I have the original. Seeing that the new one isn't louder not sure inwill upgrade. I can tell the newer one has more bass but i don't think that is enough to tempt me.
Yeah. Soundcore definitely should be checking and looking at these speaker review videos on TH-cam so they can get suggestions for their next portable speakers. I don’t really feel like soundcore listens to their customers. I own a motion 300 and it has too much distortion for me. But I’ve contacted soundcore and told them about the distortion and even did an audio recording test and they still act like the speaker doesn’t have distortion. Maybe soundcore will do sound updates in the near future for the motion 300 and the boom 2 plus in the near future (hopefully)
The biggest difference IMO is that the new one has better looks. Soundwise the original sounds more open and balanced (probably also due to the grill placement), the new one sounds more boxy and boomy like the Tribit Blast. For the price and if you like more bass heavy sound, compared to the Boom 2 Plus, I think the JBL Encore Essential may be better sounding (price is 200 or below).
The JBL Partybox Encore is a really great speaker and some people got it for $149 at Wal-Mart back at the end of last year, beginning of this year. That was a steal of a deal.
You know you can get the old one in camo now for that hardcore tactical look just don’t put it down in the back garden “yard” you may never find it again.
I just got the soundcore Boom 2 bout 2 weeks ago and love it for the size and price. I do feel it's it quite powerful for the size. Would u say that this one is worth the upgrade? Does it blow away the boom2 or is it close?
good review. Bought one myself to try as I have a Motion Boom Plus and Boom 2 already. Boom 2 I use as all around the house for its small size. Motion Boom Plus is a party speaker and I thought I'd try the new one to see if I need to sell the old. I agree with your thoughts on it and I too believe its an upgrade but small so not really needed but I'm going to keep giving it a try to see if I keep it.
Jay, if you could make a video comparing two Boom 2's paired in tws versus one Boom 2 Plus, that would be awesome. My guess is for the same amount of money the two boom 2's would prevail for the advantage of having massive stereo separation and immersiveness. By the way, is it true that with the Boom 2 and Boom 2 Plus, you're able to turn them ON as well as off in the app?
The new one has a little more bass and watts but the older one has a wider sound stage so I’d say the new one for house/hiphop/r&b and the older one for rock/metal/blues especially live/concert music I’ve gone for the older one I does love me a power ballad oh and it’s £80 quid cheaper “bucks” (google translate). Tronsmart bang still the best looking though.
I'm just not impressed with the Boom 2 Plus at the price point they are asking. Some of the cheaper speakers youve tested sound as good or maybe better, such as DBSoars.
I think there are some really nice speakers in the $125-$175 range right now. The Motion Boom Plus in this video being one @$140. The Tribit Stormbox Blast is currently $160. W-King T11 is currently $166. Still yet, this Boom 2 Plus is a really nice speaker for sure. I do wish it was $199.99, but I would bet once the buzz wears off that in the not so distant future, Soundcore will be running a $50 coupon on this on amazon.com to make it that $199.99 price. 😉 They have been running a $50 coupon on the $199.99 Motion X600 most of the time for several months now.
Yeah, that's my take on it. I certainly think the new Boom 2 Plus is the better of the two overall and more capable, but by a smaller margin than maybe the current pricing would reflect.
Motion Boom 2 plus on the right is the killer! Only at max volume does the Boom 2 plus on the left sounds a little bigger and less strained at max volume. Still. The Motion Boom 2 plus on the right wins overall and is louder, and it’s more compact to place and carry.
Soundcore should have just used 2 racetrack woofers from boom 2 to save on cost and sold it cheaper. It looks cool but its to overpriced for the amount of upgrade over the motion boom plus
Why don't they use the Bluetooth codec APT X HD or better yet LDAC or LOSSLESS Bluetooth? They are using SBC which is the worst to use only 320kbp/s witch is a VERRY LOSSY. So, this speaker wont sound any better than a MP3 at 320kbp/s. All you're ever going to get out of this is MP3 quality which is GARBAGE. Don't expect anywhere near CD quality sound from this it's IMPOSSIBLE with verry lossy compression that this unit does on the Bluetooth signal path.
It's embarrassing for the new one because it's not even close to the soundcore motion boom plus useless the price It's more expensive than the soundcore motion boom plus , soundcore motion boom plus way way Louder than this new one .
I have been playing them alongside each other along with my Tribit Stormbox Blast, in terms of outright volume in midrange to low treble, the Motion Boom Plus does outshout the Boom 2 plus and The Stormbox Blast, however it the bass department and overall, the Boom 2 plus gives a noticably more substantial sound and neither the Boom plus, nor the Blast come near it for deep bass.
For owning both, about everything in your comment is wrong. Mids and treble are far better on the Boom 2 Plus. And it’s definitely far louder too. The only issue on Boom 2 Plus is the lack of deep bass, in default mode, there’s no improvements over Motion Boom Plus. But once EQed, bass is better on the Boom 2 Plus as well. The only advantage of Motion Boom Plus is the fact it’s lighter, it’s the same weight as JBL Xtreme 2. Everything else, yeah, Boom 2 Plus is better. Though, Boom 2 Plus is still worse than Stormbox Blast in terms of deep bass, even EQed.
@@IFLE-ec3zy Yes, definitely, though Tribit Stormbox Blast would be an even better buy, almost the same sound as Boom 2 Plus (except slightly worse treble and a bit less volume, but considerably deeper bass) however it starts to be on the heavier side. The only advantage of Motion Boom Plus is how light it is, 2.4KGs (vs 3.7KGs for Boom 2 Plus, 5.5KGs for the Stormbox Blast)
@@ThibautMahringer ah thanks man, just wondering if you’d have an opinion on this but how would you compare the performance of the Boom 2 Plus compared to JBL Xtreme 3.
someone said the x10 earbuds came free with this but was shortly removed, now it's the charger. either way, im passing...soundcore releases too many and not all of them are great products. esp. for their prices, in comparison to other speakers
Soundcore had a pre-release special that if you signed up for it you got your choice of a speaker or earbuds. They emailed you a code for either one after release.
I had the soundcore motion boom plus very loud and strong bass
I have it as well and it is amazing!
Not the Difference i expected... I think i dont Upgrade. Thanks for your Comparison 👍
You can connect the two threw party cast right
It'll be cool her vs Tribit. Its sound is very similar, but it has more final power.

Great speaker comparison video! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
No veo diferencias , el boom plus marca 1 o 2 decibeles mas que el nuevo boom 2 plus , cuando debería ser al revéz

You cannot turn them On from and Off state in the app.. have to be on and connected via bluetooth before the app recognizes the speakers.
Yep I'll just keep my old one. After 80% it does sound good but not $100 good.
Same Thoughts

Yeah, I never noticed anything in the ads or description about Titanium drivers.
Having no Titanium in the woofers keeps the costs down.

140 with Bass^ enabled.

Use cable and you get more or less lossless. Most people will probably stream from Spotify anyway.

I've got that one as my next vid I'll be doing for ya!
it will beat the blast but barely 🤣
Soundcore motion boom plus more louder
Vs La tribit Blast

In terms of only loudness, are these two speakers are at same level with JBL partybox 110 or 120 ..?? Please answer
no way man you need two speaker to match one partybox

No way, the Boom plus wont even match the JBL Boombox, let alone the party box
