@appleinsider So, I don't get the option to finger swipe for map control in my 21 F150 carplay. How can I enable that? Moving the map with the control arrows is a major pain.
Had been using My Radar since it was a fledgling, But for the past couple years I have been forced to get banner adds on it regardless it has been paid for to not have adds. Replaced MR with Dark Skies and then Apple weather bought DS and rolled it into their weather app. MR is good, but not good enough when DS can give me all the weather news I need in South Florida.
I dont like that the app isnt constantly animated in Carplay. This is why I just use the app on my phone. When Im driving through and around rain in my convertable I like to have the most up to date animated image as to where the rain is and where it is headed.

Also , not sure if you do or not and not to offend you if you have an older model iPhone but if you don’t update your iPhone to iOS 17.0 or above you won’t be able to get the my radar app. Just an fyi and that rule goes with other apps too worth noting . So Apple strong arms us into forcing updates onto us in order to get certain apps but IMHO these updates break or shortens the life of our iPhones so we have to buy another iPhone every few years. That’s how Apple stays in business. Apple doesn’t want you to keep a phone forever they won’t make money. They break our phones with updates so we are forced to buy new phones.
@@Funny_FL1 This isn't true in the slightest. A couple things about it. First, it is always on the developers to decide which versions of iOS they support. A dev can support very old versions of iOS if they so choose. The developer of MyRadar is who chose to only support iOS 17. The second thing is that there is a reason they only support iOS 17. Weather apps has not been supported in CarPlay. if you check out my video on CarPlay in iOS 17 -- I can link it if you'd like! -- I explain that weather apps are a new category with this update! So Apple didn't support weather apps until last year, which is why developers must support iOS 17. Apple can't retroactively go back and add support to iOS 12 and add a new category.

Couldn’t you just restore purchases to get the ad-free feature back? I’ve been using MyRadar for over a decade, no ads still. Hurricane tracking too.
How do I add this app to my apple car play? When I go to general, carplay, car, customize, it does not show up as an app I can add.
I downloaded it. I’ve always wanted a radar to view on CarPlay. I’ll give it a try.

You have so many app on your CarPlay. My iPhone in Canada doesn’t give me this amount of choice. Am I missing a step or are we restricted?

I wouldn't say *while* driving, but in the car. Or if you have a passenger.
To know whether you are driving into icing conditions or a tornado would be important
If you are on a motorcycle, it helps us avoid life threatening situations.
