It's a very different feel than kings field, more on the horror side of the spectrum and very different RPG mechanics. I think it holds up great even without nostalgia

I play this with the PSX filter, sucks that it makes the fonts difficult to read, and at just 30fps, sacrilege for today’s standards I know. I really want to feel like I’m playing a PS1 era game.
Your 2nd video popped up before this one so l commented there first. I was wondering why you were so far along in it lol. I didn't notice the difficulty slider. Maybe a 1.0 thing. I was getting rocked in even the early levels pre 1.0. The snails/bugs in the Hollow Basin could shoot sheat at me. EDIT - up to that first alter/ring in the temple no enemies. They were all over me to that point. Seems I need to start a new game.
The dev and chat were a bit too much backseat gaming in my opinion. I see Lobos was ok with it, but as a viewer it was pretty boring that every "puzzle" was basically instantly solved by it. Some weren't even puzzles. Lobos dropping down into a "secret" area right after saving and the dev immediately told him that there is a strong enemy here that could kill him... It felt like a guided sightseeing tour sometimes. Still much love to Lobos!
I wish the quality on the VOD's would be better... I was waiting for so long for Lobos to play this game - but it's so mushy that it's hard to watch :(
It was weird seeing people complain about the anime girls. They look like they fit the game just fine. The way reviews painted them made me think there was some kind of style clash. Really silly people.
I think the game gives off surreal enough vibes that they absolutely do fit in despite art wise being out of place. The mildly out of place is what fits the game best.
Ironic hearing this coming from someone with an anime pfp lol and it is a style clash cause it just makes the game look like it was made by some deviantart user even the character avatars are terrible
I don’t like the aesthetic personally and it’s a bit of an odd clash but it honestly does give the game a unique charm instead of larping pure from soft dark fantasy only.
Such a shame a bunch of the negative reviews are to deal with pronouns, doesn't effect the game play at all it's literally there for qol so people don't feel left out.
The real problem people are too dumb to realize is that the dev only added them to spite people so would the dev had added them otherwise without an edgelord reason? probably not showing that pronouns are just a political tool to divide people and lump people into categories which btw thats not how you achieve unity lol you're going far backwards. Most people are too unintelligent to see the bigger picture here
On one hand, it's definitely weird to focus a review on it. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to actually do anything, meaning it only exists for virtue-signaling in the first place. Or to get more attention on the game by causing exactly this kind of controversy. Personally, since they don't seem to even be used, I interpret it as either bare minimum effort for appeal or a direct choice by the Dev to disallow any ''other'' pronouns; might as well go all the way to having text input for it.

Ancient city is the best 👌. Just get a ps2 emulator and a rom. The game is sloooow as hell but the atmosphere is unreal.
