also a few other parts have arrived, its just a case of saving up for the airbrush paints now
    Anyway all is explained, so sit back with a cuppa and enjoy

      I doubt this will be ready for nationals but I'm In no rush to finish it for it or I'll probably end up messing it up lol..
      My Scania should have arrived by then which I'm giving to Leyarna so that may possibly be ready, it's only getting basic kit build and Pearl paint bro 👍👍

    I am really enjoying watching you create!! I like your method of applying Putty... much better than mine, me finger!! 😖

      @scotty555babe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll apply that that way a few times then once smooth I'll do it again and wet sand to be double sure, I tend to use my fingers on household jobs, just slap it on and hope for the best 🤣🤣

      Trust me, especially with Tamiya Putty, spreading with my finger is NOT the best way!! 🙄😜
      REALLY hard to get off your fingers as well.

    You ever tried “Perfect Plastic Putty”? It works awesome and you can cleanup with water/q-tip or cloth. Doesn’t shrink. Mr. hobby surfacer would be good too for pinholes. Looking good! Glad you decided to do more heavy haulers. You did the first tri-axle on TH-cam that was remotely close to a helpful video.

      I've not tried the "perfect plastic putty" I do have vallejos range of putties so I may try one of those, I only ever really use it for the small stuff 😊 I usually give a quick light dust with black surface prime then once it's sanded off, if there is any marks or pinholes etc the black doesn't get sanded out makiit easier to spot 😊
      I'll be doing another triaxle soon, possibly another grand hauler 👍👍

    Well Scotty how was it when you first cut your first model. Because I'm getting close to my turn to do an operation. I don't mind watching you I won't have to pay for it anything. So keep going cause the gratification comes in the end good luck 555.

      🤣🤣 I'll be honest, it was nerve wracking, I was so scared of f****ng it up as you only really get one chance to get it right, however to make it a bit easier, depending on where you are making your cut you may have body lines grooved out to work with, if not, if you can clamp a steel ruler in place and slowly scribe/score the plastic till you can comfortably use that line for a razor saw and just take your time letting the saw do the work..
      I got faith in you man 👍

    Try mixing some glue into your humbrol filler it will soften it down and make it easier to spread in the nooks and crannies.

      Great idea thanks, will probably give me a little more time to mess with it and save using as much 👍👍

      @@scotty555babe Yeah you'll find it thins it down and fills better, so less sanding and wastage
