Dude thank you SO much for doing a demo/review on this beast. I’ve been scanning TH-cam since Schecter announced the drop of this guitar and you are the first to do one on the FR version. I’ve been playing for 16 years now and 14 of that has been with 7-string axes. I’ve owned two schecters (1 a 7-string) and I KNEW this thing would be amazing. I’m a doctor (pediatrician) so my woodshedding time is limited these days but without my guitar and music I’d be lost. Thank you so damn much for this stellar demo. Officially subscribed now.
My all time favorite guitar in my collection is my schecter reaper. Schecter imports are just insane quality! It's the only guitar I haven't modded or needed to do some fret work to.
Thanks Ray, that just looks so much better in the video than the all the store ads, and it really sounds as good as it looks! I too wish it had a glossy finish but still looks insanely cool! Stay Metal Ray🤘🏽
I am relatively new to playing 7 strings but I acquired a Schecter Banshee-7P hardball with the Nazgul Seymour Duncans from a friend and I'm really enjoying it.
I bought a used Schecter omen and it's such an incredible guitar for the price. Binding on the body, neck and headstock, gorgeous inlays even has one of the first fret, coil split, Floyd rose, all for $350 and it was only a year old. I finally got to the point where I can afford a Gibson Les Paul. So I started shopping. I just couldn't spend $2800 on an $800 guitar, that likely would arrive with defects. So I switched gears and bought the banshee Mach 6 frs. It's so sick. The three piece neck, neck through, not a single defect to be found. Perfection. I agree, Schecter is the best guitar brand.
Dude... Dig your fuckin positive attitude. I got kinda jaded with the metal scene for a while, but you're not afraid to smile and have a good time when playing. And that guitar? Amaazziiiinnnnggggg... Been considering a 7-string soon 🤔
Love your having so much fun playing!! That's so cool. Your Smile is contagious! I just bought this Guitar. Can't wait for it to arrive. Wish you lived next door. I need a Good Guitar Friend.
ive been watching you for years, i only now realize that sounds creepy, but i absolutely LOVE your channel and the music you create! Much appreciated! please keep up the guitar reviews they are SUPER helpful
@@xchaosinfamous The body, neck, frets and overall feel of the Banshee is much better than that of the Hellraiser (the latter its chuncky, heavy and the neck is thicker than Banshee's). Soundwise, I'm not sure. I don't remember which stock pickups has the Hellraiser, a friend that has it got them replaced. The Sustaniac that comes with the Banshee, while fun, is not as good sounding in my subjective opinion when using it as a neck pickup: its very bright, and has a gap at the center of the magnet just below the 4th string that makes said string to sound quieter than the rest. Useful for funky twangy tones, thou. The M7 bridge pickup is way way darker but sounds pretty good. I would say, Banshee is a better built instrument than Hellraiser (and your back, forearm and hands will appreciate it). Maybe check the non-sustaniac version of Banshee if you're not into sustaniacs.
Definitely not an issue. I just tried one of these in a hardtail yesterday and I fell in love. It can do anything you want, clean or dirty. I think it helps that on the high E they come installed with a 9 gauge. It was much more playable as far as soloing than the other seven strings I tried. This guitar is amazing and I tried everything in the store that was comparable in 6 or 7 string around this price point. I will definitely be getting one.
Just subscribed! Kept coming across your videos, and I have to say, as a fellow metal head, I love your content!!! I specifically love the vid on the Schecter Banshee Mach 7!!! Made up my mind on my next guitar!!! YOU FUGGIN ROCK, MY GUY!!!!!!
hey how is it? i have the banshee from 2014 and i have been in love with it ever since literally one of the best guitars ever, but im thinking of replacing it with this, ai already love my banshee, im thinking this one will be an epic upgrade!
I'm only seeing this after years but it is by far my favourite guitar now, I usually play Gibson live and got this thing to scratch an itch and I'm still scratching, it's incredible mate
Can’t wait to get mine back from the guitar tech. Had to get it set up. First Floyd but it’s my 4th schecter. Just wish it was multiscale. Sick jams dude.
Sweet vid dude! I made your day with a like and a sub! Found your vid cause I'm actually thinking about ordering this. Might get the SLS Elite. Ya many you'll never have an issue on a decent guitar with a quality FR and tuning stability. I go nuts on my Schecter E1 FR S and I literally only tune the top e like every few playing hours. Love the faces btw! My vote is best guitar face ever!
The Necks on those Guitars very quite a bit on looks. On mine you can really see the different woods used in it. Yours here the Maple is pretty Dark. Mine is really light so you see the different layers really well if that matters to you. The Neck feels Amazing!
I tried a Mach-6. Great guitar, but i have a Hellraiser Hybrid with a systaniac and a floyd 1500 and i honestly like it better lol. But schecter makes truly great guitars. For the money, they are some of the best on the market IMO
This is really a great looking guitar to me. I liked the extra time playing outside of the mix. I’m not super familiar with the Lundgren so it was nice to take that in... Thanks Ray!
There is a beat up Schecter Hellraiser C7-FR with scalloped frets and a Roland Gk pick up of all things installed inside the guitar selling here in Japan. NO sustaniac though still for 500 bucks it is tempting.
Would you rather go for this Schecter Mach 7 FR S or the C1 EX apocalypse. I play mostly doom and ambient so the sustaining and Floyd Rose would be a good add but I like LOW TUNINGS. G or A ... I’m really torn between a full on simple Baritone and this one for added features. Maybe pedals would do the trick?
Yo Ray, that got a few different ones. One with a hardtail and one with an ever tune. Not sure but I think they both come with a sastiniac or just the lungrin pickups
I'd love to know the amp settings. Usually I had found the lundgren pick ups dark and muddy for my taste. But you got a great tone here. I had kinda written off these guitars in a hardtail because of the pick ups lol. Now I'm debating on one of these or a keith merrow
I don't know if you have been producing less or the TH-cam algorithm is screwed up, but it has been a long time since one of your videos has popped up in my feed. Missed ya man.
Building a custom Guitar and was thinking of having an Ash body with flamed maple top like this Banshee.... It will be a 28" Baritone with Evertune. Do you think that wood choice would make it too scooped or shrill sounding? Will be set up for drop G possibly drop A
@@eranfalek So the pickups in the hybrid unfortunately can't be split they're actually different from the artist version. There not less in quality but they're different build. The neck pickup is awesome for clean stuff and honestly I think they do pretty well for most clean playing. They are hot but not super hot. I find I get a better tone out of them by bringing them down in height (using a Kemper as well)

@@richieknight5423 They go up and down. It has a floating bridge meaning you can pull up on the bar, and you can pull down on the tremolo. You pull down for the note to go lower, and you pull up for it to go higher.
Just curious, what do you think of the Lungren M7 in that guitar compared to the EMG Daemonum bridge pickup? I know one's a 7 string and the other is a 6 string, so it's maybe not the most apples to apples comparison.
I just got this guitar and only the low B and E strings produce sustain (the on / off switch was also inverted) - I took it back for warranty inspection from the place I purchased it waited three weeks and it came back with the same problem except now two of the sustain modes don't work either. So brutal as I waited 7 months for this guitar to come in as a special order and 3 weeks for "repair" and it still doesn't function properly. Since this video is the exact same guitar I know its not working as it should - hopefully I get a solution. End rant.
