Tiffany D Jackson is recent favorite author of mine. She truly knows how to write twists in her books. I just finished Allegedly this week. It was crazy for sure. My favorite book so far is The Weight of Blood but Monday's Not Coming is a very close setting. Grown, White Smoke, and Blackout are next reads by her.
Tiffany D Jackson wrote grown as a cautionary tale and said it was based off her own experiences. I appreciate how it was written . I enjoyed white smoke and the weight of blood. Mondays not coming and allegedly are top tier books.
Thank you for this video. Grown was my first book by Tiffany D. Jackson and I dnf’d it. I took the author off my list. I had not heard of Allegedly, but after your review I will add it to my TBR list I HATED the little I read of Grown.
Please don't hold that book against her. I think that was her strike while the iron was hot book in my opinion she was trying to get it out before the RK documentary finished because of the conversation she wanted to have. But it def could've used another draft or two.
New subscriber... funny note: Tiffany, Jason, and Elizabeth are friends/know each other so keep speaking it and maybe it will happen! Also, I recommend Let Me Hear a Rhyme because it is my FAVORITE of hers and I read it in one night the minute she released it, and I have White Smoke on my TBR for next year (I have all of her books but am also biased because I know her...little tiny brag I'm in the acknowledgments of Allegedly lol)
So I have had all 3 of these books in my Amazon cart for a few months now, & you officially convinced me to get "Monday's Not Coming" & "Allegedly" first. I appreciate videos like this, so thank you & I look forward to more Author Taste Test from you! 💜 Also thanks approving my Goodreads friend request from a book community newbie. 🤓😉
omg Please come back and let me know how you liked those books. if you want (no pressure) follow me on ig (kaylasbookishvibes)and we can dm as you are reading them 🤗 i loved them both and wish i could have talked through them with someone as i was reading them 🤣
@@KaylasBookishVibes Ofc! And I appreciate you saying no pressure lol, but I don't have any social media other than Facebook rn. If you have any other ways for us to talk as I read them though, I'm open to it. 😬🤓
@@KaylasBookishVibes For the most part, I simultaneously read and listen to audiobooks. Only time I don’t pair audio and reading is when there isn’t an audiobook. Amazing narration for all three novels. But had I only read Grown it would’ve taken me longer to finish. The narrator on Grown did an excellent job to the point, once I returned my borrowed copy to the library, I used a LibroFM credit to have a personal copy of the audiobook. Whenever you decide to reread Allegedly without the audiobook, interested in knowing if your rating changes. 💞🙏🏾 thank you for blessing us all with your channel
I have not read Tiffany D Jackson, although I have been interested in her books for a little while. And after watching your vlog, I am certainly going to read her, hopefully sooner rather than later.
So I have read two books by Tiffany ! I read the weight of blood and grown! The weight of blood was so so so good . I enjoyed grown but not as much !!!! I can’t wait to read more from here !!!! People keep telling me about Mondays not coming!
Very cool video idea. Omg I can’t believe you braided your own hair. I wish! It’s beautiful. 😍 My intro to Tiffany D. Jackson was Grown. Can’t lie I was disgusted and upset while reading as well. However, I did appreciate what the author was trying to convey. That ending was very outlandish lol. But overall it was a good read. I also landed on a 3.5 star rating, rounded up to 4 on Good reads. So glad you cleared up the difference between Grown & The Teacher. I felt like The teacher was meant to entertain ( which is wild) whereas Grown was a great teaching moment for her target audience. I plan to read Monday’s not coming in April or May. But now you have me interested in Allegedly. I love what you said about her writing with experience as opposed to an outsider. I completely agree! I can absolutely tell you don’t play about this type of subject matter.😅 You felt a way about The Long Shot, The Teacher and this book. As a women & mother, I definitely get it.
