Frank Woods was one of my favorite Black Ops character since the first. At first, I was upset of his "death" from sacrifice, but happy he went out like his personality.
Then I was ever so glad he lives up until his old age. It's awesome to see him in Cold War. True, he "dies" in a non-canon communist ending, but canon wise he is as alive as the planet Earth itself.

I absolutely LOVE the Mason and Woods interaction in the back of the van. That shit had me frozen in front of my tv screen for a good half an hour just fanboying. And to see the 2 of them in this new gen graphics is just amazing. Thank you Activision for bringing some hardcore nostalgia to a Black Ops fan

I miss the original voice actor but the new guy isn’t terrible. I love the character of frank woods and they stay true to him and he was the best part of the game in my opinion.

Its off character. I hate how people are like "oh everyone is just complaining about stupid shit with the VA's" when theyve become really watered down casualized dudebros, easy to digest for a redditor or some dumb asshole who cant understand even the slightest of nuance. Black Ops isn't fuckin Shakespeare dont get me wrong, but people clap when they toss the old VA's and get some new dudes that make them act less like soldiers that have been through hell and more like unfunny teenagers. They probably have fucking PTSD and yet they act like they're having a good ol fun time. It makes no sense.
Apart from the god awful onion scene and how they try to fuck with bell at HQ, the mannequin scene is one of the worst parts of it. It gets the basic character totally wrong. Woods wouldn't have made some quick smarmy quip, he would've probably said "what the fuck?" or been extremely careful about an ambush taking place. It feels like kiddie garbage.
Now you can like this of course, there's nothing wrong in it per se, apart from how I feel about that kind of humor/characters. But it's a different thing when you have established characters do it against their personalities. Get new characters, dont involve Woods and Mason in it. Hell maybe use Weaver. Remember that guy? He didn't get explored much and he was more in line about doing quips and being a snarky asshole. The only one mildly on tone is Hudson, and even then he acts like a weirdo.

Even though It's a shame that the og voice actors didn't or weren't able to return, I will say that the Woods and Hudson Voice actors did try really good and it almost convinces you that it's actually them at times. Unfortunately I can't say the same for Mason.

James Burns actually wanted to continue doing woods from what I understand. It was Treyarch/Activision or whatever that didn't let him.

@@MrJoshsupra it’s the opposite for me, I think the new Hudson voice actor did a really good job making Hudson’s voice deep and intimidating again it was just that they made him unlikeable, and for the new ‘Woods’, it was just terrible. It sounded so forced and unnatural, like as if he had a sore throat.