I definitely think you will enjoy Allegedly. It was the perfect psychological thriller. The ending for Grown had me side eyeing Tiffany 👀 like okay girl. Ima keep reading, but okay. I think being a mother has definitely made me sensitive to certain subject matters in books. 😓 But the grooming subject picks at me so much because I have younger sisters and all I could think was I would have been the daddy in that lobby 🥊. I was so thankful Tiffany made it a teaching moment though. Thank you for watching and interacting with my content. I love watching your videos so this low key shocked me 🤭
Girllll you’re adjusting my TBR for this month because now I need to get Allegedly! 😂 Monday’s Not Coming is probably my favorite YA book that I’ve read so far but now I’m curious if I’ll like Allegedly more 👀
Loved this vid! Love TDJ. She’s in my top 5 authors. Fav to least fav of her books 1. Monday’s not coming 2. Let me hear a rhyme 3. Allegedly 4. Grown. I agree w/ your thoughts on Grown. TDJ typically does ripped from the headline stories, but this one was a little too ripped from the headlines. I was hoping for a little more uniqueness with the storyline and more of a plot twist.
Great vide! Grown was my first introduction to Tiffany I actually just finished it last week. Although I do have Mondays not coming my brother got it for me for Christmas but I havnt read it yet because I keep seeing people say how heavy it is and crying and honestly I’m just trying to work up the nerves to read it.
This was such a good idea! 💛 I’ve read Mondays Not Coming, Grown, and The Weight of Blood. I agree Grown was the hardest to read and I’m so sensitive to grooming/pedophile stories. My fave so far is Monday’s Not Coming- so heartbreaking 😢. I have Allegedly on my TBR shelf and actually plan to read it in April- you made it sound so good so I’m excited now lol.
💛 Awww this is my favorite emoji right now. I literally post it in every message / comment. I didn't hear you mention The Weight Of Blood, but that is the only one I have read so far by Tiffany D Jackson, but it was a 5⭐ for me.
I think I'll skip The Teacher, I had no idea what it was about. I started Monday's Not Coming but I haven't finished. Haven't read anything else by her. Thanks for sharing your perspective. My daughter is approaching ya book range I like to see whats out there for that age group to read.
So did I!! I can’t stop thinking about that book☺️ The book mark is from “inspire the tribe” on instagram. I have a few from her and plan to order more. She has so many cool designs and she does the art herself. So talented 🤗
Your description of grown in the beginning gave me the ick of of Lolita & the author tried really hard to make the groomer likeable. I was disgusted the entire time.
Tiffany definitely used her book as a learning opportunity and for sure wasn’t trying to romanticize pedophilia. By the end I appreciated her book a bit more. My initial thoughts were absolutely “what the heck am I reading?!” but it ended up being a good book. I just looked up “Lolita” on goodreads 👀 The synopsis alone gave me serious ick. 😰
Tiffany D Jackson is my favorite!! Everything she’s written is an automatic YES for me. Allegedly and Mondays not coming will leave you in your feels 😢. I’m reading Allegedly for the 2nd time via audio. Grown isn’t really a thriller… it definitely reminds you of surviving r Kelly. 🫠. You should try her others. I’ve read all but her latest. Her latest one is on my TBR.
I will for sure reread Allegedly. I plan to reread it physically. Loved it! I need to get The Weight of Blood. It seems like everyone really likes that one just as much as Allegedly 👀

💛 …. Allegedly - 3.75 (Audiobook: 5) | Mondays Not Coming Home - 3.50 (Audiobook: 4) | Grown - 3.75 (Audiobook: 5)
the audiobook for allegedly was really good. When I re read it i plan to read it physically. I wonder if that will change my rating 🤔

Allegedly is so so good. Please try it!
alsoooo you braided your own hair?! girl it looks FANTASTIC! teach me your wayssss 😭😭
I can’t even do a French braid. Chile help! Hahaha
😂 Yes! I had to learn how to braid young. honestly box braids is probably easier to learn then french braiding. You just have to practice

ooo you like Let Me Hear a Rhyme more than Allegedly? I’ll have to move it up on my tbr. I don’t typically hear a lot about that one.
also your username is perfection 😂
@@KaylasBookishVibes after hearing your take, I may have to reread Allegedly. I read it so long ago and vaguely remember it tbh.
